  1. It's 10 Warcry warbands + 1 Underworlds warband (Khagra's ravagers)
  2. These new Thunderstrike Liberators are a nice upgrade, but those oversized hammers... I know that's GW's trademark but they've outdone themselves here. I'm struggling to see anything else in this picture. I hope to change my opinion with other photos.
  3. If their sculpture is simple as a core troop, I don't think it's impossible for them to be just as many. The right balance between horde troops and paint accessibility in a launch box.
  4. I don't know how reliable this info is, but it's credible if it's made up: fighting general, wizard, core and elite troops, gunners, artillery... It's the perfect composition for a launch box. And the numbers would fit: 40 clan rats, 3 rat-ogors, 3 jezzails, 2 characters, 1 machine, that's 49 minis. Out of 74, that leaves 25 SE. Still a credible number.
  5. GW is still looking for opportunities to sell more minis. One time it will be new units, another one, old refs resculpts... Range refresh is one way of providing a new opportunity to sell and keep the business model going. That's the only thing they're concerned about.
  6. You think like a fan, whereas GW thinks like a company. SE are the ideal army for beginners : quick and easy to paint, few in number, relatively simple to play, forgiving of mistakes as you learn, and big guys in shining armour. They're the perfect army to sell when you discover the hobby. You just have to hope you're the army in front of them to get attention every 3 years. This time it's the skaven's turn. Who knows who will be the lucky one in 2027...
  7. As Orruks Warclans spot is already taken by Kruelboyz, I'm not sure GW will add an extra band with Ironjawz... I'm guessing that GW will want to give one to armies that don't already have one, like the ones you mentioned: Gloomspite, Kharadrons, Idoneth, etc. So that all AoS armies have at least one Warcry band. After all, there are only 6 factions left to fill (excluding SoB, which are separate). This can be done relatively quickly, in a year at the most, and with three boxes, it's a done deal. After that... We'll see.
  8. I have the impression that, unlike 40k, spearhead will use exactly the same core rules as basic AoS. Where combat patrol has different datasheets to the main 40k. But I could be wrong.
  9. A guy from the AoS design team talking about new rules I presume.
  10. That puts the BOC squatted rumour to bed for now. If they don't want to alarm players just yet, they may well offer index and never replace it with a proper BT.
  11. That's another excellent piece of advice that should be repeated often, myself included ! To use my CoS example again, just because their minis terrify me now doesn't mean I won't attack them in the future. Having a baby also plays a part in reducing the amount of painting time available... But fortunately these little beasts grow up eventually !
  12. To talk about my quick experience with recent CoS minis, despite the fact that I've been painting for a long time, I hit a wall painting the launch army set, and particularly with freeguild cavaliers. I'm a slow painter, in Eavy Metal style (but without the talent that goes with it ) so it took me an awfully long time to paint them (5 weeks for 5 riders... 4 months for the whole box oO). Although I really like CoS minis (they're probably my favourite range in AoS at the moment), I'm switching to Soulblight now because the ratio of minis appreciation/time/speed of painting is much better for me. Finding the right balance between time invested, rendering requirements and minis appealing (gameplay is secondary for me) is really not easy sometimes !
  13. Exactly the same here... (and yet how I'd love to go to Warhammer World !)
