Those warbands, should we expect new models or just mix of older models in a box with tokens and rules?

I was just thinking that. I hope, we'll see all new kits but more than likely it'll be a mix of new kits and reboxed units. That being said a lot of the factions featured there don't have kits that can make a wide variety of builds, minus the Ironjaws and Bonesplitterz

If they follow the Kill-Team model it'll be a 100% new kit and an 'upgrade sprue' for an existing kit. However since AoS units tend to have far less options, it could also be x2 new kits.

Wyrdlights could be where the vaguely Tzeentch terrain piece fits in?

We have Ven Densts from Order of Azyr and Ven Brecht from Anvilgard's Stormcast -- it would seem "Ven Talax" follows a human naming convention, with a surname that screams Seraphon.

The 'Path' part reminds me of Oxyotl and the general secret paths Lizardmen had through Lustria/Southlands compared to other factions too.

The map in the video is larger than what is shown (you have an icon of Khorne in the lower right corner with the dezoom)
I think that the complete map will be in the core book and that some of the presented factions will have a release and/or some additional surprises

Krakentoof =Bonesplitterz (meh)

Dreadfang= ? (🤞 graveguard equivalent)

Spinecrawlers web = spiderfang

Great stinkhorn= gloomspite (fellwater troggs are stinky 😉)

Van talex =?

Camp fortune = dawn bringers

Wyrdlights=tzeentch

Eater pits = ogors

If its bonesplitterz I hope its something newish like bonesplitter brutes
No clue what dreadfang is, could be that vampire infantry everybody wants, but its ghur so something more bestial could make sense
Spiderfang has me excited, it could be an updated spider rider kit, possibly as a dual kit.
Stinkhorns are mushrooms, so I bet its just moonclan, or stinky squigs, no clue what it would be though. I could see it including a new madcap shaman though.
For Ogors I'd love to see some plastic maneaters
For Tzeentch I've got no clue what it would be, some Tzeentchy chaos warriors could be cool, or some screamer riding kairics, but I imagine its something very different like the nurgle warband.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, chances are the boxes will be existing models bundled together at a discount.

I would love for them all to be new kits but it's best to set realistic expectations.

Ill temper my hype but Im fairly confident Ogors will be updated Maneaters, theyre almost all gone from the store and its the perfect excuse to give them new models seeing as the Gnarlwood is right near the Great Gutfort.

While I'm hoping Warcry will retain most of its freedom when it comes to warband rosters, I'd be quite happy if they assumed the Kill Team model for releasing new teams. One new set of models (be it a fully new unit or a new sculpt for an existing one) and one existing set with a new upgrade sprue to expand the options and customizability could also do wonders for AOS (especially for the most neglected armies).

I would love to see refreshed kits for destruction and also something outside the actual mono-race faction (except of Gitz) - what about a Kruleboyz teams with 2-3 grots, 1 boltboyz, 2 gutrippas, 2 murknob warriors, 1 fimir and leaded by a footed Swampboss

It's baffling how we haven't had a single leak regarding the fall Destruction tomes. We had leaks for pretty much every other product that's coming out for the next two years, but nothing about those tomes or what new models will accompany them.

I hope its not because they don't exist....

I have a sneaking suspicion we won't get much of an update to goblins and ogres. Instead we will get a new army somehow tied to Kragnos, and those weird 3-fingered models we keep seeing in the rumor threads.

So I am trying not to look into any of the posts and I am going to add my own guesses based entirely off of my own hopes. I will post a faction, a unit, and terrain based on maps and symbols. None of this is based on anything other than my own hopes and if i had to guess I think that these will actually be paired and release similarly to Killteam with an upgraded unit and a completely new/remade unit. So if that is the case at least half my terrain picks will be wrong and of course so will most of my units.

Dread Fang's Tower - I think that this is going to be a new Soul Blight unit. I am going to say with the theme of Warcry being focused on expanding the idea of what the mortal realms looks like I will guess these will be mortal thralls... somewhere between a zombie and free guild unit. The terrain will be a creepy tower some small scatter terrain and with a rule update for simple siege mechanics.

Kraktoof Gulch - It is going to be Orruk Warclans and I think we will see a new Kruelboyz unit. Gnashtoof riders which we have been clambering for since the reveal of the hero unit. The terrain will be based around mangroves with some rules around difficult terrain and water.

Skinslough Fen - Clearly Nurgle. It is obviously going to be Rotmire Creed... but for more fun lets say it is an update for Pestigors! Terrain again obviously the gnarlwood but lets say a more diseased variant with a theme of infectious lands!

Spinecrawler Webs - Gloomspite Spiderfang... It is finally happening and they will include a Scuttleboss and therefore gloomspite will overtake Slaves to Darkness as the best line. The terrian will be rocky and covered with webs... like Shelobs lair.

Great Stinkhorn - Gloomspite Gitz again! Return of the Sourbreath Troggoth lead by a Troggoth Hag! Fungal forrest with rules for growth as it pops up along the battlefield effecting strategies.

Tainted Wound - S2D Horns of Hashut or Legionaries... ruins and rules for heroes featuring the Marshal!

Ven Talax's Path - No clue... lets say Ossiarchs. Finally getting those archers and living the Tomb King dream of firing bones from a bow? Terrain come on we need more cool skeletal structure terrain! Rules for tax returns paid in bones

Wyrdlights - Obviously Disciples of Tzeentch. Lets get our Kairic cavalry! Clearly cool mutating lands with rules for mutations forcing models into becoming chaos spawn!

Eaterpits - Gnoblar Ogor Mawtribes! New Maneaters with a spin of accessories from accross the mortal realms. Terrain will be ship docks and the introduction of something that will lead towards naval skirmish play.

Bonus - The pyramids are for a Seraphon release that will wrap up the edition of Warcry with Oxyotl and a band of chamelon skink specialists!

Those are my poor attempts at guesses and I am excited that I will be wrong and we instead that we will get more Slaves to Darkness units!

Yknow until the official announcements I don’t think we really had much in the way of leaks on Sylvaneth or skaven. Part of the deathmaster uproar was because the skaven crowd had been expecting more of an overhaul. The bug cavalry, archer revs, and new hero were all surprises, and the Echoes material leaks and tome pics weren’t until the respective product was practically on the shelves.

Other than the lumineth cover, I don’t think there’s any details about them or tzeentch beyond the box set.

there’s honestly not a lot at all as far as AoS content goes that’s been leaked (vs just rumors).

I can’t remember but did Warcry produce any new non chaos models outside of the khanate shadow stalkers?? I know they have other army kits but isn’t it just old models mixed in?!!

I know the setting was in chaos lands but with this new edition in ghur I was hoping they would just have all destruction warbands. The fact that it starts with similar chaos style warbands to the original version has me skeptical that we will actually see new stuff outside of chaos.

I hope this isn’t true because the lore they have set for this “season” is very immersive.

I hope this isn’t true because the lore they have set for this “season” is very immersive.

The first edition book introduced 8 chaos warbands. The catacombs box with the shadowstalkers was a bit of a surprise especially for those who were waiting for the Scions. Red Harvest was also a bit of a surprise but once again it had 2 chaos warbands.

The end result was 10 chaos warbands, 1order warband, 3 big monsters and 2 sets of small monsters.

In comparison with the first set, the biggest disappointment is the lack of monsters. The monsters in the first box were a cool addition and gave you something to add to the warband as it went through the campaign without having to buy any other minis.

With this edition it's really impossible to know what they are going to do. They could just do a bunch more chaos warbands, they could add upgrade sprues like kill team or they could just do a variety of individual warbands like Underworlds. Anything is possible.

I really hope they do a roadmap at launch just the words "new destruction warbands" would get a lot of people onboard with this edition.
