  1. Yeah. My only line of thought is that with a new Tzeench book on the way they had to hold back stuff or couldn't really commit to an idea.
  2. Yeah that's my line of thinking. Though I also don't want to be sat on models for 3+ years (mine are all grey sprues still) and then have them be the wrong scale etc.
  3. Is it just me or is Tzeench completely dead in this book? Abilities are all about re-rolling saves and resisting spells. The rerolling saves is already in the book in abundance (Sorcerers, Warriors) and a 5+ ignore doesn't seem worth the power of the other marks you lose. Feels like the God of Change has zero synergy here, especially compared to some of the silly stuff Nurgle pulls off. Even the battalion isn't great because of the high cost (NINE units + hero) and small bonus of an extra spell. I thought there might be synergy with Cabalists but doesn't seem to be there. Am I missing something?
  4. You're right about OBR, long term they have be the replacement for traditional Deathrattle. That even makes sense with the lore as surely any raised undead are better broken down and shaped into Ossiarchs. Basic Skeletons could be considered for Garrison's or emergency numbers requirements but Nagash ultimately, wants to turn the Mortal Realms into the Ossiarch Construct Empire. As someone with a bucket full of skellies and grave guard to build it does make me wary of the future. Ultimately I think it does come down to copyright and having unique model ranges, anyone can do a Skeleton, Zombie or Vampire, it's the AoS twist that GW need to keep them fresh. Legions of Nagash is already incredibly weird by having half of the Nighthaunt included and the three Mortarchs drawing on the same pool of followers (except Arkhan now has an Ossiarch Legion). So it's completely up in the air where they will go. I like the idea of Mannfred becoming the Mortarch of the FEC. Maybe he could try to betray Nagash and be punished with an incredibly powerful delusion and be tied to the FEC. I think Vampires will get a faction soon enough, probably dragon based and lead by Neferata (she's gotten a lot of fiction). Then it leaves... Necromancers, Zombies and other raised undead. I really have no idea. My current theory is we'll see an eventual LoN book with the Nighthaunt included and a few of the finecast bits dropped. Maybe in time for plastic Blood Knights. Sort of the Nagash/ Arkhan rules etc. But maybe that's more of a stopgap...
  5. So I went for a Tomb Banshee, Gnashing Jaws, Purple Sun and Malevolent Maelstrom. My opponent had a cool list with the Tamurkhan Battalion, some Blightkings, Master of Plagues and a Sorcerer Lord. Sadly the Jaws only did damage to myself as I never got control of them and didn't manage to cast the Sun! The banshee managed to fluff her scream against bravery 5 enemies twice 😢 Tamurkhan even managed to revive himself by killing my VLoZD! It was a very cinematic if swingy game but a minor victory to the Nurgle. I'm not sure I'd run a unit of ten Knights again, they just seems too unweidly.
  6. Just a quick one... If I cast this on a unit, does it pile in and attack twice in a single activation, or does it mean it can be chosen twice in the same combat phase. Essentially does my opponent get to fight between it's two sets of attacks or not. Cheers!
  7. Running 2k against Tamurkhan Nurgle tomorrow including the T himself. My models aren't extensive so I'm having trouble getting the points up however currently I'm here: VLoZD - Ethereal Amulet, Transferrance, Mistform, Lance + Shield Coven Throne - Amaranthine Orb Vampire Lord - Nightmare, Pinions 10 Blood Knights 5 Blood Knights 3 Vargheists 4 Batswarms This is 1750 on the dot. I'm aiming for the extra CP (Martial Insight too good!) so have 200pts left to play with. In terms of models I've got extra Vampire Lords, Necromancers, Malign Sorc spells and could build some Direwolves in a pinch... But what would you guys recommend? I guess 5 wolves and a Necro to roll with the bats wouldn't be a bad shout and a spell to fill points. I usually play Necromantic Bloodline but am considering swift death to help me outmaneuver the Nurgle.
  8. Very inventive @chyortskazal , Double headed Ogors are a fantasy staple 😄
  9. Ironically, I kind of fired and forgot with the topic Appreciate the responses though guys. For context I suppose I'd go Hallowheart and I do count magic as shooting!
  10. It makes sense. AoS and 40k are the biggest sellers and what most people will play. FW being an online only boutique product means that updating rules and such for it means it'll always be a little out of whack with the main game. GW wants the main systems to be accessible. Meanwhile FW are basically the Horus Heresy and Specialist games, product lines that suit their shopfront.
  11. Varanguard are £60 for Three. Dracoth are £40 for two, so they're pretty much the same cost.
  12. I have three. Originally bought for Heresy (quad mortars) but I'm hoping they get a new lease of life, somewhere... Even allies would be lovely 😢
  13. My only fear is thst the new Knights are a case of "half the models for the same price", as current Knights are £35 for Ten. Whereas something like Kavalos Deathriders are Five for £35 and the beauty shot for the new Knights shows five....
  14. And also no longer knows the spells of other death wizards on the battlefield
  15. The Slaughtermaster Cauldron being random is the biggest disservice I can imagine. What a total let down. It should've just been take D3 mortals to choose an effect to represent the guy lopping his own flesh off to cook. I'm sure when you get +1A it'll be worth it but without taking multiple that's hard to do... Otherwise though the book looks cracking! Just baffles me that these AoS 1.0 GA abilities aren't changed...
  16. Hyped! Hopefully my theory of the Warcry stuff being added to the StD range is coming true, would be cool!
  17. There are *so* many missile units in CoS that I wonder if a pure shooting army is viable? Backed up by lots of spells too. What do people think?

  19. The Untamed Beasts Warcry dudes are getting a lot of traction purely for their scout move. They're very similar to the Yeomen defensively (6+, low Br, etc) but only scout 6" and have a lower move later on. Admittedly they are a lot cheaper at 70pts for 10 wounds but the Yeomen surpirsingly have more attacks, a ranged attack and a better save on the charge?! Not to mention the 12" scout move. REALLY interesting little bit of tech.
  20. My blood knights are converted anyway! So I noticed something quite unique in the Brettonian document today, Mounted Yeomen.... 200pts gets you Ten of the buggers. Do their offensive/ defensive stats suck? Oh my yes, BUT, they have a very big pregame move of 12" and with cavalry bases can make a lot of area denial. 20 wounds isn't insignificant either, in the current meta they could well provide a good speed bump or screening for the main body of Knights.
  21. Hmm seeing as I normally play Soulblight and have 15 blood knights and other bits to call upon, I'm wondering if an undead themes Brettonian army might work. Nagash stumbles across the souls of Brettonia and resurrects them and vampires lead it. It would be a fairly easy theme visually too: Blood Knights = Grail Knights Black Knights = Errants/ KotR (colours/ helms to set apart) Skeletons = Peasants Vampires = Heroes (some small monster form/ rider for hippogryph) Pegasus = winged blood Knights or some kind of Vargheist conversion... Dreadblade Harrows?! Trebuchet = Screaming Skull/ Mortis Engine Would people be Happy to play against this? Thinking further I could even use the Blood Knights Merc Company to get some even heavier Cav in there, but it may detract from the internal synergy.
  22. Haven't seen it all laid out like this before! VERY cool! Any closeups of the Mortisan Boneshaper bottom? Google isn't bringing up a thing?!
  23. Cities also occupies a niche for GW in that it's a little more traditional fantasy (and from the lore standpoint, the everyman!) which is important to the fluff. Imagine if 40k got rid of Imperial Guard?
