White Dwarf 494 – ’Eavy Metal Corsairs, New Rules for Bladeborn, and an Index Astartes on Raptors - Warhammer Community (warhammer-community.com)

Now that we have suddently content for Cursed City (white dwarf and warhammer +), do you think we could see more content/ expansions released for it considering it super awkward situation?

To be honest, I really don't think there's any way of rescuing the CC in any way. Especially now, that the 'good' models have been axed fro AoS proper. Just redo Mordheim once TOW is out and I think quite a few peple would be happy with that.

Yeah I doubt we'll see expansions after so long but maybe a new Warhammer quest box is on the way. From what I played of BF it was a really fun standalone game, shame they both have such a high barrier of entry. If the boxes were a bit cheaper then I think they'd be better at pulling in new players.

My gut feeling is that we won't see a proper Mordheim successor that isn't a strict Mordheim 2024 from the Specialist Games team. The Skirmish Games team - Underworlds, Warcry, etc - seem to have a more GW approach with an eye towards shorter, snappier games without much in the way of customisation. I think Warcry is as close as we'd probably get to an 'AoS Mordheim' and that suffers from them clearly not wanting (or being allowed) to commit to things like wargear and progression that isn't something you can model out of the box. They've paid lipservice to campaign play, but it never has enough depth to make people want to commit to it.

The Specialist Games (Necromunda, Heresy, etc) appear to be more about bringing ye olde abandoned games back up to modern audiences and maintaining a lot of the campaign-heavy focus and plentiful options that you have to scavenge bits and 3D print parts for. However as it currently stands, they don't appear to have any interest in AoS as a setting - at least if the total lack of any AoS games and the squatting of the FW 'AoS' models is any indication.

I think AOS should absolutely get the Mordheim successor, but I also agree that Cursed City feels too tainted for GW to revive.

Well, Warcry is kinda Mordheim weith a different setting. Specially on its first edition with those ruins.

I've just played Warcry for the first time and the game is awesome. GW should definitely work with what they have, as the system can definitely carry a Mordheim-style expansion (if needed).

Especially considering they've been experimenting with campaign type expansions with Kill Team. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to add something like that into Warcry

So they are probably getting the old Stone Trolls.... new Fellwaters for AoS and the River Trolls back to ToW? I guess they are getting the old Fanatics the way they are doing things. Maybe new Stabbas/Shootas on the horizon? Gloomspite Gitz are one of the GW bestsellers, dont think its impossible.

Thats pretty much what I expect to happen if they don't want models to be usable for both systems.

Release a new version for AoS that doesn't really fit TOW -> move the old model to TOW exclusively -> after enough time maybe update that one too with a TOW look

If they really want to keep models for AoS and Old World separate then I suspect they may stick to the nearer to 28mm scale for old world and ramp up the 32mm scale creep with AoS.

The Free Guilds are 28mm, so imo it would depend on the army/ minis.
