Stylus
Do we know if Vandus and Khul will have new sculpts, or repacks of their Starter Box models?

hellalugosi
What i'd really like to see is a warscroll for Ionus with the old sculpt, and a brand new kit for generic lord relictors, full of plenty deathy bits to customize it with. Excited to see the new warscrolls! I've been wanting this exact thing for a while!
TheOtherJosh
So, in looking at the (rather blurry) pictures I've seen of the new starter set (the Thunder & Blood version) It _almost_ looked like neither Vandus nor Khul were in the box. Given that the new models are rumored to be press-fit... and both of those models don't appear to be good "fits" for press-fit models. It would be pretty reasonable ... Those two aren't in the new starter. I don't think the models will be press fit, they'll just be the same models they are now. Shadespire models will be press fit. Darth Alec
Blood and Thunder? Anyone care to post THAT rumour?
Vaux
It isnt a rumor to be honest. They announced it on their community page back in March. Just scroll down a bit in the article
Sete
Cool. It's about time they release some stuff of the starter set separately. Can't wait for this 40k thing to pass, and to get some AoS stuff.
Darth Alec
Oh, that box. That's the one with the carboard building as well, IIRC. Not that interesting then. Still, Vandus and Khul getting their own scrolls is dope.

The pictures I've seen on image search are poor quality, but with the current box having 47 miniatures and 11 war scrolls. That all is in line. That prices out to $40 USD each for The Bloodsecrator and Khorne Lord box and then the same for the Lord Celestant. And makes that new start collecting box a solid deal at the $85 usd price. (Though it does increase the cost equivalent to $165 for all the current models you get for $125.)
Percivael
In this image from the latest White Dwarf you can see a couple of large Nurgle Beasties which surely must be candidates for the new Great Unclean One. If so, it would be a return to the fat with long thin arms type from yesteryear. With teasing images like this I reckon (or hope!) we're only weeks away from the new Great Unclean One!
Captain Marius
On the full version of that art theres also some giant new beast thingies and unridden drone thingies which would both be new. Also Mortarion!

So the thing of interest to take from this, is that we'll get to see whether or not the core Age of Sigmar rules are truly changing as this will be the first release since the Kharadron's came down without rules in the battletome. You'd think that if the rules are truly going to change, then it'd make sense to include a new version of the rules in a 'new' starter set. That being said... I'm not actually sure that this new set is better value? The play mat would have to be pretty decent quality and size to be worth the loss of Vandus, Korghus Khul and the Bloodsecrator for pretty minimal savings (Currently, the AoS starter is $150AUD compared to the start collecting $140AUD). In Canada it is priced at $150CAD too, and the Start Collecting sets are priced $100CAD each, so the price differenced is significantly larger... The new 40k box is $220AUD and that is in line with the US price given the current exchange rate. The pricing structure here in Oz may be changing for the better. Finally. Maybe.
KillagoreFaceslasha
I heard you are writing a novella about Hammerhal, So what can we expect to see? It's set partially in Hammerhal Ghyra, so you'll get to see a bit of that. One particular area, at least. Beyond that, I'll say wait for the novella. From J.Reynolds himself. Looks promising.
hellalugosi
With this release does anyone thing well see a rise of named characters to showcase the fluff of the game? Were already seeing things like brokk for kharadrons, so i welcome this, as long as we still get generic un named style champions.
Kosmion
Im not gonna beat a dead horse here but..SC and khorne again.. not surprised tho and i cant really blame GW. The box art looks really oldschool and cool i gotta say!
