  1. I think you are on the right track. Good work on the comic book highlighting (I'm a huge comics geek myself). I think using a glaze is going to really help with the fire glow, the transitions at the moment are too abrupt. Don't be scared, you can paint over just about anything and it's ALWAYS better on your subsequent tries! So give it a blue glaze, and bring the highlights back up again. Just be sure you are thinning your paints down, just add a bit of water to the paint.

I forgot to ask, are these GW skeletons? Because the GW ones I've seen are pretty bad, and these look good. I know the Mantic ones are great (the only ones I've seen I really like).

  2. Yeah man I love living here too. It's really great to live in such a culturally diverse place, particularly in the densely populated Northeast. Major cities are a car ride away. Though I can also see how great it would be to live in Europe, where cultural diversity is a short train ride away!

SF is a beautiful city, though seems crime rate is getting pretty bad there even for the US. I have a friend that lives in Portland, I'm hoping to go on another cross country road trip to visit. One of my favorite places I've been is where my family is from, Belmullet in County Mayo Ireland. I feel at home near the sea, and no place on earth has made me feel more at home. Tied for Second Place is San Juan PR and Bermuda ;)

I hope you enjoy New Zealand, it's on my bucket list!

  3. Thanks for the report James, sounds like it was pretty good! My own experience is with Games Day in Baltimore and Chicago, though one day I'll make the trip to the UK (I have family there). Heh, I'm wearing my 8th Edition Fantasy shirt from GD right now :) Very very busy lots of people, so I really like the idea of the grass roots approach for a more personal touch...though I think it would have been nice to have more of the 'face' of GW there.

Can't thank you enough for the mug and shirt, Ironjawz iz best!

  4. Can't love this enough. Fantastic, beautiful army. It's busy, without being a distraction. Like camouflage, the models come bursting out of the foliage in that ghostly blue color. Man do I love the way those red mushrooms pop, and all the details hidden in the branches. Fantastic conversions that are so well done they look like part of the original mode. I hope you build a board and enter it for Armies on Parade.

I'm just going to look at this all day.

  5. I love building lists, and using different apps to do it. At one time I found myself building different lists over playing video games! I think it's fun to toy around and find the different synergies or come up with different themes. There are lots of different apps you can use to do this, and I think Army Builder even stores what models you have.

For me, it's very weird not to build lists or have a structure, I'm looking forward to The General's Handbook...though I do have a bit of trepidation. There's something to be said for AoS freeform army building, because having a great theme is a very important thing to me. Having an all Giant army (Aleguzzlers!) sounds like one of the coolest things ever.
