  1. I disagree - once a warband for Underworlds comes out - they usually come out with warscrolls around the same time. So they would have to fit under a specific army. I believe by March/April we will get some reveal for SGL which would fit the underworlds release .
  2. The models are absolutely divine - but shame we didn’t get an SGL preview. Perhaps in the coming month/s...
  3. The Faq leak is fake but if something like that turns out to be real - Soulblight Gravelords will be the LON 2.0 with few new kits/remakes . Which is cool with me ! New rules for existing models !
  4. You cannot arcane bolt twice on roll of 9, it’s not one of the Lore spells for Locus.
  5. So you think they the majority of Aos players everywhere - most will have a full Behemat army? I highly doubt that. Also the army in the picture doesn’t have any new SOB models.... kinda defeats the purpose when talking about who is actually buying into the army. When I mentioned GW’s idea behind releasing the army - they price centerpiece models highly because most people will ever only buy one. Similar to Teclis - most of the time he will only be bought but LRL players and they’ll only buy one of him. That’s why they set the prices per center piece high - return on investment. I know there are those who buy just Teclis to paint or those who buy 3 or 4 new boxes of Mega Gargants but they are just exceptions to the rule .
  6. GW knows most people will never even want to collect a full SOB army. The reason for the release and super expensive model is because many people will only ever buy one to add to their collection . In they way GW can at least hit you with the 200$ for their return in investment and some profit down the line .
  7. I 100% agree - one of the reasons I was drawn to vampire Counts back in the day is that precise mix of different beings and creatures . I feel sometimes with Aos they give you so much while restricting you at the same time .
  8. Declaring charges and space - gauging in fantasy. No rolls needed - just skill and guesstimates.
  9. I believe command abilities do effect mounts - perhaps you’re confusing it with Command Traits?
  10. Nice work - have you thought about black - edging the bases ?
  11. Keep inspiring presence the way it is - and stop printing anything Battleshock - negating in future books and revisions. Things like + 1 Bravery or -1 Bravery are good but models must die in this game and Battleshock (this game’s version of leadership tests ) needs to be feared.
  12. I would get rid of the damage chart and sub in a “ last breathe” line where it states - “if this model had 3 wounds or less remaining, use these stats “. That way the monsters stay at peak strength for most of their lifespan while only decreasing once if it’s at its final wounds. I would also get rid of the horde discount for all units. This seems to be the simplest and most effective way to keep monsters somewhat threatening.
  13. No source but there have been some rather recent rumor engines hinting to vampirey things - especially sea vampires. Also - Halloween is on a Saturday this year, so call me crazy but they may actually do something release- related for that. (I’m a huge vampire fan). Since you’re new I wouldn’t want you to go spend a bunch of money on stuff you may regret unless you already have things to convert up and play. I’m doing Legions myself.
  14. I have never seen a game of AOS where initiative roll made the game so much more dynamic and strategic . I feel unfortunately lots of people lie to themselves into liking the mechanic. I would even go so far as to wager that if there never was an inititive roll and they were to introduce one now- these same people would be against such a sudden and harsh change. Here where I live (NYC) there are top players who also swear by it - but they also lose to it no matter how many times they “screen” or “play around”. With the crazy amount of stackable abilities , spells and shooting nowadays it doesn’t really matter- there is a high chance you will be blown off. For instance , one top player who is quite dominant had a close game apparently against this other guy who was virtually undefeated. Long story short : they went to turn 3 or maybe even 4 and the challenger said he lost the initiative and called it there. How anticlimactic is that ?! The best thing they can do is two things for Aos for 3rd edition- take away intiative roll and only start scoring objectives starting from second round . This way it mitigates some of the random craze but also makes 1st turn priority scoring not an issue.
  15. I’d wait on it - rumor has it that something like this may be released possibly this year if not next.
  16. Finished up these Dire Wolves recently. IMG_4094.MOV
  17. Finished up some Dire Wolves to add to my Legions of Nagash collection. IMG_4094.MOV
  18. I believe they can ally with Nighthaunt and also take certain Nighthaunts as part of the army. I’m not familiar with the app so can’t comment on that.
  19. And always remember - if you like a model from another part of the Grand Alliance - you can always Ally it in.
  20. Excellent choice - I’m a Vampire enthusiast myself and love Mannfred. Vampire counts were my love from the old world and glad you’re joining our team. I’d suggest just painting up what you own already - you already have a decent selection of units. A vampire on foot and even Arkhan help out with extra healing and magic for mannfred -who is great in combat. Eventually treat yourself to a VloZd or other Behemoth to help round out the army. Morghasts are nice ( with halberds especially ) as they can use his command ability to dish out heavy damage .
  21. The problem with the Death GA is that it already has too many sub factions. To me - FEC can keep their lore and all but should’ve never been it’s own separate army. There simply are not many boxes for it to have existed as a stand alone instead of just keeping the basic 4 or 5 units and having them with LON. I was never a fan of mixing and combining new “cheap excuse” builds for an entire new warscroll- just so it seems as if there’s more choice aesthetically than there actually is. So LON should’ve always had FEC within it - and at the same time cut out some fat - including old warscrolls like the Coach, Bats, Zombies- and all Nighthaunt ( as those have their own tome). As a result you’d have more access to different model types within the LON without repetitive boxes found in other armies. As for Soulblight I’ll be honest - although vampires are my favorite, they are simply too powerful as an army. I don’t think it’s necessary for them to be an entire force. Simply they can be what they’ve always been - select heroes and elite units leading the legions.
  22. They may put it in the updated NH book whenever it comes out. Either that or find a way in the next LON book .
