Yeah, I don't buy it. The Throne of Chaos campaign is not contemporary to The Old World. I guess it may happen eventually, but I'm not counting on it.

Maybe they'll make a print-on-demand for collectors, or maybe he's getting things mixed up and what FW is brewing is a different set og books based on that one.

Interesting that night goblins are old 6th ed ones in boxes of 40.

I'm guessing when it gets the turn of chaos warriors, it will be old ones in boxes of 20.

Be ready to get all the old Chaos kits, for they are all coming back. Yes, even the forsaken. :P

Basically, if a unit can be found in AoS and TOW, it will automatically be the old Battle kit, never the new AoS one. That's pretty much their stance on TOW so far.

forsaken are a given 😂

but warriors and chosen have options for great weapons and halberds. And the old warriors don't have the great weapons or halberds, and chosen halberds I think were an upgrade sprue.

let's see how they handle all the equipment quirks of the rest of the armies.

Also what means "old kits stay in ToW" for AoS dwarf and CoS kits...

I think Dawis would be an exception to what we have so far. A reputable source has said we won't lose more minis on AoS on the near future, so that would leave Dawis in both games at the same time. At least until we get the new CoS battletome.

I didn't realize they ever made a Forsaken kit. Just looked it up: whilst it's not great, I think it'll be good as a source of conversion bits for my own Forsaken, so good.

I don't know. Ironbreakers/drakes, Hammerers/Longboards and Gyrocopters/bombers are all AoS kits yet are getting included in TOW. I guess it might be a sign that they will be cut in the next CoS book.

Warriors got great weapons and halberds as a separate upgrade pack, and I think you could build both two hand weapons and hand weapons and shields on the base kit, so all options should be doable.

I think Chosen will require conversions, as the old models were metal/resin who seem only to have come with great weapons.

Not sure how easy the new plastic Chosen will be to give different weapon options (their poses are probably quite great weapons specific).

I get the feeling we'll be expected to do some conversion/kit bashing, at least in the short term. We'll see though.

Any news/predictions on anticipated prices for the forthcoming Orks & Goblins kits this week? I want to budget for these, but haven't closely followed all the unit pricing to date for TOW so not sure what is expected:

  • Night Goblin Mob [x40]
  • Black Orc Mobs [x20]
  • Goblin Wolf Rider Mob [x15]
  • Orc Boar Boyz [x10]

Thanks 🙂

I shared them in €. For reference 62,50 € is also the cost of the new Knights on Foot:

Thanks v much for this @Ejecutor!

c. £47.50 for 2x Orc Boar Chariots?! Glad i picked them up via the Battalion box. Rest look about reasonable (relatively, for GW).

Np! For some reason GW stopped adding them on the retailer site, so that's why the one in pounds stopped appearing around, but we still have stores sharing them in Spain, so every Monday I share the prices in the Rumour Thread, in case you want to check any other price in the future.

the first models coming for Great Empire of Cathay are:

Light infantry- spears and crossbows

Heavy infantry- swords/halberds and shields

Heavy and light cavalry

If it's just to say that units seen in Total War Warhammer 3 will be in the future TOW army list, that's not a rumor nor a leak : it's basic logic with no risk involved.

Besides, your previous rumors are obvious fake. Tying success of Total War Warhammer 3 dlc sales to what GW will decide to release ? Yeah, right. If they didn't do it before with Total War Warhammer 1, they have no reason to do it now. GW doesn't care at all about sales of video games dlc : only Creative Assembly does.

That's litterally what GW tells us to do with units in Armies of Infamy from Arcane Journals in the corresponding notes - suggesting using some kits as base and paint it differently / take parts from kits from other armies.

It's really the old school Battle mindset coming back.

Releasing Cathay would certainly boost TOW sales even more, but I can't see this happening in the near future. Personally I would love that they keep the focus a bit longer on the current factions and imo bringing back legacy factions is something I prefere above Cathay.

Kislev will be released first before Cathay, anyway. People should stop using Valrak as "serious sources". The guy is a youtuber, he does it for views and doesn't care if what he says is fake or not.

Valrak has his trusted source, and anything that has come from his trusted source has always been right.

The only time he's been wrong, certainly as of late, is when he's shared rumours from whispers he doesn't trust, and he'll always say which source has stated the whisper.

He has been wrong several times in the past. As far as I'm concerned, his "trusted sources" are none working at GW and it's basically guys on the internet using their brain and logic to predict what GW could release in the future. These "Old World rumors" really look like they were taken from a Total War Warhammer channel, honestly.

Enjoy his videos, sure, but never believe what he says - it's just entertainment. It's not because he's "right" a few times that he actually has reliable sources. People working at GW have better things to do than risking their job for a youtuber's need for views.

I don't actually remember the last time he was 100% wrong about something.
Has he gotten details wrong? Yeah, absolutely, like the Black Templar Ancient.

Straight up fake stuff? Only if we count the times he just lists of stuff he read online/states that he doesn't 100% trust his source.

Having watched the video, I'm pretty confident Cathay could be coming, although I might be a bit biased :D

This would all depend on the supposed "war" between main and specialist teams. If this is true, they won't be able to go with the legacy armies, so something brand new is a safer bet.
