The Rumour Thread

Recommended Posts

My predictions:

AOS:

new Lumineth stuff (all those hammers from the Rumour engines?)

NOT Sons of Behemat ;)

teasers for a Summer campaign

next season of Underworlds

Scions of the Flame for Warcry

40k:

new .5 edition teasers

whatever’s next in psychic awakening

some sort of final expansion for Blackstone before a new box set comes

other:

new Blood bowl and Titanicus/AI

a new game! Definitely

some vague BS for Old World

AoS: Age of Aelves.

Spin off game in which players can only play Aelves. Starter set sees De'ath Aelves vs Apocalypse Aelves.

AoS...GW decides that maybe Nurgle should take a step back for the moment, a move which causes a stark divide amongst the player base.   However, newly revealed Khorne Berzerkers go some way towards molifying fans.

Specialist games tease Dreadfleet III* pitting Aleves against the Plague Fleets of Nurgle.

*Apparently DF 2 did so poorly that most of the gaming community had suppressed any knowledge of it.

Aos

First reveal: Lumineth, 40k 8.5 Edition

second reveal: Umbraleth (Malerion’s Aelves)

Malerions Aelves I would wager has at most a mention of something later on, with the Sons all but confirmed I doubt they would announce 2 brand new armies, maybe at Warhammer Fest.

Tyrion and the full lumineth models. Then first SoB video teaser... and maybe lumineth vs other in a new box (I will say ironjaws or savage orruks).

On the 40k side... next PA and the new Necron lord.

Savage Orruks would be perfect for a battle box.

I just hope the Lumineth will be fully revealed on the first event, and be available for preorder from the following day.

We have been drip-fed for along time, and dragging this further on doesn’t make much sense.

If GW doesn’t release them soon likely they won’t be able to ship anything out anymore. Might be too late already.

They could focus on something else for AoS on the second event.

I would say that they're ready to go with the Lumineth,  though with the global pandemic I could see later releases postponed so perhaps other things they were going to unveil will be kept hidden as to keep the masses banging on the door.

I think that releases that are already planned like Lumineth and Behemat (we have seen transport logs to US) won't be postponed if anything that could speed them up but pandemic might hit future releases with potential closure of factories and transport chain problems involving China, where spells, terrain etc are manufactured.

A lot of it varies.

1) Provided GW's bulk shipments (mostly sent by ship if I recall right rather than aircraft) of stock can make it around the world then local territories can at least have stock from the GW website if not distributed to local stores.

2) Mail order - provided specific country mail order services remain active this side can still function for both GW and 3rd party stores. However it might come about that specific countries get a release, but mail has to sit in waiting until local postal services resume. This might mean a lot of people waiting on orders, although stock should be a known quantity.

3) Factory production in China - this isn't just for the plastics, which GW could leave out. But also for print books, cards, tokens, boxes and such. A shutdown on boxes GW might get around by using domestic stock of white boxes for a time or even drop to regular card and just use plastic wallets. However losing out on things like books would shut down any new codex/battletome related releases.

4) GW's UK factory. It might be forced to shut or staff might have to work from home - so deisgn work could continue, but the actual factory might have to shut down entirely. Of course this stops all production chances of anything and is a full closure.

I suspect GW's stance might be led by the UK market. So as long as that functions the other territories will still get release shipments, notifications etc... It might mean some limited production run items get held up for some countries/regions. It might even be that GW does away with short term limits - eg committing to produce a lot more duel sets rather than just one big production run - so that overseas territories are not left out.

However there's lots of bits that make the whole global system work and its all in chaos at present. It's also very apt to change suddenly and without warning.

That said GW is in a healthy position sitting on many years of good profits and very little in the way of actual debts. So they can likely ride this out quite well. Highstreet rents might be an issue, but quite a lot of landlords are waving/delaying payments on them in light of the current situation. Plus governments are making some funds accessible for stores stuck, though I'm not sure if GW would qualify as they are quite a big retailer.

100% agree.

That video is still up on youtube somewhere. But yeah it was basically a very isolated incident, just internet famous. The majority of armies were sold/stored for the duration; from those that didn't adapt (keeping in mind many armies got torn apart, some were totally removed and it took half a year before a Generals Handbook appeared and longer before 2.0 hit the shelves and was the major turning point)

I remember seeing a video of some guy setting fire to his vampire count army in his garden when the old world went boom and aos being announced....slight overreaction there fella lol.

Yeah, that’s what I referenced ;)

I think it was one of the re-Rolling ones crew that burned his dark elf army. But I might be mixing stories in my mind now.

Yeah, I know they brought back one, but I still think the whole army would be a long shot. So perfect to fight the Zoats in the new 9th edition starter set!

There are three, actually: Techpriest Grombrindel, Ragnir the ammo guy and Grendl the bounty hunter.

I would like Squats, will be full of stuff to diversify AoS dwarven factions.

They just made a joke about it for intro. I don't think any of them would do something like that.

I wouldnt even mind a little taller. Though bulkier would be great, much more thick limbed than the Aleguzzlar.

Agreed. Something with a more stocky, healthier build would be great. Would let the gargants be the degenerate off shoot. But still fit.

That's how I'm envisioning them going forward with the Aleguzzlar. The drunken runt of the litter.
