32 archers for same price as 5 tiny elfs like lumineths hammerers or swordmasters???

that would be way too cheap skinks are fantasy models, more horde than bretonians, and even older, and they cost around 40€ for 24 if im not wrong. so i would expect units of 32 models being in 60€ range, and that would be way too cheap allready for gw standars.

if they release every oldworld troop units in 32s for 50€ i would do a count as lumineth army easily for 120€ or so after discounts in high elf troops.

I am being optimist price whise because if they don't do it that way they will hit the floor pretty hard, imo.

Very true. Maybe they sell them as an armybox, bundeled with resin characters and a bunch of different sprues for 250-300€.

Even though I wasn't really expecting anything from this reveal I can definitely sympathise that there was basically no actual aniversary content or releases.

High level view is that I really liked the AoS stuff and everything else just sort of confirmed why I don't like the other stuff GW has to offer.

The 40k / Kill Teamstuff is just so painfully boring. Aside from the Skiitari guy (who's stupid in the best way possible) the other models are just HD remakes of stuff that already exist. I'm sure there are people that are all over these, but they do absolutely nothing for me.

The new Bretonnia stuff is quite nice, apart from the Handmaiden who looks wierdly floaty, it's not for me, but I can appreciate it. The old stuff next it though, I just think is a little bit embarrasing. It just doesn't look good. It must be a nostalgia thing because I just don't get it. Also, whats the point in a model preview where they are ranked up and I can't see the models.

On the other hand.... The two AoS models previewwed are absolutely great. I still remain unconvinced by Thunderstrike armor ( I thik it makes Stormcast look too normal) Ionus is great and it's a shout-out to what is still my favourite model in the SCE range. Belthanos is basically everything I wanted from new Sylvaneth; another big bug, more actual trees, a Kurnoth hero and most importantly, not a furry-legged elf.

Both fantastic, now just got to work out how I can afford to get my hands on the pair of them.

no, in fact skinks are 35€ only for 24, so 32 skinks should be cloose to 50€.

of course skinks are really ancient sculps with 2-3 pieces only. but there is a slight chance those 32s units be 50€ :) making doing a full oldworld army so much easier than getting 2k in aos new models

I agree.

If they want TOW to be a succes they have to keep the price low for old plastics compared with AoS. So 32 bowmen for 50-60 euro is the way to go. If you have to pay 100+ euro for 32 very old plastics than.. lol yeah, than the game is doa.

Just want to share my thoughts on the AoS part of this reveal.

I like the dragon, would like to see it painted in a classic green colour. Doesnt make want to buy into SCE but i do want more wyverns for destruction now we are getting the dragons back.

Didnt expect a Kurnoth Hunter on an insect but it does look nice. Its not the Qulathis style kurnothi i was hoping for but this is 2nd best.

Didnt really expect much from this reveal since we really got spoiled last time and we are still waiting for CoS. Dont think we will be getting much more this year.

No butcher, why...

Do think we will be seeing lady of ruin hero for StD on some chaos creature and Scyla next book.

So they say this is the whole launch range for Bretonnia. Can someone specify what this term "launch range" means exactly in this context? They haven't shared any information on some of the arguably most iconic Bret characters and units such as the King (on a Hippogryph potentially) himself, the Green Knight, Questing and Grail Knights. It seems weird doing a plastic box of Foot Knights that didn't even exist in WHFB and rereleasing these legendary models in their old sculpts won't you say?

In the article they mention vaguely that other metal heroes and special unit will be available to mo at launch. I do wonder tho is they will get rules or not.  I guess since for potential customers those old plastic kits hold up

ok they didn’t want to show the rest of the range which looks much worse.
I hope for TK they will redo the basic troops cause those skeletons look derpy.

Reading the article, my interpretation is that we've seen all the plastics that are coming back (which Bretonnia didn't have a lot of) and all of the new stuff they'll be getting at launch.

There's also this line from the WarCom article,

Quote

"Alongside these new and returning kits which form the bulk (or entirety) of your force, there will also be a selection of returning metal heroes and specialist units that will be available to order direct from games-workshop.com"

...which I took to mean that things like the Green Knight, Grail Knights and Questing Knights will be coming back as Direct Only metals (unlike the Trebuchet which is being recast in FW resin).

Bretonnia didn't have a big range - not getting new models for literally twelve years will do that - so I'd be very surprised if they're holding back on returning kits, aside from Louen (who wasn't born yet) and apparently the old mounted Damsel (who seems like she'd be a shoe-in for a new resin sculpt at some point post-launch anyway).

With the close proximity of fourth book to mysterious battletome release (I wonder who could it be), I guess that Dawnbringers IV will be about Death.

Maybe these characters don’t live yet in the time period of the game? TOW is at least 2 or 300 years earlier in history before endtimes.

There is another King named Louen the Orcslayer that rules over Bretonnia at this time. The Green Knight has been around Bretonnia since it's inception basically and Questing and Grail Knights have always been around as that is how the Blessing of the Lady is basically earned. So they all exist in the timeline of TOW and need to be properly represented in the game imho.

As a comparison, in the Horus Heresy range the MkIV and MkVI Tactical Squads are sold at €65 (and only €60 for the brand new MkIII Tactical Squads). These are 20-model units with ~six sprues in a box.

In comparison, the old 10-model 40k Tactical Squad is €45 (three sprues), while a modern 10-man Intercessor Squad is €50 (four sprues).

Or the Horus Heresy's Terminator kits are both €70 (10-model, four sprues) while the 40k Terminator Assault Squad is €50 (5-model, ~two sprues) and the new Terminator Squad is €55 (5-model, three sprues).

I have to say the title of the next Dawnbringers book puzzles me. "The Long Hunt", it's the hunt for what ? A new big bad ? A mcguffin that will help or destroy one of the crusades ? I hope it moves the narrative a bit. It's been a very slow burn so far for what's shaping up to be the end of edition campaign.

Hasn't the Stormcast been hunting for a solution to the reforging problem, his dragon to a dragon afterlife, and the bug rider hunting to keep the memory of his god of the hunt alive? Those all seem like long hunts.

Don't forget Slambo's hunt for the Snipe, Karios Fateweaver promised a great boon if he catches it. We all know how trust worthy two headed bird demons can be. Also explaining why the best character has been noticeably absent in the narrative.
