  1. Thanks guys. I agree with Steve that my basing is very functional but nothing to rave about. I have been improving it with my newer armies (for example the snow base for the Slaughterpriest), but for my Order army I am stuck with grey gravel! I have been wondering how I can improve it without starting from scratch again (a lot of my Freeguild models were on square bases for 8th Edition Fantasy - I don't want to rebase them a second time.) Perhaps some Autumnal leaves? If anyone has any recommendations I am all ears
  2. If anything this whole stunt made BoLS come out looking better for it. Call me a sceptic but I do not for one second believe they have a go to GW guy to confirm for them if something is fake or not (if they did wouldn't they run every rumour by them?) But if they saw the confession on Facebook before it hit the wider web they could have safely made the claim that GW told them it was a hoax without worrying about it backfiring. *puts on tinfoil hat*
  3. I am a little in awe of this fake. It is masterfully done with some great artwork and new model concepts hidden within.

    Band of Wizards

Yeah! I am hoping for a more traditional WHQ follow up (Death themed as rumoured). You can bet this motley crew will be dungeon delving if it comes out!

    Band of Wizards

A band of wizards. Wouldn't this be fun to run in a small narrative game? Painted by bottle
  6. The crew for the Hurricanum are too nice to leave glued to their carriage so I magnetised them to allow travel on foot! Painted by bottle
  7. I love collecting and painting heroes for Age of Sigmar and have amassed many more heroes than one would ever reasonably need for army selection. Recently I have been painting Age of Sigmar heroes with magical abilities. Be it Wizards, Mages, Priests or other spellcasters. I thought it would be fun to share my latest additions and also the rest of my collection. The Alchemist and the Acolyte I am currently working on a Hurricanum for the 'Age of Santa' tournament in December. While the Hurricanum has a little way to go, I did manage to finish off the crew already. These are fantastic sculpts by GW and it was too much of a shame to have them permanently glued into their carriage so I magnetised each so they could go on foot too (something I did with my Steamtank Pilot as well). I hope to play a narrative game in the future with these on foot, (perhaps escorting the acolytes to safety from a town under siege!) The Slaughter Priest This is my free Slaughterpriest from White Dwarf. I was over the moon to get this with the issue as I have been daydreaming about collecting a small Bloodbound force for a while. I was really happy with how he came out, especially the snow on the base which was made from mixing Baking Soda with PVA glue. He was entered into the TGA painting competition and although I failed to make a splash, I was lucky enough to win a box of Gorechosen (thanks @Ben!) which is being worked on as I type this. Archmage This model was also given to me for free, and it is one of my favourite sculpts from Island of Blood. The paint scheme was taken from an image search (which I often do if I find a good one). I wasn't too happy with my attempts to glaze the armour, but overall the finished model came out nicely and won me 3rd place on DakkaDakka's monthly painting competition. Wizard Collection To finish, here is my total collection of Wizards (so far). The Necromancer is sometimes used as an Amethyst Wizard (named Cornacaprious in my army lore; a Death Wizard slowly being corrupted by the necromatic magic of the book he carries). The old Alarielle is a great model despite the bad resin (unfortunately I did not straighten the staff before painting), which I often use as a Lore of Life wizard. Moving forward I already have more wizards in the works. A Bretonnian Damsel (to again be used as a Lore of Life wizard) is on my painting desk now! Thanks for reading! - bottle
  8. Looks like a Stormcast Celestial Mage! Unless that artwork has appeared in a campaign book or is from a fan deviant art, I guess it's real! Can't wait. :-)
  9. They look fantastic Steve! I love the basing, but I would say you probably didn't need to use the new bases, as the addition of snow, tufts and skulls on top pretty much conceals everything underneath
  10. It looks like a great addition I did consider adding in a Necromunda/Mordheim style pinned/down/out-of-action style system but decided not to to keep the deviations from the core AoS rules to as few as possible. I think one neat idea might be to include a "House Rules" section like the GHB does and include great additions like this in there. Thanks for the input!
  11. Those giant spray cans seem cool, but imagine trying to get them well shaken before spraying... you're gonna be jumping round your garden looking like Darth Maul.
  12. They look fantastic! Is this an army posted on DakkaDakka at some point?
  13. Of course! I would be honoured if you did, and thrilled to give your videos a watch. Don't be shy to change any rules you think don't work or just don't suit your style I look forward to seeing anything you do with this.
  14. Hey Dez, that's fantastic to hear! And do let me know how you get on, no doubt you'll want to change some rules either due to preference or because they don't quite work. I am all ears to improving this :-) Also, I just love to see any warbands you guys create for this.
  15. Looks fantastic! The face in particular. Can't wait to see more, this whole thread is filled with gems.
  16. Greetings everyone, I have something to share with you all today which is very special to me as I have put a lot of work into this. I present my gaming supplement for Age of Sigmar titled: Hinterlands: Skirmish Campaigns in the Mortal Realms - Version 1 Here are some screenshots of what to expect: This is a supplement to play narrative skirmish games in Age of Sigmar, and I've tried to make it look like the real deal. Enclosed you will find not one, but two campaign systems outlined. The first (titled 'The Hinterlands Campaign') is akin to Mordheim or Frostgrave. Players can create a Warband of a dozen models and battle it out for treasure, gaining skills and experience but also running the risk of injury and death on the way. The rules for the Hinterlands Campaign are 4 pages long. Just like the core rules. This is not meant to be Mordheim transplanted into AoS, but a skirmish system that embraces everything I love about Age of Sigmar. You'll find Battletraits, Artefacts, and Time of War rules all have a place in the system. On top of that, the book also introduces a second way to play; the Realm Master Campaign. The Realm Master Campaign is an additional 2 pages of rules (plus a custom battleplan to set your imagination off) and details how to run an RPG set in the Mortal Realms. It is akin to D&D or Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, but is a simple system set firmly in Age of Sigmar at the same time. I would love to know your feedback and thoughts on the rules contained. And if you want to use them, please do! This is what they are here for! I plan to work on this book further by adding in a hobby section with example Warbands and also a Warband Roster to help manage your games. If you have any more ideas please let me know. Blog Introduction

Welcome to the Hinterlands. In this blog you'll find painted miniatures, fluff, rules and more, all for Age of Sigmar! Some of you may have followed my previous blog over on Dakkadakka ("Siegfried's Desperados" - link), this is my attempt to start a new blog that is on both TGA and Dakkadakka simultaneously. It is also my attempt to make my best blog to date! It's going to revolve around big monthly updates, so it will hopefully be something to look forward to (like a White Dwarf, but the subscription is free!). I am trying to make everything as professional looking as possible because I would love to eventually work for Games Workshop's design team :-) If you followed my last blog Age of Sigmar - Siegfried's Desperados, you can expect the same great content but this time with a widened scope. I'll be building multiple armies now (at least one for each of the Grand Alliances) as well as sharing other types of media like custom battleplans and PDF downloads! So stay tuned. More to come...
  18. Yeah, I've been using my "D&D" dice for wounds for ages now
  19. Yeah £15 doesn't seem too bad. In the end I am not going to get the set as I am not a fan of the Tzeentch setting (would have preferred a more generic Dungeon setting), but some of the miniatures are excellent and would make great additions to my armies and might purchase them individually.

    Skullreapers

    These look so freaking bad-ass!
  21. I've seen them being sold at £60+, and people probably went for it after the FAQ made them free to use. I am also glad to see them back but think it should be pointed - otherwise it's a boring autoinclude. If GW leaves them unpointed they will no doubt fly off the shelves.
  22. Just popping in to say your dire wolves are fantastic!

    Aelves vs Chaos

I love it. Great job. Post some more scene shots if you have them :-)
