  1. Hi all, I grabbed some really old sprues (and a few new ones) and scratched built a Curseling (left) as well as a Fatemaster (right). I tries to give them the weapon / equipment which is named on the warscroll or which you can see on the original models. I also own a 10 men Chaos Warriors unit made out of these old but still beautiful models. HTG
  2. Can cogs be auto cast at the beginning of the game? Because that's the selling point of Tome of Eyes for me. I'm actually painting a 1250 pts force led by Cursling Magister, cult demagogue, arcane tome That way Magister is able to cast 2 to 3 spells per turn without fear to become a spawn. Unbindable casts on a double with rerolls (Tome of Eyes) seem to be pretty awesome.
  3. Well, I bought this book just to be able to field my flamers / exalted flamers. I don´t care wether this might be a good idea or not, it´s just so that I can utilize my whole collection. Points are tight and the heros are expensive. I feel you can´t get everything you like to. It also seems to me that with each iteration of Tzeentch Battletomes the army starts to become smaller. I like – in no particular order: Curseling, cause he gets full rerolls natively and he´s a 2 caster. Give him the trait that brings undeniable casts on doubles. Fluxmaster due to his spell that gives you fate points. Magister, cause he offers a spell to summon spawns. And I love spawns. I own a pretty large collection of them. Kairos due to the fact that he´s a better LoC in any way. Changeling: a 2 cast and mobility shenangans. Though no warscroll spell which limits his 2 cast. Fatemaster just for the +1 to wound. I guess you have to have a plan and choose your heroes according to it. For example I like the idea of spawn summoning and rerolls on casting, therefore I´m thinking about Kairos / LoC with Tome of Eyes (endless spell, automatically cast first round to get rerolls), Curseling, Magister. That´s already at least 695 points spent (and up to 750 if Kairos / disc for Magister). And that´s too much, because we only play 1000 to 1250 points in my area. If I´d like to go the summoning route via fate points, I think I´d choose Kairos, Curseling, Fluxmaster. Ranged damage output Curseling (endless spells and his own shooting attack), Kairos/LoC, Fatemaster. Therefore I think I´m going to scratch build a Curseling these days and buy a Kairos/LoC just to get the basics. Kairos / LoC and Curseling also heavily ****** with opponents magic / endless spells. If curseling succesfully casts a spell during opponents turn via his ability, the opponent even can´t dispell it because warscrolls tell that dispelling is only "in your opponents turn". HTG
  4. Hi all, I thought I had read a rule that Gotrek in a Fyreslayers army profit from every Fyreslayers rule. But I can´t find it. Am I mistaken here?
  5. Hi, I like to proxxy the Rotmire Creed, too, and these are my ideas: Ungor Raiders (basically the same approach as yours) with spare heads of Plaguebearers Skaven Plague Monks with the bows from Ungors Maybe a mix of both might work. The problem with Grashnaky Despoilers as well as generic Ungors is that both of these units can be fielded in a Nurgle army, meaning these units could lead to false assumptions regarding their rules.
  6. So you´re all headeing for that one sorcerer to be able to deny some spells? Or do you use him offensively, too?
  7. Hi all, which Sorcerers from the SCE range do you regularly use? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi all, just a short question: Are the (now) seperately sold Vindictors the same models like the ones in the 3rd edition starter set? Do they have 1 or 2 banners in the sprue per 10 men troop?
  9. Absolutely love this list! It includes all the faction´s models I really love. Thanks for sharing! I have to have a look here... HTG
  10. Keeper of Secrets Great Unclean One (own three of them) Beast of Nurgle Downside of all these models: they can´t really build them in different poses like the mentioned Rock Troggoths. That´s a bit boring if you like to build multiple of them. The new large SCE DRagon is one of these models that could draw me into a whole new faction. And that is THE reason for best model kit IMO.
  11. You could ditch the killbow, which is nothing but a gamble at best.
  12. maybe have a look at "can you roll a crit" blog
  13. Sorry, I do not have a reddit account, therefore I ask my questions here: You wrote: Round 1, prioritize inspiration (Fjul and Tefk ofc!) and glory denial. Scoring is nice, but almost optionnal. Round 2, prioritize fights (one-shoting enemies) and scoring (with perfectly sculpted hands), then again, inspiration... Round 3, still prioritize fights and scoring, but also keep a close eye on glory denial. 1.) What do you mean by "glory denial" and how can I do this? 2.) How do get your "perfectly sculpted hands"? Card draw and card cycling is pretty rare in underworlds, isn´t it? Thanks in advance! -------------------- After more than 2 years of not playing any game I had some games last week against newly interested people. And what do I have to say? I still love the Chosen Axes. They were my first painted warband and my most often played one. Though I have to admit that The Wurmspat is a close second these days. And today I bought Kainan´s Reapers... :)
  14. Sorry, underworlds of course. It's the underworlds subforums here, isn't?
  15. Hi all, what is the best "magic" warband? Thanks in advance!
  16. There is also that new Fyreslayer Dude that allows to rally on a 4+. Unfortunately his other rules have no synergies with SCE. --------------------- Short question: Why don´t I see any Evocators in lists these days? What´s wrong with them?
  17. Hi all, is it now possible to run the Wqarcry Warbands as battleline in StD? I´ve seen a list doing so but I can´t find the appropriate rules.
  18. Hi, what about Fiends of Slaanesh? Are they any good? I like the models and therefore I´m about to start a Slaanesh army built around them. Might this be a good idea? Cheers, HTG
  19. Where can I find the rules for the Kruelboyz?
  20. Hi guys, I absolutely love Daemon Princes. And it seems that Std is their home. On the other hand, Deamon Princes seem to be not that good regarding their rules. Is there any chance to successfully play a force with some Daemon Princes?
  21. Well, due to Covid restrictions I can't even play, so why should I theory raft a lot of lists? The book offers some possible themed builds and I like the fact that I can now have an easy to transport and rather elitish list. That's something I wanted to have for a long time. And I do not enter tournaments in AoS, therefore the limitations in competitive play doesn't really interest me that much. All in all I have to say that I'm happy with this update. I got more offensive units (even with their high pricing) and all rules are in one book (at least for a couple of weeks). Though a lot of stuff seems to be rather gimmicky.
  22. I think that GUOs are heavily overcosted. I honestly can´t see a reason that I have to field one. On damage per points basis they offer poor melee presence (though they are one of the few rend -2 units in our book which might be important based on your meta), they are mediocre wizards and I can hardly see their support role. That beeing said you can tool out one (like any other demon general) to spread out some mortal wounds in the shooting phase, though rather short ranged. Have in mind that you can get a Gargant instead of that second GUO! OR Belakor which is even less expensive than a second GUO. Our book offers some kind of debuffing / denial, therefore Belakor might be a good choice if you like to go that route. I did some maths and find out that Orgott, Morbidex, Blightkings, Plaguedrones, Pusgoyle Blightlords and Beasts of Nurgle are – in that order – the best damage dealers we have (ONLY COUNTING BASE MELEE ATTACKS, so no additional MW by special rules). Maths was done on a damage per 100 point basis against a 4+ save. These are also the most ressilient units (though in a different order), meaning you can´t go wrong with any of these units. Good call here! No, it won´t. If two effects are triggered by the same trigger, you have to dicide for one. If one of these effects is an opposing one, the active player decides which effect takes place. Nevertheless, if you can get a MW in the melee phase opposed to the 50% chance of a MW at the end of the round, which one would you choose? you can also enhance a blob of Plaguebearers with that combo: once per game +1 attack command trait Scrivener´s +1 attack ability Bilepiper´s MW on 6 to wound ability This alone wil give you 0.25 MW per fighting Plaguenbearer (which is still awful compared to Kruelboyz) and that general prayer will further increase this to around 0.75 MW per PLaguebearer. But it´s costly and needs lots of setup to work. To much ifs for me. I´m going to get a second unit of Chaos Warhounds soon because they are the best screen you can get. 10 models on large bases for 80 points that automatically run 6" and already offer high MOV? Yes please!
