  1. I am just burnt out on new models at this point and just cannot justify another force (I do think Kruelboyz are very neat and certainly worthy of picking up.... at some point in the future). There is just a lot of uncertainty on how my current factions will perform (some more obvious than others) and I mostly want to play around with and develop what I have, rather than jump into something completely new when there could potentially be so many "half complete" armies left in the wake of 3.0 changes. As a counterpoint to others I was more than ready for a 3.0 shakeup of my local meta. Many players of weaker factions were dropping out of attendance (ex: sylvaneth players) and very dominant army archetypes (shooting or magic-centric) were taking over and being played ad nauseum. Even at just a few games a week this was becoming obvious and was leaking over from the tournament contenders to the casual crowd (just to compete). I cannot wait for the new rules and learning a new system. But it does inject a LOT of uncertainty on faction construction and whether purchases will need to be made to adapt to that system.
  2. I would definitely say it doesn't work. As it still stipulates that a command ability cannot be used more than once in a phase which is different keywording than "issued"/received. If they meant issued/received they would have said it that way. This looks pretty airtight to me in that the same command ability just cannot be used in any way twice in the same phase (ergo it can be issued/received but cannot actually be "used" by the receiving unit meaning its effect fizzles).
  3. Personally. I believe the coherency was introduced to limit a lot of factions from going full murder blob. It has been a big complaint circling my old AoS group that AoS was becoming too lethal. Units that did not immediately cripple or evaporate what they charged into were "pillow fisted" and units rarely stuck around for more than a turn (exceptions like HG beserkers and some characters etc.). I think the coherency is to stop full frontage wraps (rather than limit screen efficacy as it really doesn't stop that from happening) and make people shift their mindset to treating the backlines as more "replacement warriors" to retain efficacy after a few losses or "extra ablative wounds" over pure damage improvements like it was in the past. Obviously this didn't really hit the 25mm based units which is a bit troublesome but that base size is already basically a super power so maybe it was something they compromised on. Who knows. But this is my feelings on this. (obviously I am a bit removed from the emotion of the coherency change as I previously played 3 mega 3 mini gargant list and now am building my 4th mega for maximum meganess).
  4. As long as points don't change for megas in my *Sons of Behemat army it is exclusively buffs. Makes the original points cost on my Megas make sense if these are the buffs they get in the new edition. Extra monster actions, extra hero actions, better generic artifacts to make use of, battalions we can actually use, lots of rules to mess with coherency while basically ignoring coherency ourselves. Big buff in the form of stacking -1 to hit disappearing while simultaneously more options to defend ourselves and give us +1 to hit/save. Some generic healing that can be attempted each turn to get more out of them. A bigger premium on rend (which we have in spades). Smaller board to get stuck in faster and start the attrition game while still keeping our capturing rules on steroids. More command points on average to spend in a faction starved for points originally. Its just buffs all the way down. I am a bit afraid they will destroy what little list building potential we have by making the megas more expensive though. I do not think it will come to pass but its a definite fear.
  5. Some RUMOUR SOURCES* have indicated most factions will increase by some amount of points. Similar to 40k back when it had its edition change. Some I suspect will not change significantly (ex: SoB as they cannot radically alter points for such a limited force without cutting off ~20%? possible list configurations and many of the rest required CP purchases which I have also heard are on their way out of listbuilding).
  6. I just see people moving back to movement trays for the most part to handle coherency. Seems simple enough. Its fast and you can literally construct them to be perfectly spaced for coherency. Only gets muddy once you hit combat but piling in and ranges have always been the most finicky part of AoS so I do not think it will have a huge impact on the time investment for a game.
  7. This reinforcements news (if real) is the best thing I've heard yet. It immediately banishes my fears about command ability stuff like Unleash hell and too many deathstar lists (granted they can still exist it will just be a bit more limited than blob 1 & blob 2 camp Obj 1 and Obj 2 come get some).
  8. I am excited for 3.0 but do have some concerns. They mention that there is some form of CP generation/bonus generation in the works for passing the double turn. But, realistically, a lot of very good factions (ex: Seraphon) and some less than good factions (ex: Gloomspite) can generate a very large sum of command points and may not be incentivized to take the the second turn regardless of the command point bonus. This also plays into how the new generic battalions will work - will they still confer the artifacts and command points? Or will we be buying those separately (or not at all?). I also know that not all artifacts are equal and assigning a generic points value to all of them would be a mistake as some are just flat out better than others so I do not see them untying them from battalions just yet. I just hope they REALLY do something to make the double worth passing up. Remember endless spells? Well that flopped. Then on top of it they doubled back and just released spells that couldn't even effect their own faction (making it worthless for the opponent to take control of them) or could not even BE controlled by the opponent (also worthless for incentivizing passing the double as they cannot be used to harm your forces and you could use half of your own spells anyway - bound/OBR spells). Reactions have me excited though - Finally something to do in the enemies turn
  9. They would both get the cover save
  10. Wait they have destroy terrain by just moving over terrain? Really kinda takes away from the giants tbh it was kind of one of their things.
  11. I guess you don't play a lot of factions that have no CP generation then. You might as well not have command abilities
  12. Correct. Its the same thing for units. Use all available weapons. Roll hits/wounds, enemy rolls saves. Damage is added to the damage pool. Once all weapons are used the damage as a large pool is applied. Invuln saves (if there are any) are made. Only then are models removed and Death Frenzy procs.
  13. If I understand correctly you are asking if you need to let death frenzy resolve between each weapon profile on the Warboss yes? The answer is no. You attack with all your available weapon profiles and all wounds dealt (and not saved) enter a damage pool that applies after the model/unit has completed all its attacks (and saves are rolled) which is then applied to the unit. The unit can then make any after saves (wards/shrugs/invulnerables) before casualties are removed.
  14. I prefer variety as mirror matches with the same strategy can get dull quickly. But I won't begrudge anyone picking up a same army if that's what they want to play.
  15. *Cries in Beasts of Chaos and Skaven miniatures that are old enough to drink.*
  16. You can kick multiple objectives but you cannot "chain:" kick an objective between 2 giants as the requirement is that the objective kicked is within 1" of a krakeneater and it cannot land within 1" of another model. But if you have 2 Kraken eaters on 2 different objectives you can kick both of them individually.
  17. Sons of behemat player. But I also play Tamurkhans hordes (for the fat dragon toad master himself). Didn't see them represented though (I clicked on maggotkin of nurgle to simulate it). THERE ARE DOZENS OF US I SWEAR DOZENS OF US.mp4 .
  18. As much as I would love to have miscasts back it would just be punishing the already lacklustre factions without turbo casters as they have rules and bonuses that would heavily negate miscasting possibilities (rerolls, huge casting bonuses, free casts ala teclis). Unless there was a clever way of introducing miscasts regardless of bonuses or rules I can't see it working with the current system. Magic is a bit of a mess in AoS
  19. Supremely Jealous. Congrats! I love big detailed centrepiece minis and this guy is on my bucket list after the megas are done. One day. One day....
  20. Bring back tamurkhan's model as a new (or reborn) character or even just as a generic lord on Toad Dragon. I miss being able to reasonably bust him out as he is one of my favourite sculpts of all time. As for brand new give us some more giant variants, some giant sea krakens for Iodoneth, some oldschool Dragons maybe under fyreslayers to expand the range? Would ft with the lore of their god defeating Vulcatrix but I know GW shies away from implied enslavement in their newer lore (other than death ofc).
  21. Craziest part is that sometimes the sub-faction "punishment" artifacts/command abilities are the best ones in the book anyway. Which just makes it a win win win. Give em a points cost.
  22. I would say both as the Prime Necrophoros refers to the rule in its entirety rather than just part of it (and although the second part of the Katakros rule specifies Mortis Praetorians they are just a subfaction of Ossiarch Bonereapers after all and the units would by extension still have the Ossiarch Bonereapers keyword and be affected as they are both Mortis Praetorians and Ossiarch Bonereapers). However RAW it could be implied it only affects Ossiarch Bonereapers portion which is kind of silly.
  23. Cost added if they keep them in their current incarnations. Taking a non-sub faction list in many armies with them available is crippling yourself and I do not trust GW to release evenly balanced sub factions without a "cost" lever to help them quickly reign it in if its over-performing (gristlegore, petrifax, hag nar etc.) Yes I am aware most of the boogeymen I listed were EVENTUALLY reigned in by complete rules overhauls or nerfs but we suffered for them for months and months.
  24. Greenstuff/Milliput for conversion work. I do a lot of conversions and reposing
