  1. Ideally, terrain rules should just been seen as another allegiance trait (just with a physical component), and balanced around that.
  2. Similar to Tzaangors and Stormcast Liberators and Sequiors, as long as you have a shield in the unit (2 in the Warriors case), the whole unit benefits.
  3. There were sources posted at the time it came out, and it was common knowledge. A video from the writers saying it was finished and ready while Gloomspite was still being pieced together, which perfectly explains all the discrepancies between it, and the books released immediately before and after it.
  4. The reason for this is that GW completed and sat on the GHB months before relese. It was finished before books they released before it.
  5. I think a LoN revisit would make the individual legions more unique, and restrict what units each can and cannot take (like LoG). Biggest complaint with Legions (like Stormcast), is that many of the warscrolls are practically untouched since 0 edition AoS. This results in several units simply not having a role, or filling the EXACT same role as another unit. So those units go unused.
  6. Thats because GW never bothered to update the warscrolls to match the actual rules. All Summon X abilities such as the one listed on the Pink Horror warscroll (were pretty much on all daemons, undead, and lizardmen) have been stricken from the game.
  7. One sad thing is that the Chaos Sorcerer Lord went from affecting keyword CHAOS, to only affecting StD units. So look like I will be binning mine.
  8. Azyr is always bugged in some way or another it seems (and even when its not GW is infamous for leaving outdated info all over the place), and Warscroll builder is maintained by a member of these forums, its simply hosted on the community site.
  9. It is kind of odd that they have let BOTH of the poster boys of the edition (SC and NH) languish so hard and so long. People hardcore freaked out about Sequitors, Evocators, and Reapers (mostly because of how they were abused alongside Nagash himself in a Grandhost, rather than an actual NH army) a year and a half ago when they dropped, and well here we are.
  10. At least on the shield affecting a whole unit, and not actually needing to be removed to use its effects, this is nothing new. Liberators have worked like that since launch, and Sequitors work like that now. Tzaangors began working like that when BoC changed their warscroll.
  11. I dont consider AoS 1st edition to have started until the first GHB. Things before and after the first GHB were VERY different, just as different as pre/post 2nd edition. Many of the Stormcast warscrolls are relatively unchanged since the launch of the game, during what I call 0 edition (much like D&D had a 0 edition, that was radically different from anything else).
  12. The real problem is that many of the SC warscrolls have not had any significant changes since they were first conceived. For the warrior and extremis releases, this is early 0 edition, and for Vanguard its early 1st edition. They were written to operate under a completely different game state, and have not had the adequate upgrades to join the modern game. SC are not the only ones with this problem (its also something Legions deals with, which is why they have so many units you never see on the table), but SC are probably the largest offender.
  13. Liberators are also on 40mm bases vs Warriors 32mm. Something else to consider. But yes, Liberators have been bad since the last 3rd of 1st edition. The only thing that held them up there was Vanguard Wing. However there are plenty of people that have insisted they are fine and that its just every battleline in all the modern tomes being OP thats the problem, not Libs being too weak.
  14. I think what he is saying is that due to double turn mechanic, characters and units relying on hero phase healing might end up having to tank that many phases before they can use their healing. And as most units can't, those healing abilities are less relevant.
  15. Named characters do indeed get mount traits, just as they can select spells. Mount traits are neither command traits or artifacts, just as spells are not.
  16. Last I saw Azyr only contains the full rules for stuff you can download off the GW website (so basically just warscrolls). If you want a builder that contains a complete rules reference, I would recommend battlescribe.
  17. The double turn as it stands or the threat of one is ALWAYS a decisive factor of the game, because it places the player going first perpetually on the back foot as they have to play assuming their opponent will get two turns in a row, while their opponent only has to plan for 1 enemy turn.
  18. If the double turn is going to stay, I would just say that all attacks are -1 to hit and all spells are -1 to cast, if taking that 2nd turn in a row, to represent your units overexerting themselves.
  19. Briar Queen and thorns are bought together for 150 points.
  20. Warhammer Fantasy did not have alternating activation's. At all.
  21. What about running them as cold one knights? They are also mounted elves with lance and shield. And pretty sure they are sticking around.
  22. The spell lore rules say a Tzeentch sorcerer in a Tzeentch army may take a spell from the appropriate lore depending on its other keywords (mortal/arcanite or demon). Even though the Herald of Tzeentch is summoned, he still meets all the criteria. He is a Tzeentch wizard. He is in a Tzeentch army. Therefore he can select a spell (specifically from the Demon lore). Similarly, he can make use of Destiny Dice (which again only effect Tzeenthc models in Tzeentch armies).
  23. The commentary is addressing models that DID have points, like the GoS with glass, and GS with familiars. If it completely overrode the GHB, then even new battletomes would be illegal.
  24. Just going to point at that looking at an army having access to summoning and saying it automatically makes it unfair is missing a lot about the game. There are plenty of ways to balance out summoning, such as strength of units, other army special rules, lack of play in certain phases of the game, etc. If you think an army with summing should automatically get a 50% increase in costs on all models, how much of an increase should an army get that has the ability to completely dictate the enemies shooting phase? The game is complex and filled with tons of moving parts that add up to a whole. There are plenty of other games out there that have managed fair free summoning, and it usually is not addressed trough points costs. HoS has some issues though.
  25. So the argument for gravesites working on allied units was that the allegiance ability is granted to the gravesites themselves, rather than your units. However there is this bit in the Legions FAQ: Q: Can I use the Deathless Minions, Endless Legions and Invigorating Aura battle traits for allies in a Legions of Nagash army? A: No. However, note that several Nighthaunt units can now be taken as part of a Legions of Nagash army, and you can use those battle traits for those units (see the Legions of Nagash errata). So the answer is NO you cannot.
