That image was taken from someone's YouTube video. It was their idea of what a potential roadmap could look like. Internet being internet, someone took that photo out of context and posted it as a 'rumour'.

Having said that, I doubt we'll be getting a roadmap anytime soon, as their other games haven't received one this year either. Dwarfs I imagine will be next month, and I assume HE or WoC at least a month after AoS 4th is released, so August/September?

Sounds great to me. 🙂

Yeah. Seems the most likely scenario. Even the order could change. I am not 100% sure the next ones would be HE and WoC. If they are the picked one, as it seems they are releasing first the "Baddies", it would be WoC imo.

The next release will probably be an "evil" faction, so Warriors of Chaos or Beastmen. I am looking forward to both.

I wonder if any of those two would recieve a plastic kit and which resin characters could be released with it.

I would love to see a plastic Chaos dragon. There is no AoS entry for that, so no conflicting sales. But I fear this is a bit to optimistic 😄

I don't think we will see a plastic kit for Beastmen.

Yeah. I also have the feeling this will be their plastic kit:

Beastlord

And even if we don’t get a chaos dragon,

I’d suggest having s look at one of petes the wargamers video.

if I remember correctly he converts the new stormcast on small dragon i to a chaos lord on chaos dragon

We already know that this will be repackaged. It doesn't count as a new plastic kit. If there is a new plastic kit it would maybe be a Cockatrice or something like that, but don't think that those are big sellers. I have no idea what could be released in plastic for Beastmen.

I am very curious what they would do with the Beastmen Arcane Journal. Imo the O&G Arcane journal is the best one yet. It adds two really different playstyles to O&G.

It be awesome if that’s the case.

Although the cockatrice is one of the newer fantasy kits if I remember correctly.

it was released with the ghorgon sometimes during the 8th edition if I remember correctly

Yes, but it was only released in finecast. So it would be in re-released in proper resin or maybe metal.

My guess for BoC is an O&G style release i.e. no new plastics at all, a couple of new resin characters (one named, one generic). I get the distinct impression GW have labeled them as an unpopular faction (why else would AoS willingly drop them from their range rather than keeping them as a dual system faction like S2D is in all but name). Hopefully I'm wrong though.

If I were being more optimistic, I could see GW releasing a plastic Tuskgor/Razorgor Chariot kit that can also construct a character on foot and, if you decide to go with Tuskgors, can be used to assemble Razorgors as a standalone unit. That replaces an old resin kit, gives official support to one that is currently unsupported, and gets rid of the awful Razorgor mini, plus gives an extra character option.

I didn't we'll get a plastic unit, but if I'm wish listing I'll say that if like to see Centigors get plastic sculpts (also Gors, but that ain't going to happen).

As for WoC, I think they're decently likely to get some plastic releases because I think they're viewed as a fairly popular faction (of the "evil" factions perhaps the most popular). I don't think we'll see Asavar Kul, I think he'll come later in a campaign book. I also doubt they'll recreate in plastic anything which has an AoS counterpart (Lord on Daemonic Mount for example), though I could see resin versions that fit TOW bases better.

For plastic, I think a paired character kit with a Chaos Steeds and the ability to build a battle standard seems likely (hopefully a Champion and Wizard, both who can either ride the Steed or be on foot, and the Champion can be given a banner) as that covers an obvious gap in the range. We'll get at least one named character (probably in resin), but I could see the Arcane Journal containing five (one for each mark) with more than one getting a mini at this stage.

I could see a Chaos Dragon kit: it's be a popular enough lot amongst collectors that it could justify the cost.

I kinda doubt we'll get any plastic unit kits though. Chaos is very well served by AoS and whilst officially the two shall never meet, I think there's a tacit understanding that people will but AoS stuff to use in their armies anyway. Maybe Forsaken will be given a facelift?

Of course they might introduce entirely new stuff in the Arcane Journal, and whilst so far they've expect that to be handled with conversions, they might buck that trend and release a kit. I think WoC are far more likely to get a plastic unit kit than BoC.

Of course this is all speculation. I think all that we can fairly safely say is we'll get resin characters for both 😄

I'm 99% certain they won't release any new kits in metal. The Bretonnian foot character was an old sculpt, so an exception, but at this stage I think anything newly sculpted for TOW will be plastic it, more likely, FW resin.

@JerekKruger I would also bet on WoC getting a plastic set instead of Beastmen. A Chaos dragon would be perfect. But a plastic  foot/mounted champions and sorcerer set would also be amazing. Even better if the champion and sorcerer set are seperate.

As a StD player in AoS, I am really looking forward what they will do with WoC Arcane journal. I certainly could see an expanded spell lore for the chaos gods. Tzeentch could have it's seperate spell lore like troll magic in O&G Arcane journal.

For beastmen a plastic Tuskgor/Razorgor chariot or centigor set would be great. But this is probably very unlikely.

Maybe, just maybe there were a couple of designs already finished for BoC in AoS, but were never put in production. If those were already designed they could release it for TOW, although this would be quite painful for the BoC players.

I’m really hoping we’ll see the return of Ghorros Warhoof and Khazrak One-Eye.

I’m not sure what the life expectancy is of a Beastman but maybe they could show up

Wouldn't it be swell if we get kicked to ToW and then ignored there too.

I think it’s likely there is going to be a centigor chieftain released if only because that’s the only hero that doesn’t have a mini.

IMO it will depend on the order of the release. If Beastmen are the next ones after Dawis, then no. Of they go after WoC and HE, then very likely 2-3 resin models.

Ghorros Warhoof is totally alive and kicking (and drinking, and...) during this time. A plastic kit that let you build him or a generic centigor chieftain would be nice.

Has he been mentioned in the lore already?

I'm like the Chaos Gods, or GW themselves in that I sometimes need reminding Beastmen exist, and had forgotten they even had special characters outside of Khazrak, Morghur and Gorthor (or even had a 7th ed army book...). Exhumed my Beastman army book out of a very dusty box, and Ghorros is indeed quite old, I'll add him to the Special Character Bingo OP right away!

Nope, but according to the book on my lap 'His unnaturally long life has spanned many centauries', and 'many' is more than two, so he's fair game to show up :D 👍

Yeah it'll be interesting to see what they do for the Armies of Infamy. I could see them bugging the current trend if only including two, and doing four, one for each God, perhaps with some "official" daemons. Alternatively maybe they'll be more creative.

Fleshed out spell lores would be great too.

Agreed. That's what I'd like to see, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah. To me, it seems WoC and Empire will have a special treatment. That's why I think both will be the last 2 books.

I'm hoping they keep the whole civil war angle, and give us some interesting stuff around that. In particularly, flesh out Talabecland (Middenland is already likely, and Reikland is kinda the default). Let's learn more about what those Taal worshipping woodsmen are like!

There were rumours about a new plastic war machine, right? That and the civil war approach is the only rumoured thing for the Empire unless I missed something.
