Odd, just went to browse the webstore and the queue system is in effect.

Is there a big release pre-order today I've forgotten about?

Seems too last minute to be Christmas shopping what with the final delivery dates all passed.

I think a new Space Marine squad dropped 🤷

It happened to me since like 10-11 hours ago. It doesn't last for long, just 1-3 minutes, but it is there. Maybe it is receiving DDOS attacks?

Oh yeah, I'm in now and you're right. Spacecast Eternals scouts in the killteam box.

Also a bunch of nids from the launch, now available as individual units.

And more importantly (for me) the new Scorpions :D

A slice of fried truth, right there. I'd trade a limb for a generic mounted Hedonites hero.

Your sacrifice is greatly appreciated by all other Hedonites players :D

FORGIVE ME OH IMPERISHABLE ONE! I MEANT IT ONLY AS A JEST!! I SWEAR BY LONG LOST NEHEKHARA(!!!!!) THAT I EAGERLY AWAIT THE RETURN OF OUR GLORIOUS ARMY AND PLAN TO BUY TWO OF THE NEW DRAGON KIT!!!!

@MitGas careful my friend, he might send the kangaroo knights or the sun-wukong wannabe after you for that burn.

I think at this point I'd definitely deserve to be put in front of a Lumineth kangaroo court! 😄 But hey, life as a brimstone horror is hard as it is!

Id rather not have more named characters at this point. AoS as a whole needs more customizable generic heroes

Dual kits are the perfect solution IMO! Like Lyrior Uthralle/Vanari Lord Regent, King Brodd/Mega Gargant, Gordrakk/Megaboss on Maw Krusha, Gobsprakk/Vulcha, Eternus, Vengorian Lord/Lauka Vai, Great Unclean one/Rotgius, etc. Best of both worlds, everybody gets what they want! One more generic version, one fancy version and a lot more sprues for kitbashing!

And some factions actually do need named heroes. Fyreslayers, Ogors, Beasts don't even have any named characters.

And then there are some BL characters (e.g. Maleneth, Hamilcar, Callis&Toll) who REALLY deserve a model too

I find that kind of dual kit a bit boring. They normally end up having 2 builds that look too similar between them, IMO. So I would prefer individual kits rather than dual ones unless they find a way to give it a massive change between the options.

I‘d really like to have heroes not be in „tiers“ - in AoS you‘re kinda only a proper hero if you got a huge base and some critter with you. I liked that in WHFB your hero could just be a single dude walking on his own and still show flashy posers who‘s boss! Dunno if GW feels this more cinematic or it‘s a sales decision but I liked guys like Aekhold Helbrass back then. Right now very few heroes on foot feel like proper murder-machines. Maybe vamps and FEC heroes… I miss how badass Tzeentchian heroes used to be. Not just supreme sorcerers but also deadly in close combat! Now we‘re usually a bunch of nerds with chicken feet! 😂

What's the deal with these rumour engines. Will everything that's been teased be revealed at Christmas?

So last year we had 3 articles/video teaser , one for each main system: AoS / HH / 40K

On 28th/29th/30th December

This was for AoS/Mortal Realms: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/12/28/whats-in-store-for-warhammer-age-of-sigmar-in-2023/

They don't have to be. Eternus is a great example. But if there is going to be a generic hero release, an extra sprue to make them into a named hero as well is just a bonus.

I personally prefer named to generic characters exactly because their models usually have some very defining and characterful properties which you would not get in a generic hero. But I see the appeal of both. Generic heroes allow you to tell your own stories, and named characters you can read about are also great fun to play around with or collect.

One of my biggest wishes is each army gets a unique basing like the old hero bases or the shattered domain, necromunda bases gw sells.  I'd pay 60 bucks for a bunch of base bits to customize as as see fit themed around my army.

Yeah. Eternus is a great example. If they do it so well, I would love it!

I want one for tow as well and I hope with a successful tow they switch to 4 year editions

ToW article is already planned for the 26th Dec : probably the full reveal.

ToW is a specialist game as Middlearth so no summer big release and  so no switch to 4 year.

I thought based on Warcom Reveals the Three Big Systems were Necromunda, Blood Bowl and Horus Heresy?

30k was the same way and it's success switched in to more mainline with a big summer release and is what spurred the 3 year cycle.  It's not crazy to believe a successful tow would shift gw to 4 year editions and honestly I think 5 years is an even better benchmark.

The 3 year cycle has been happening for ages, long before HH came along.

It used to be a 4 year cycle back when warhammer fantasy was around the first time.

I doubt it will go back to a 4 year cycle, there is to much money to be made.

I'm happy with a 3 year cycle, it keeps things fresh.
