If GW are planning different seasons of Warcry like Underworlds, I'd love an Anvilgard themed set: all different races of cutthroats and some non-ruined back alley/port terrain
-
That's fantastic, I think it's my favorite in this thread
-
Best of luck with the PhD! A simpler game like Song of Blades and Heroes or Warcry might be a good shout, both pretty simplified, with any miniatures working with Song of Blades & Heroes

Ha! Could be the right idea these days, potential opponent under the same roof too! I know you're up to your neck in studies at the minute, but when you need a break, I would start small and maybe build one of the shadespire warbands, 15-20 mins a day, two warbands built and you can play a game. Then prime and paint in small sessions. In a month or two, you could have a fully painted game, which is a rare thing!

I got back into the hobby just over a year ago, and starting buying minis for multiple games but never really completed anything, just jumping from one project to another. I've pretty much stopped buying until progress is made on what I have, e.g. I'm building towards a 1000 pt Nurgle army this year, have a start collecting set in progress, won't buy more for it until that is completed. It was annoying me looking at a desk full of half finished minis, and took the enjoyment out of it, just felt like work trying to get stuff finished. Feels good to just complete stuff and put it away. Good article from the author of frostgrave on the subject: https://therenaissancetroll.blogspot.com/2019/10/deliberate-purchasing.html?m=1

The Lockdown/Isolation Hobby Progress unity/log!
MarkK replied to Overread's topic in Age of Sigmar Discussions
Started on Nighthaunts from the Mortal Realms magazines as a change of pace from Nurgle Blightkings. In the last week I've built and primed the chainrasps, stalkers and banshees and started painting the chainrasps. Used loaded brush to blend in the ghostly effect on the robes pretty quickly. Update 1: Experimented with oil washes, pretty happy how they turned out, still need to apply highlights, but lessons learned! -
Hi all, looking for feedback on 2 similar 1000 pt lists, am I going to light on bodies? Or should I be including at least 1 unit of Marauders? Thanks, it's a metal tone I find hard to get right, mostly looks like dull gold instead of the warm reddish colour here
-
Nice work! Really like the copper on the overlords, do you mind me asking how you done it?

Might of use to you also, bone colours used by the painter of the studio army, might be a bit much for a full army though!

These are beautiful, good job! What colours did you use for the brass and red if you don't mind me asking?

I've hit a plateau with my painting and need some feedback.
MarkK replied to Superking's topic in Painting and Modelling
I found that a wet pallet was the biggest change that improved my painting, opened up a lot of techniques like glazing and blending, that and trying to use washes more conservatively instead of the GW method of washing all over. I'm trying to add more colours through thin glazes to my skin tones, purples for recesses and reds for cheeks, example spoilered below -

Hi all, starting maggotkin as my first AoS army and want to build up to 1000 pts initially. I have a unit of 5 blightkings, a Lord of Plagues painted and a SC! Box ordered. What units should I add next to reach 1000 pts? Thanks
