  1. The Iron Promise Collection also includes the War Cry anthology book.
  2. You could also throw in either a courtier or a Ghoul King on foot.
  3. Start Collecting sets are always a great investment as they have everything a FEC army needs. 2 Sets plus a AAR will give you a well-rounded force, thats only a little light on ghouls.
  4. When playing Kharadron Overlords I aim for2-3 drops when playing 1000-1500 point games. As said before, GW is slowly phasing out big battalions. So its isn't that necessary to get down to one drop anymore. Anything below 5 will almost guarantee being able to chose who goes first.
  5. Forget Monstrum Arcanum completly. That doesnt matter. The book where something is published in doesnt matter AT ALL. Only keywords matter. Everything with keyword KHORNE can be part of a Khorne army/allegiance. A Chaos Warrior with the Mark of Khorne, Skarbrand and the FW Blood Thirster are all equaly part of a Khorne force. Same goes for every other Keyword like SKAVENTIDE or GLOOMSPITE GITS. You can find that in every Battletome at the start of the allegiance part where they define what keywords determine your allegiance.
  6. Adding to that: Monstrum Arcanum is not an faction. It doesnt matter where the rules are coming from. All that matters are the keywords. Everything that has (or can get) the KHORNE keyword can be part of a Blades of Khorne army.
  7. Witch Aelfs up to 120 and Hag Queens to 90. In line with most predictions. I hope the Blood Stalkers point drop helps to see them more often...
  8. So, I had a quick 1K points game with the rules we know so far yesterday. I enjoyed building a list around Spearhead/Main Body/Rearguard. This added a lot of depth without making it that much more complicated. Only having to field one Battleline is also a plus in my books. I play 1K games quite regularly and this one game took more or less the same amount of time as the others. Im curious to see what the Meeting Engagement Battleplans bring to the table but the basic premise looks very solid to me.
  9. Sounds like a cool army, only problem is, you have to split your army into three parts (as you need at least one unit per detachment).
  10. You can only take minimum sized units in the Spearhead. Only the Main Body can take bigger units (and then only Min. Size x2 for Battleline). You could at max. only take 2x10 Plague monks outside of a Pestilence army. Edit: the rearguard can also double other units
  11. The text was kinda confusing but the chart explains it very well. This looks like fun. Im looking forward to the different battleplans. Looks like GW put a lot of thought into this.
  12. Im loving this. I have so many army ideas. I may even dust up my Free People and work on my human/undeath Nu-Lahmia army idea I had when I started AoS.
  13. "Manage your expectations" should be pinned at the top of this thread. I for one am happy. The Bird warbande looks cool and more Warhammer Quest is always nice.
  14. This weeks pre-order is going to be just the Blood Bowl stuff and a few books.
  15. Im really excited for the AoS RPG. Does anyone managed to speak to the guys from Cubicle 7? I read somewhere that they where at Warhammer Fest...
  16. Id like to see 1 or 2 Akhelians with their spears and shields on foot, kinda like Hoplites, to fit their ancient greece theme.
  17. Summoning is quite rare in my group. In fact, no army besides FEC summons new stuff to the table (LON doesnt count as summoning for me). So I dont get that complain. Nurgle, Tzeentch, Khorne are all pretty limited in smaller games. I havent played against slaanesh in a while, so I dont know how they fare.
  18. 1000 points work all right for most games. My local group plays 1000 points all most exclusivly. We have strong armies like LoN, IDK or DoK, older armies like Iron Jawz and even a few legacy forces. Most games are balanced, only our local tournament player skews this from time to time.
  19. Two things. A 1000 points/vanguard-level game mode sounds fun Season 3 of Warhammer Underworlds is also great! The armor at the side looks like Wanderers to me:
  20. Looks like Forbidden Powers will introduce a mercenary system! Fitting for Fyreslayers, but the question is, who will join them? Will every faction be available as mercenaries or only specific armies?
  21. Vulkites are at least equal to, or better than Ardboyz. Their offensive output is higher and they are at least as resistance as Ardboyz. Slingsshields bring them to an 4+ save and this can get improved easily trough various abilities. The units you mentioned are glass canons with low resistance and not comparable to a more defensive unit of Vulkite Berserkers. They are far from the "worst unit" in the game.
  22. First of all, I really like the Bits you put out so far. I made good use of the shoulder pads and the heads. Only the faces suffer from the usual problems that come with 3D printing. So I think it would be better for future bits to stick to inorganic bits like armor or weapons. As others have said, shields would be a nice addition.
  23. 1. I wouldn't go all out on Witch Aelfs. The new Generals Handbook is around the corner and its possible the current Witch Aelf build gets nerfed. I would build atleast 20 Sisters of Slaughter. WE heads should fit in most cases, but you have to check carefully for each model as some whips may collide with the hair from the WE heads. 2. I use 5-10 Heartrenders in most games. They are a great distraction or can help you take backfield objectives. I haven't played Lifetakers yet but they look good as well. I would build 5 of each. Using the Lifetaker heads for the Heartrenders should work without a problem. 3. Blood Stalker heads fit on Blood Sister heads without a problem. The Battleforce is a great start. You can get a 1000 points force out of this box without buying anything else: LeadersBloodwrack Shrine (220)- GeneralHag Queen (60)Slaughter Queen (100)Battleline10 x Witch Aelves (100)- Pairs of Sacrificial KnivesUnits5 x Blood Sisters (140)10 x Khinerai Heartrenders (160)BehemothsAvatar of Khaine (180)Total: 960 / 1000 Taking the Bloodwrack Shrine as your Warlord allows you to take Blood Sisters as Battleline units. So you can start playing right away. You can also build the Cauldron of Blood, if you don't want to build towards a snake army. In that case you would need a few more Witch Aelfs/Sisters of Slaughter to fill your Battleline.
  24.
