  1. While I play little AoS anymore, I am still a huge fan of ME and won't even bother with the game over a 1000 points. I think the flaw with ME is that you can bring larger unique models to the game which tend to dominate it. In the games I have played, uniques were limited (either via # wounds or cost) so people could still bring something like the Changeling, but not Skarbrand or such. In that environment, I played Death Grand Alliance with a focus on just bringing stuff that interested me. Mostly a mix of Nighthaunts and Flesh-eater courts. I did alright with the stuff I used, but the games were very enjoyable and tended to come down to the wire. Since GHB20 dropped, I have not played AoS, but plan to circle back once things get better.
  2. Another entry in my painting diary has gone live on the Youtube channel. This one is on how I painted the skin on a squig.
  3. Since I enjoy a good round of wishlisting: 1. Rules for a version Nagash specific to Nighthaunts. 2. -1 shooting at Nighthaunts when a certain distance away. 3. Fix the battalions to not have minimum model counts and includes the WD ones. 4. Change allies to Flesheater, legions and OBR, since two of them have freaking models that draw on Nighthaunt imagery. As for flesh-eater courts, I am just being selfish. Now that I think about it, GW could do sub-factions of Nighthaunts and each one has access to a different ally. 5. Personally I like WoT as is, but I wouldn't mind a command ability that makes it an automatic success once a round.
  4. What I don't get with GW is all they had to do was re-print the battalions in the new GHB. Same with the Legion of Grief. A few pages of content would have been a huge win for the community with no extra work on their part. I agree with EnixLHQ when it comes to being positive about all of this, but sometimes GW's logic is frustrating (and a lost sale as I'm not buying this year's GHB).
  5. @CidGo to Hey Wanna Play games on Saturday, Sunday or Tuesday. Good store with a strong AOS community. Warcry tournament tomorrow, July 5th. https://m.facebook.com/HeyWannaPlayGameStore/
  6. Our 2020 event is right around the corner!!! We are moving forward with Siegeworld’s 16th Annual event at the Gateway Center in the Greater St. Louis Area of Collinsville IL. In 2019 we saw a new venue and more players then ever before. In 2020 we expect more of the same and then some. We have added new events this year with the support of new communities and clubs. As always our premier event will be our Unlimited Apocalypse 40k game spanning a table of 6 x 72 feet with 20 players and over 700,000 points. In addition we are moving our AOS event from 2 1-day events to a single 2-Day GT style event. Our 40k ITC event stood with 80+ players and crowned a new Overall Champion for the first time in 3 years. New to our weekend will be a Kings of War 2-day event that will be a Qualifier for their Region Masters. On top of that we will be running a 1-day Infinity event for the first time in a couple years. Covid-19 Planning As the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to affect people and businesses worldwide our position is to move forward with Siegeworld 2020. We are still months away and it’s our intention to plan the event while being mindful of the situation. The safety of our attendees will be our primary focus. We will stay abreast of the guidance and stay in touch with the local regulations should things change. We hope this message finds each of our prior year attendees doing well. We have confidence our event will take place but are also ready to take action to ensure if things change we can make necessary decisions. Wash your hands, don't touch your face, and trust that we will take action to minimize any impact this may have on your plans should the need arise. DISCOUNTED TICKETS still available till June 15th We will be extending the discounted ticket prices till June 15th this year to help allow each attendee to make a better informed decision on their plans. Tickets can be purchased at www.gateway-gamers.com and we will be continuing to update our website with our Sponsors and Event details as we move closer August. 7. In this Painting Diary episode, I go over the process I am using to base my Nighthaunt Chainrasp models. I discuss a selection of different tufts and static grasses and demonstrate how I apply each of them. I also discuss a bit about finding balance when basing models and avoiding making the base the focus. As a side note, I have decided that episodes which will be tutorials on how I paint different things will be referred to as Painting Diary episodes. Painting Diary episodes will tend to be streamlined and just cover the process of how I completed something. At the same time, Live streams that first appear on Twitch will be called On the Bench Episodes. On the Bench episodes will typically be me working on models and discussing hobby related topics in a casual fashion. 8. In this On the Bench episode, I finish the 25mm Secret Weapon Miniatures Alien Temple base I was working on in the last episode.
  9. In this On the Bench episode, I begin working on a 25mm Secret Weapon Miniatures Alien Temple base. I discuss the prep work that went into the base before filming. The episode concludes with the base about 50% finished. Also during the episode, I discuss my experience with Secret Weapon Miniatures and share my thoughts on using resin bases versus scratch built ones. Huge thank you to Granitebrow76 for joining the stream to talk about basing and the South Florida gaming scene. 10. There is so much to love with this diorama. The flames on the sword are fantastic. The marble painting is amazing and very realistic looking.
  11. If playing a 1000 point squig themed list with a Loonboss on giant squig as the general, what command trait and arcane item would you suggest?

  17. @SamBrooks- Sorry, this event was in Jan 2019. I don't know if Tyton games is running AoS events anymore.
  18. The challenge is that 1000 point lists don't get a lot of coverage on forums such as this one because the general mindset is towards the 2000 point competitive scene (general statement, not a criticism). You tend to need to look at more local forums/groups/etc. to find such discussions as typically the people sharing those kinds of lists are either not quite ready for the "scene" or more casual in nature. Since you are attending Adepticon, I am going to assume you live in the US and possibly in the Midwest. Based on those assumptions, I would check out the following sites/groups and hopefully they can help you or point you to better resources. https://www.indystorm.net/ - Indianapolis, IN gaming group. 1000 point Vanguard Friday tournament/ 1000 point x 2 team tournament on Saturday/Sunday (Local group running, so contact TO for more info) https://www.redraccoongames.com/ - Bloomington, IL group with active players. They are running a Meeting Engagement tournament on Jan 12. They have a private Facebook page that you can join and discuss your lists with active tournament players. https://www.facebook.com/HeyWannaPlayGameStore/ - Active South Florida group with tournament players. They have regular gaming nights. Folks play 1000 point and Warcry games. https://www.facebook.com/groups/aosmo/ - Missouri group that runs a 1000 point tournament at Siegeworld every year. Great group of players. If I remember anywhere else, I will let you know.
  19. Sorry Infeston, my comments are more in response to all of his TGA posts on the topic of ME. The joys of the internet in that we can both read a post and interpret it differently. Like yourself, I am finding the format to be a positive one and personally the breath of fresh air I need to "possibly" re-engage with the hobby. I get the format is not for everyone, which is totally acceptable. I am personally done with 2000 point games and the matched play format at that level for a list of reasons, but don't feel compelled to spam every discussion about said format just because I don't think it works for me.
  20. With regards to the OP, stuff is out there, just not at the levels of the default format (2000 points). The fact you already have a group that is playing ME is a huge leap ahead when compared to others. I also agree with other posts that there is lots of stuff on TGA, it just moved mostly to the faction specific threads. I am hoping a podcast or two appears that embrace the smaller formats (Warcry, ME, etc...). I really feel there is a market for smaller format AoS, it just takes a couple driven and talented folks for it to gain more exposure.
  21. At this point your posts have become textbook confirmation bias. You dogged the format before it was released and once available you jumped on the points that supported your views. Everytime someone talks about meeting engagements, you respond with how basically it is not a valid option for tournaments and other such dribble. You have made your opinion clear about the format, so now your posts are coming off as redundant and frankly a poor attempt to badger others into sharing your viewpoint. There is nothing wrong with disliking a format, game or whatever, but actively discouraging others from exploring something that is intended to be leisurely activity is just bad for everyone.
  22. Yeah, the FAQ does not answer the battalion question. I would still weigh on the side that they cannot be used. Same with the Nighthaunt battalions.
  23. Exactly. Nagash has keyword Deathlords and LoG can use units with the keyword. None of the rules for LoN apply to an army using the LoG rules, so the Nagash restriction in LoN doesn't apply.
