  1. I mean their certainly were aspects that were grounded, Empire was very grounded in human regimental training but had the collegiate of magic, they had their warrior priests who drew strength from a god etc. WHFB Had dragons, to phoenixes, to undead dragons, to chaos dragons, manticores, chimeras, trolls, I mean it's as fantasy as you can get. I agree it's not as high fantasy/outlandish but when people tell me WHFB was "very grounded" and "not very fantasy with not much magic" I don't remember the same game as them.
  2. People talking about WHFB not being that "Magical" clearly aren't remembering the Lorthern Skycutter, which floated around by magic dragged by a eagle.
  3. I would love ToW to be 28mm (WHFB Scale) so I can simply slot my large High Elf army into it.
  4. I often here people only call it the double turn, which is a shame as I think the priority roll mechanic is genuinely very good and I think I must of given away the priority roll as many times as I've taken, especially with mechanics like endless spell and the new scenarios and allowing you to manipulate objective control. The priority roll does undoubtedly lead to quick, short and rather poor games but it also allows for some absolutely nail biting games where one player would be straight out of the game without it. Really glad to hear it's still in and by the sounds it with even more advantages being handed to the player who does not have the priority it should keep developing as a genuinely ingenious mechanic. I'm excited to see how the new command points will work and will hopefully give the player without priority some more agency. Core battalions sound like a great idea, though from the video I was unsure if they're going to completely replace the current named battalions we have in battletomes or simply be along side them.
  5. I think we will AoS 3 for the very last big reveal.
  6. Congratulations on the win mate, love the amount of stompy fellas in your list!
  7. Only thing that sounded very odd is that the whole "Turn 3 priority roll the second player can remove a objective" unless they are removing all the 2 objective missions, or redesigning the scoring system sounds a bit off
  8. Dope man, we will have to some list discussion sometime.
  9. Will be very different from my current Seraphon army! I have played a few games already with Ironsunz with a Gorefist & Ironfist, went 2-0 against some softer Seraphon lists but the army is hella fun.
  10. Hello fellow chaos madmen, I have recently acquired a sizeable Tzeentch force! Very excited to be a fresh horror, looking forward to getting some list dojo and tournament reports in with you all.
  11. Hello felloo destro bros! I have recently acquired a Ironjawz army and will be throwing down games soon, glad to be part of the ranks and looking forward to engaging in some discussion about lists!
  12. There isn't really a "typical" number, it really does depend on a battle per battle basis. Some battletome (Skaven good example) simply don't have access to many great ones, some armies that lack summoning aren't as keen as as spending too many points on batallions (Cities of sigmar good example) and some books are filled with excellent batallions that you might want more then one of. I would say the most common reason for taking a batallion is when you have one that fit a large part of a army in (Ironfist, Changehost) are good examples, that allows the player with the big batallion to more often then not control who will be going first and second. Only advice I would give is that at 1000 points, a 150 point batallion is a huge chunk of your army, at 2000 I wouldn't be very keen to spend more then 160-180 points on batallions for armies that lack a summoning resource.
  13. Hi mare, this post is probably best served in the Chaos - Disciples of Tzeentch section of the forum.
  14. I think the response to the poll can be summed up as - "Mortals wounds are a good mechanic but are currently too prevalent, especially on ranged attacks"
  15. I think one of the hardest things around balance is also different things to different people, so people are arguing a biased argument about a subjective topic. I think with how complex a book for example like Seraphon is, 2 subfactions, 4 more futher subfaction splits, say 40 warscrolls, everything can interact with everything, there is just NO way you can properly playtest it all, let alone then test again all the other interactions out there. I would certainly like all battletomes closer in power level but I do truly want everything to have a 50% win rate to the point where warscrolls are all nearly a template of each other? No. I like having underdogs, it makes for a great story when a weaker book is rising up through a event, I love having boogeymen we can all joke about, but I would just like the relative power levels of all battletomes to be a bit closer.
  16. The bows on 3/3s offer very reliable shooting and allow you to reach out, I would 100 go for the bows. For the skinks it's pretty trivial, but I prefer the ranges of the bolt spitters.
  17. Hey man, Stegadons in Thunder Lizard offer some good shooting and fairly reliable melee damage with it all being on 3s. Skinks are ideal for screening though struggle with bravery outside of Starbourne. I certainly think a list with a Skink chief on steg, a couple more stegadons and some skinks for objectives would work, your main issue will always once your skinks are dead the scenario. As AoS is soley scenario based, it may prove hard to pull out a win.
  18. Fairly sure these warscrolls will just be separate to the battletome and that's it.
  19. I would love a slower release schedule honestly, the reason I decided to move on my 40K stuff and just stick to AoS is that trying to keep track of both games was literally too much work.
  20. Yes 100%, I imagine he will be a lot more points with hopefully rules to represent that!
  21. Absolutely mad model, I cannot wait to see that new warscroll.
  22. Ah, then I do apologise my man, I mis understood.
  23. I think for me someone says aggressive army I'm immediately thinking of Ironjawz. Get a Ironfist + A gorefist, low drops, full on alpha, turn one control, all about board dominance via speed and movement.
  24. To be fair mate, I've got everything in the Seraphon tome and a lot of the skink heroes etc are Finecast and I've had 0 issues with any of it.
