  1. Increasing toughness beyond 5 seems pretty niche, it doesn't look like there is very much S5 knocking about so it would largely be a waste. Obviously its a bit early to tell this sort of stuff, especially as most of the faction identity actually seems to be in the abilities rather than stats.
  2. Toughness 5 is pretty sparse in the core set. Iron Golems with shields and the Ogor are 5 but it's not that common. Range 2 is significant as well. I might have been playing it wrong but forcing your opponent to move attack rather than just attack twice could be pretty key. I'm still amazed they chose to print the points on the cards though.
  3. This is my usual list, you can play around with breaking units down into smaller chunks depending on your play style. Personally I like larger units as they feel more impactful but that's purely personal preference. The last 90 points can be used to flavour maybe with an extra hero or expanding some of the bladegheists. A bit og jiggling lets you run max Blaedgheists units but I find them really unwieldy and hard to keep in buff range. 4. I would definitely do some digging through this thread and competitive lists before thinking about purchasing that list above. Its hellishly light on bodies and is relying heavily on some of our arguably weakest units to do the heavy listing. Msu is definitely a way to play night haunt but that generally suggests running lots of units, which this list doesn't have.
  5. Everyone hates necromancers, but they are just trying to raise a family. One necromancer in particular was overly invested in Bitcoin, it was a Cryptocurrency. This necromancer cared nothing for those around him, or even his meagre wound count, his only concern was curing his terrible breath. You see he was a super callous fragile mystic vexed by halitosis.
  6. Enamel primer is your friend for this, you can get it from halfords if you are in the uk. It does come in smaller cans than the usual primer they sell but it works out cheaper as you need less coats.
  7. So firestorm organisation explicitly says you can include battalions with the relevant keyword is that still true post faqs etc?
  8. Magnetised box is absolutely the best way to move Nighthaunt armies around. The new command abilities are definitely a boon for NH as so few of our heroes actually have a way to spend command points other than the generic ones I often found I had a few stockpiling up in longer games. The save re roll in particular could really help some of our deepstriking units who weren't around in the hero phase to receive a mystic shield.
  9. Even at 80 I feel cogs is pretty mandatory for NH.
  10. Spray silver then hit them with contrast. The flesh tones over silver make a nice bronze and the yellows do a super bright gold.
  11. If you already own an airbrush I can't see the apothecary white being a better solution than just airbrushing the white on. I'd recommend inverting your process so you work dark to light. In the interest of seeing what happens if you splosh the contrast white over an extreme preshade I had a go over white to black/purple, as you can see the results are pretty horrific. You could potentially get somewhere if the apothecary white is darker than either of the preshade steps but at that point why not just airbrush the white. Edit: As an aside for anyone doing stormcast the iyanden yellow over silver makes a lovely gold.
  12. Depends what you are using it to do. I've found the white is a great way to give some depth to an already white area, however it cant actually cover anything that isn't already white if that makes sense.
  13. Welcome to the forum. Nighthaunt as a whole haven't changed much with the points. The chainrasps you will get from two soul wars sets are a solid core to work from and the heroes are so cheap having a second set is useful. Upcoming points changes should go some way to addressing internal balance, meaning you can pick whats cool and go from there. Do you want spooky horsemen, sword wielding maniacs or even scythe handed nurses?
  14. It seems to go some way to sorting out our internal balance, will need the whole book to see how Nighthaunt stand as a faction post points though as I don't think these do much for the more common builds.
  15. Twitter. It's some promotional material advertising the GHB booklet in german, has nighthaunt and some destruction points on it. Like I say its fairly blurry though.
  16. So its pretty blurry and possibly completely rubbish but from what I can make out. Dreadblades - 10 Both Knight of shrouds -20 Olynder-10 Reiknor -10 Coach -40 Chainghasts -10 Harridans -10 Still have some sort of max size discount. Hexwraiths -20 Myrmourns -10 no discount at max size Shyish reaper and vault of souls -20 Grimghasts and Kurdoss have changed but I cant make it out at all.
  17. If the necromancer previewed as part of the new mercenary companies makes it in with the standard war scroll would people consider paying the merc tax? Dance macabre and deathly invocation could be a decent boost to some our units.
  18. Small point but Chainghasts don't need to be near a Torment for Chainrasps in a condemned battalion or Bladegheists. Still not enough to make me run them as they dont hand out the deathless save or command abilities.
  19. Doesn't that make the battalion and everything in it allies though?
  20. Vallejo blue green. Used it for almost my entire army just mixed with black or grey to shift it's tone.
  21. Primarily to reduce the frequency that my units charge out of buff range. With cogs the army felt like it made sense, I couldn't imagine running nighthaunt without it. Not getting the +3 because reiknor passed his deathless save is beyond maddening though.
  22. They did the job of forcing an enemy to kill them to take their objective or in one case skittereleap and banish them. Stuff like thanqoul and the giant sequitor blocks walked through them, but I don't think a 40 would have held up much better.
  23. Thinking back there weren't many games where I would have had a chance to cast it's spell. When someone hits the bladegheists they just blow up anyway and with a low drop alpha list it's reasonably likely to be double turned into turn 2.
  24. In case anyone's interested went 3 wins at the gt heat 1 with this. Tbh should probably swap arkhan and the hosts for 20 readers and a small hero but don't want to push that many models around.
