I used a 12 man unit of skywardens, and loved them...now I won’t be able too...especially with the drill cannon dmg changing from 3 to d3 in the FAQ!  The list I’ve been running increased 200 points sadly with the Ordinator  ow being 140.

sad day...no extra battleline unit, point increases on Khemist (which I understand but don’t like) and no additions such as free summoning.

Hey, GW said to add SCE as allies...so looks like we need to ally SCE or buy all thunderers or gunhaulers!

The gunhauler says it’s artilley. As someone who has never played AoS has that changed from the old rules? I thought someone mentioned artillery had different rules now. Also really sucks to see ko doing so badly.

No, no changes here. The Gunhauler had been in the artillery category before. Battlefield roles are only important in matched play and even then mostly limited to list building.

So does it worth to take Gunhaulers with their new cost now ?

i think we'll have to wait and see to be honest.

If anyone plays KO, they will most likely play Grundstok Escort Wing as it takes advantage of all the updated point reductions.

The point changes for the heroes are all understandable. The Khemist had been your go to hero, maybe that will change now.
But why did they made Skywardens more expensive? Did anyone really play them? I only ever see Endrinriggers.

It wont because the khemist is the only hero that does really good things. Maybe MAYBE at 80 you'll bring a navigator. But that doesn't add to the power of your army. The endrineer still has no place.

Gunhaulers are still really bad and thunderers literally did not change at all.... making them ALSO still bad.

Likely nothing but point adjustments, and I wouldn’t count one them all being down. GW has never really gone “well what happens if this army can’t really use any of our new mechanics?” The answer is “they can just buy some stormcast”

As an aside, I called it.

KO are STRICTLY a worse army in 2.0 than they were before. GW does not rebalance with an eye to the future, only to the past.

yah...

I mean, this is just preliminary...we haven't seen all the information, nor play tested any games...so we are a bit "chicken little'ing", but I agree that as of this moment we are a worse army in 2.0.

Hopefully someone else in their vast knowledge will find a diamond in this giant freakin' haystack of terrible.

People that spammed Khemists or used Skywardens are the ones that will be handicaped (feels bad btw). But we need to see the whole picture first.

-Battalions seems to have some point reductions (so new artifacts/CP for us?).

-Realm specific artifacts and weapons (maybe new combos for our Admirals and Endrinmasters? Navigator with better unbinds?).

-Navigator going down in points and alot of new spells/endless spells means that we are going to see him in more tables.

-Brokk going down in points and being the other hero that has a command ability could be a good push to see him in some lists.

There are some othe factors that can help our lists. Gunhauler spam can be something (btw, Lord Ordinator going up doens't help that concept), but we need to see points for Dispossessed, Ironweld Arsenal and Fyreslayers.

Thats what im interested the most in. If Battalions get cheap enough maybe I can finally field the Iron Sky Squadron, now that I have the models and Frigats have gone down in costs.

A Grundstock Escort Wing could be interesting as well as its components got 220 points cheaper. But I dont want to buy a third gunhauler just yet...

A friend of mine has quite a big selection of Kharadron models and he says he can't get more than 70 extra  points from the changes, so he can't field anything worth it with the spares.  Thus for him, AoS 2.0 brought nothing  but nerfs. Maybe it's due to his model selection, but he is really demoralised.

Realm specific artifacts won't help a lot. I doubt they will be a lot better than the ones KO get (as they are more specific to KO's strengths). Plus the "unbind better" artifact was already revealed and it's exactly the same as the one you have now already. More unbinding artifacts? Maybe, but I doubt it.

Navigators will be able to dispel Endless spells when they are cast, but not later (as that's done by sacrificing a cast). They are not a lot of use except for the dispel, 80 points makes them decent but far from great.

I'm interested in how mobility can play a factor here too. With the randomness of realms changing up any situation and endless spells roaming the battlefield having a army that can quickly move around out of a spell's path and redeploy to take advantage of a realm's features or just that the enemy will be on the defensive against the incoming spell they unleashed will be interesting.

Also eyeing some Dispossessed too with their new Ironbreakers battleline and runelord's spell stopping power.  I'm thinking a mercenary company for my fleet:

"Runic Rook Brigadiers, a steel wall for ye' sky-kin to get some firm footin' on ta' ground and give them beasties a good bashing'."

If he/she plays competitive, just wait to see all artifacts/weapons and magic and how the championships and tournaments are going to chose the realms in wich match will play (plus all new combos and soup lists). If he/she isn't in that type of environment, there are alot of builds that are not affected (and some of them will give you more than free 50 points, meaning a free CP). I have a good army (2500 points), and at this point, I'm not really worried.

AoS 2.0 could been more friendly for our little boys? Yes of course. But it's not like the heaven will fall over our bearded heads.

I don't understand why people think we need wizards or anything magical.   So far, the destructive power of "normal" magic isn't getting an upgrade - they are simply making it more fun, and giving more options.  We can either just suck it up like we normally do, or we can take the Navigator (who is actually worth his points now)

Endless Spells need testing to see how effective they are, but since we get to control  them half the time, I am not sure that's such a big deal either.

I just played a game with the new point costs and rules.

Lord-Ordinator -140

10x Arkanauts  (3x Skyhooks) -120

10x Arkanauts (3xSkypikes) -120

Frigat (Skycannon) -220

Frigat (Skycannon) -220

Iron Sky Squadron -150

Against Clan Skyre with 9 Stormfiends.

I had no problem destroying his fiends thanks to the additional shots and the to-hit buff from the Lord-Ordinator. One frigat is too weak but two are enough to start hurting your enemy. I like the point and rule changes so far. But I haven't faced a magic heavy army yet so maybe take it with some salt.

What use is an extra CP for Kharadron when they only have two CAs (one tied to the lackluster Admiral)?

Obviously it's your fault.

You should have included an Stormcast ally.

Why hadn't you bought a Stormcast ally ?
