Nick Jebson
Hey guys, I have been making some tournament standard boards for large events out of the Printable Scenery terrain sets. I'm building the main board with the Dragons Graveyard as its centerpiece, which provides some decent area-terrain for some extra cover saves. Do I need some hills on here as well or will making some forest bases be all that is needed? Is the area terrain the dragon provides enough to give some protection against the fast shooting armies or would some LOS blockers be needed? 9
Vasshpit
Not really an answer to your question but those are really cool!👍 Perhaps a gargant skeleton or some old worn down effigy to Gorkamorka would be cool!

Fairbanks
There’s some project inspiration: Turn Ravenak’s Gnashing Jaws into the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin
Neverchosen
The already mentioned terrain ideas are much better than my own. Maybe you could make a dark burrow with some gleaming eyes peering out and run it as deadly or sinister terrain. On a less fantastic level I think some bramble or rough looking vegetation would fit in with the theme you are working with. An under represented element on many battlefields but some godbeast tracks. It would show that the remains are maybe the result of something bigger and fiercer than the bones that scatter the battlefield and could give some more rough terrain. It may not be the most interactive terrain but it would be aesthetically and narratively interesting.

There is a piece coming up in that set called the Titan Skull Cave, It should fit in perfectly. maybe put it in the opposite corner to the dragons skull? 37 minutes ago, Neverchosen said: The already mentioned terrain ideas are much better than my own. Ohhh the godbeast tracks are a sweet idea, the thing that managed to kill this awesome beast! 13 hours ago, JackStreicher said: A maw in the ground (Star Wars Sarlacc like) Wait I can do one of those, its an older set but we made one back in the day: https://www.printablescenery.com/product/sand-worms/ 15 hours ago, Vasshpit said: Not really an answer to your question but those are really cool!👍 Oh I agree wholeheartedly, its my favourite set from the latest releases: https://www.printablescenery.com/product/dragon-graveyard/
JackStreicher
Alright other things that come to mind: - Craters - A hive of giant carnivorous insects - a tar pit - spiky rocks - Primitive Ruins / cave drawings on a cave wall - a cave entrance - a cliff-side - holes of a giant worm (not vertical shafts but tilted, extruded slightly curved craters - primitive hut - cyclopian stairs leading to a shattered stone plateau - an island atop giant bones - a sand waterfall coming out of a monster‘s skull - rock-platforms that penetrate out of the ground in a slight angle and therefor creating an overhang on the outmost end. Nick Jebson
Oh man. Love the island, giant worm burrows and the sand waterfall idea! I will see how I can add those. Even sounds like I need to do a second board!
Popisdead
Wow that table looks amazing. I would maybe consider some larger valley style hills. Since we aren't hampered into square movement trays and models are mostly plastic you could make this table more 3D. I think people are missing out on that regard. The idea of reach and the core rules in the first rule set gave us those opportunities and I would like to see that explored. 40k does it at a start with buildings. Neverchosen
If you ever want to incorporate a fortress structure into your games I feel a makeshift wooden fort is a good idea as permanent settlement may be difficult with the various monster attacks.
Nick Jebson
Hey we can easily add in a fortress section, we have the tribal ramparts from a previous set we can use. There she is, can add the Titan Skull Cave to the table now! 1
flamingwalnut
Awesome table, some gorgeous pieces. But it you want to be competitive you need some Line of Sight Blocking stuff. As it is, shooting armies will reign hardcore. Big rock pillars, giant skulls with no see through parts, giant gelatonous cubes, etc. Could even do some sort of smoking thermal vent or something similar. Love the theme, though. Would love to see more!
Shankelton
Hmmm! Well If I had to give some creative ideas. I've always loved the idea of ghur's topology preying on itself. Perhaps do a terrain piece as a lake chewing large erosions out of the banks. Might also add a lower, non- sight blocking terrain to slow up hordes. Also Geysers with plums of steam would look great amongst that. Or hills that look like a tectonic plate shifted in a single move. Like a busted femur. Super cool table! zilberfrid
To get a more dynamic table, you could go for catnip. Though there may be some gameplay challenges, the result could truly encapsulate how a world rules by giant beasts could be.
AaronWilson
I think it looks pretty full as it is bud, on top of that it looks fantastic. Excellent job!
