How are you getting an extra d6 of run distance?  Prosecutors run d6" like anything else.

Just a typo. Wanted to say 17+1D6

this + the 6" restriction of the hammerstrike (only one guy of the unit need to be withing 6" of the prosecutors) mean you will, turn one, ALWAYS engage directly the opponent... except if he deploy very very far away of the prosecutors, or play first, of course. But the 5" movement boost of the command trait really help a lot

I dont think so (unless I am misunderstanding what CV means )

It's just two units of paladins according to my battletome

The Celestial Vindicator Hammerstrike needs to take 3 paladin units instead of 2.  It's written in paranthesis on the Celestial Vindicators Warrior Chamber batallion. Easy to miss.

I thinking about playing around with this idea at some point in the future.  Trying to come up with an Alpha bunker/strike list that controls center map with blobs and takes out key components with shooting and paladin charges. Relictor prayer shenanigans abound.

So a mate and I are going to take part at a team tournament.

Its 1k for each player and your buffs only work on your own army.

Till now, we are rather clueless.

We have no experiance at 1k at all and we struggle to find anything that makes us go: wow nice comp.

He is going to field his seraphon and I'm going to use my sce.

Is there anything that comes to your mind, that would work well together?

If you want a power duo, have him run lots of Skinks and a Bastiladon and then you run a really strong midfield hammer like Paladins with a Staunch Defender Castellant, Heraldor, and some Judicators.

Or, you could fit in a Stardrake with support and have him take as many bodies as possible with a Wizard or two.

Make one player play sylvaneth  to pop trees everywhere and the other SCE play 4 Knight heraldor to tootoot the ennemy to death! Fear the might of the vuvuezla!

Experience wise, here is a small tournament that happened in France and where teams of 2X1000 points had to fight on the same table with the same restriction as you :

i feel like you guys have both an alpha strike army maybe you can play around dat with relictors and the new ct of seraphon dont take batalion at 1k its too much point and i will do like 1/3 shooting just to retaliate better

Totally agree, I just copied my excel sheet into the post so it didn't have them split.  I usually keep the retributors as 1 unit so that I can do a good wrap around the entire blob I mean to kill, and start the protectors as 2 units behind the retributors since they can reach over the top and thus are closer to the prosecutors.

I used to play the Tempest Lords Harbinger Chamber which used to be 240pts for the batallions alone, in GHB1. At the current cost, 440pts in GHB2, I'd never think I'd field them. But  here I am and can't really let them go.. They're just too cool to drop. Anyway, here's a list.

Lord Celestant on Stardrake -  Zealous Crusader, Mirror Shield
Knight Azyros - Lantern of the Tempest
10 Liberators -  double warblades, 2 w grandblades
5 Judicators - skybolt bows, 1 w shockbolt bow
5 Judicators - boltstorm crossbows, 1 w shockbolt crossbow
3 Prosecutors - stormcall javelins, 1 w stormsurge trident
3 Prosecutors - stormcall javelins, 1 w stormsurge trident
3 Prosecutors - stormcall javelins, 1 w stormsurge trident
3 Prosecutors - celestial hammers, 1 w grandaxe
Vanguard Wing
Tempest Lords Harbinger Chamber

//2000pts

Lots of shooting, really fun to play. Kite til' they catch you. Teleport Liberators all over the place. Hurl prosecutors across the board (up to 30" if you get really lucky). Drop Stars with the stardrake etc. You get the deal.

The idea behind the list was to avoid some of the obvious artefacts, weapon combos and units currently flooding the meta. E.g I could've picked Staunch Defender instead of Zealous Crusader in the Celestant, but that wouldn't be very Tempest Lordy of me. And since the Celestant can use his charge as a move in this list, why not be able to re-roll it?

I will have a really hard time to win scenarios where heroes are needed, since I only have two.. But it synergises well with the Tempest Lords "Take your tally"-rule.  It rarely went off in my previous lists (as in never, or i forgot about it), but that's about to change.

The double warblades on the liberators has two uses, it synergises well with Vanguard Wing, and it looks badass.

The one celestial hammer proecutor unit is there to mop up warmachine crews, unsuspecting wizards and the like.

The two judicator units are there for testing purposes, the crossbows have potential to put out some hurt if included in the Vanguard Wing.

Thoughts?

I love the big battalions but currently they're fun only. Which isn't a bad thing!

In your case, with an LCoSD you've got something hard to shift that does limited damage to tough units.

So I'm envisioning what you'd do against other stormcast with Staunch defender or 2 x 30 vulkite berserkers. You can only eat a maximum of 30 models (best case scenario) a game!

Just run 2 units of fulminators a LCoD and a Castellant with 2 liberators. I've literally never not been dissappointed by paladins.

Whats peoples opinion on paladins?  I  personaly like them and use atleast 1 unit of retributors and 1 unit of protectors or decimators in every list, some times even taking all three.

Many of the competetive list seem not to use them, so i get the feeling that they are not very competetive.

Me and my gaming group are not very competetive but my retributors atleast seem to perform relatively well most of the time. I'm using celestant on foot to aid them and relictor with lightning  chariot to move them if they are getting too behind from the action. Protectors and decimators are sometimes hit and miss for me but i like their abilities, and live protectros melee range. Protectors are usually right behind my liberators to stab over them and be safe from 1 inch attacks, while same time protecting my heroes and ranged unit with their ranged penalty. Decimator might not get to fight hordes every game but sometimes -2 to bravery helps if opponent has of multiwound units like ogres or brutes for when they flee its costly for the opponent.

Did anyone else notice the Mistweaver Saih making an appearance in Chris Mills's Hammers of Azyr Facehammer army? Cheap Mystic Shield, or something else? Genuinely interested to see if it's simply that she has the best personal spell of the available 80-point casters, or she has another specific use outside of just shieldbotting.

Hello everyone, I have an event next Sunday and I will play with my beloved Stormcast, the event will be at 1000 point and we will have these three missions: Knife to the Heart, Duality of Death and Battle for the Pass, in my play area there will be: 2 Bonesplitterz, 2 Ironjaw, Chaos (Nurgle, Disciples of Tzeentch, Blades of Khorne) 2 Aelves and a Sylvaneth.

I've been playing very little Stormcast, to see if they give me a hand, my collection of miniatures is:

-Basic Box
-Judicator (x10)
-Paladins (x10)
-Celestant on foot
-Draconthian box
-Prosecutors with javelin (x3)
-Knight-Vexillor
-Knight-Heraldor
-Liberator Special Weapons

Thank you very much

We are thinking about an all or nothing combination.

Stardrake

Castellant

2x5 Judicators

Lord K

2x 40 Skinks

Balewind

Do you think, this could work?

I love Paladins, and use Retributors in the same way with a Lord Celestante. They're devastating in that combination. I don't even use Starsoul Maces.

I'm the same with Protectors, just shanking dudes at 3" and protecting the central characters until I'm ready to chariot them at a monster.

What are the competitive lists using for damage-dealers if not Paladins?? Just Stardrakes, or Dracothian Guard?

I think they are, and always have been, a competitive option. Would love to hear what the top players are apparently doing instead...
