  1. Like always, it is probably best to temper your expectations. This thread has seen many raise their expectations for reveals, only to be greatly disappointed.
  2. Welcome! I find myself mostly playing Warcry these days myself, although I'm working on my mawtribes. It's also the first GW game I've gotten my girlfriend to play. I find warcry is quick enough to fit in a few games at a time, and at least with my group, a bit more laid back than AoS or 40k. I often find myself opting for more "fun" options than strictly competitive. Also I'm finding the new releases pretty exciting, the new monsters are super cool, and I can't wait to see the last warband.
  3. Incredibly tragic news. I own about twenty Fimir warriors and two nobles, with my magma dragon and basilisk enough to reach 2k of monsters of destruction. I realize they said it was not linked to further support, but having the Fimir army on Warhammer TV the other day gave me some hope, that if nothing else we might eventually see the WIP Fimir heroes released at some point. Tamurkhan is similarly a shame, I don't know why they couldn't have simply made his a generic nurgle hero to incentive his use, rather than being bound to a FW army list. All in all its got me kinda bummed out. Hopefully we'll see the return of Fimir in some form or another in AOS. Also I'd be tempted to order Tamurkhan as he's still in stock in the UK, but as I live in the US they won't ship it to me.
  4. Personally between my fimir and monsters I'm just under 2000 pts, but it's sad to see them go. This also seems to confirm those WIP fimir heroes will not be materializing. At least from my perspective it seems Forgeworld has not really figured out what its doing with AoS, the constant shifts and changes are not a good sign. I also wish they had gone on "last chance to buy" as I would have snagged Tamurkhan. If anyone in the UK is interested in Fimir or Tamurkhan, now is definitely the time to buy them.
  5. Sad news, I emailed FW regarding the Fimir warriors and Tamurkhan being no longer available in the US, (and lacking the option for email alerts) This was the response: "Thanks for getting in touch regarding Tamurkhan and the Fimir models. I am sorry to say this has been removed from the web store and discontinued from the Forge World product range."
  6. I usually look at the faction dice as primarily collectible, rather than practical. I don't think I've really seen anyone at my FLGS using faction dice. I don't typically purchase them, but I made an exception for the Mawtribes dice as I'm buying the rest of the releases and there aren't a bunch of new kits to get. Will I ever use them? Unlikely, as it's only a pack of eight and they're "extra large" but who knows, maybe use them to track rounds or CP or something.
  7. Others have touched upon it, but I don't think I'd say the pose is simply copied from SC or other heroes. GW has chosen similar poses for for many of their mounted heroes for a reason, take a look at artistic depictions of historical figures (horses seem to rarely have all four hooves on the ground)
  8. I'd probably proxy them as volley guns, I can't see anyone giving you a hard time over it.
  9. My guess is that StD might be getting a large-ish release. Replacing some of the old finecast (chosen, various heroes) with new plastics and replacing the old marauders with new Darkoath sculpts. I would love for them to replace the warriors with more dynamic sculpts, but they're not quite as bad off as the marauders. I'm sure the Warcry bands will make an appearance in the StD book, but I doubt in a substantial way. Their current rules are fun, each with a unique gimmick but they're ultimately pretty streamlined. The ogor only has a few extra wounds, but has the same weapons. I can't see them taking the place of a unit like marauders. Large releases are harder to fit into the overall schedule, and hopefully they'll be the next big AoS release after the bone bros.
  10. In regards to Duardin women, here's an excerpt from the Warcry: The Anthology, more specifically the Eight-Tailed Naga.
  11. Plus the tyrant doesn't seem to have the textured base in the same style of Underworlds miniatures. I'd be pumped if ogors find their way into Beastgrave, but it wont be the tyrant. Ideally this Saturday's reveal will be a much sought after and desired Fimir gang 😉
  12. I don't have any insider knowledge, but I really think Darkoath will just be the next generic marauders within Slaves to Darkness. Because of that I don't think it's too surprising they didn't get a warband, they're not a specific highly realm themed group like all the Warcry gangs.
  13. I've played against boneslitterz several times now, as they're brother's chosen warband. I've made a few observations from the other side of the board. While the warband has relatively low toughness across the board, I feel their 15 wounds even on the grunts makes up for it. I can't remember how many times I've attacked an orruk, only for him to survive with one or two wounds. Their staying power, coupled with their cheap "Charge!" ability makes them fast and hard to get rid of.
  14. I've played a few games so far with my Iron Golems. The ogor is great, he does good damage reliably and your opponent is often afraid to tangle with him. My issues with the warband stem mostly from the fact our quad is situational, while several other warbands' quads are usable by all their units. The other is that I feel our Dominar is kinda underwhelming, I feel like he should either have an extra attack or toughness.
  15. I'm not sure Ogors will definitely be losing all their old resin sculpts, Skaven received a new book and they retained many of their old models. Honestly Tzeentch doesn't really need a bunch of new models at the moment, their range is pretty robust. Their issue at the moment is that their book as so many FAQ's and changes (summoning rules, Tzaangor scroll changes). All they really need is a updated book, probably a terrain piece, and endless spells (the magic god should probably have endless spells)
  16. I currently have: Ishealen Prince 1 Ishealan guard 1 Morrsarr guard 4x Thralls I think I'm going to try swapping out a thrall or two for reavers, hopefully their ranged attack will come in handy.
  17. Hopefully I'm not the only one interested in Deepkin. What does everyone make of our options?
  18. "We’ll be back at 10:30am (BST) with another preview looking at two incredible new battletomes – exciting news for those new to the Mortal Realms and veterans of the Season of War alike…"
  19. I'm really liking the sheer variety of the warbands. I like the newest one, but its not my favorite of the six. But I showed them to my girlfriend, who was not a huge fan of the others, but really likes these. I can't wait to get my hands on the game. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed for ogor reveals on the open day.
  20. If I can have units of bears I'm 100% in. Like others have said, I would really like for them to go the wildlife route, where as the Sylvanneth are more heavy on sprites and the like.
  21. If I had to guess why there are so few mutations, is because they are often considered "gifts" and these tribes are all trying to gain favor with Archeon and the gods. Maybe whoever wins will get a few tentacles as a prize
  22. So I imagine this newest Warcry reveal answers who this is:
  23. Fyreslayer info is up. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/04/07/coming-soon-fyreslayers/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Facebook&utm&fbclid=IwAR3zfNSR0JIQfVO4PhqyVQB4h1lHWo0Aks8VGxufnodH_1HlT-dpHVD19mE The Doomseeker is back, was he in silver tower?
  24. I think its important to note that the Slaanesh video didn't have any of the existing mortal units present. As I doubt they'll be getting rid of the Hellstriders, I hope this means we'll be seeing more of a mortal focus a bit closer to release. Also with the recent 40k chaos release we learned about new units and heroes in the daily faction focus articles. I could be totally wrong, but I wouldn't give up hope on new mortal units yet.
  25. Well it seems like you were having fun playing at the GW store, and now you’re playing with the same two people and keep getting frustrated. I’d give the GW store another try, or see if there’s another local club or game store to play at. And there’s no reason it’s one or the other, you can always have your buddies go with you. Another option would be trying some more narrative stuff. It doesn’t need to be anything super elaborate, but you could put together a narrative campaign to add an extra element to your games. So if you lose a game it’s not “wow I can’t believe I charged that unit and wasted my knights” or “That unit is too strong” and that’s it till next time. Instead it can be a matter of, “well I lost and now the deepkin have captured the Xrathian Chasm, but next battle I can see if the Knights of the Bloodly Dawn can…”. Instead of just ending and ruminating on what went wrong, you can think about the story you’re making.
