These look great! Really love the bonesplitter shields and weapons. the colours you went with for them really tie in nicely. Have you had a chance yet to play with them in your Nurgle force?

Yes, I've used them in one game. I was able to buff them up with the Glottkin as well as using the wheel. 20 Warriors went through 30 Graveguard in two turns and lost barely any. They were extremely resilient. I struggled to get them back into combat after the first fight though, although this was a lot to do with the terrain on the table so I think they will need a bit more play testing. Overall I think that there is a lot of potential for using the warriors, either along side or in place of blight kings.

  2. I'm the same as @alexmcgee123 - I'm off to Steve and Jimbo's event at Warhammer World next Saturday. I really want to take a Nurgle list, but I may end up taking the Tzeentch army. I think I'll have to have a look at some lists and see what I can come up with. Maybe I could rock out the Sylvaneth again - they have not had a run out for over a year! No matter what I take I think its going to be super fun, and Warhammer World is always a fun day out

  3. When I saw you were packing models in foam I assumed you'd be flying. Particularly with metal models have you considered just using a magnetised box? Nothing rubs against the models, you can magnetise them in movement trays ready to go, it's easy to transport them between games? I used to use a foam case, but once I started to use plastic boxes I'd never go back except for travelling internationally.

Maybe some more yellows or oranges would help? Just adding critique since you asked for it haha

I've got some of the Pusgoyle Blightlords to paint up next so I'll certainly look at varying up the greens on those. They also have a few more areas where you can put in extra colours. I agree when the plaguebearers in particular are on the bases they don't jump them!

I was a big fan of the goblins too. I'd like to have seen a few more of them!

Love those plague drones! I was annoyed to find that 1 in 3 of them don't fit on the bases or pegs they provide, as the pegs aren't long enough! Have you got them permanently attached to the base or are they removeable?

I drilled out the holes with a 5mm drill bit and super glued acrylic rod into them. I then did the same into the playback on the base. It makes them very secure. Wings are pinned as well as I have seen them pop off very easily.

  6. Sounds like an interesting tournament. I think you make some good points about the learning outcomes from the event, particularly the one about letting the game go at the end. Its good to just be able to focus on the next one. I make some horrendous mistakes in games, and sometimes it can be hard to put it out of your mind, especially when you feel like you should have won the game, or at least would have had a chance to win.

Wow! I'm really looking forward to seeing the final result it looks amazing so far. I too have horticulus on the painting shelf and have him up next after the plaguebearers.

I don't think my paint job will turn out anything like yours but he will be a ton of fun either way.

Make sure you show off some photos when he's done - its a lovely model to paint.

  8. I think you have made some well considered points here my friend.

I agree with some clarification to set up rules (after the Wanderers being played two different ways at different events), and I'm also a fan of removing 'models within' to 'Units within'

I also like that GW are now using the 'wholly within' wording for some abilities.

Your Archaon improvement ideas are also something I agree with. Their is nothing more depressing than the Lord of the End Times going into a unit of regular troops and not doing anything, which happens more often than I like!

The Tzeentch book suffers from an internal balance problem. Also there is a lack of imagination amongst Tzeentch players. For some reason the tournament armies all look similar, despite the fact that there are other good options. Other Battle Tomes seem to have more variation amongst their players. For example DD is an interesting one. My list doesn't care particularly what the Destiny Dice are because they generally get used for casting spells, so 2's and 3's can both be used a lot. 6's are good of course for when you want to power something through.

The split rule is something I'd like to see laid out in a really clear way. I'd love to see someone like yourself do a photo guide that shows how to lay out the blues and brims after the split and give a clear interpretation to when it happens. I don't use the mechanic as I'm not 100% sure that I would do it correctly, and I'd rather not leave a bad impression of myself or the army.

Hopefully you have sent the link to this post to some of the GW staffers you know as I'm sure that they would appreciate the detailed analysis, even if they don't use it all.

You're at what? 40 models in 23 days?

365 models isn't hard to do if you get basic models with an easy paint scheme. It's the bigger or more detailed models that will get you .

Yep, I totally agree. I was able to get thirty rank and file guys done pretty quickly at the start of the month so I didn't feel too guilty about spending the extra time on Horticulux Slimux. Next up I have 20 Pink Horrors to do as well as some nurglings, so again I should be able to make some good progress in February
