  1. When applying wounds you apply them one at a time rather than as a batch, so if 20 wounds are taken by a 10 wound monster, it dies after the 10th wound is applied, the remaining 10 wounds are wasted. So for your monster 10 wounds would be applied then it dies, at that point it would fight (in my understanding of it).
  2. The savings are potentially even more than that (in the UK at least) when you consider 3rd party sellers as the contents individually are 'GW direct' rather than normal stock lines. These products only get at best a 10% reduction from 3rd parties, where as this set will be available for 25% off. Basically means if you are buying it for the Bullgors, the Cygor and Shaman will be free. I agree thats not much use if you already have that many SC, but i only have 2 SC, so will likely pick up 2 of these new sets.
  3. Good point, could be a squig herd? My first thought was Beastclaw Raiders (now Mawtribes) and Ogre Butcher (finecast model? so not likley in a box set) but there could be lots of options for the herd word.
  4. Id have assumed butcher-herd would be destruction, Mawtribes specifically, given Kragnos is destruction. Herd does suggest beastmen though
  5. So for the first unread post issue. Clicking the blue button works... if you are in the forums. But on the site home page the 'popular now' and 'recent topics' listings dont have buttons, so click those and you go to the first page of those threads, logged in or not. That is generally how i used to navigate the site and i thought it used to still take you to first unread, now it does not, but ive not been on TGA hardly at all over lockdown so well behind the curve on what changes have happened here so sorry if this is a known thing. Thanks.
  6. So if you have spent money elsewhere, or not at all, and you are bothered by this or lost interest in GW products, email them. Forum posting might get noticed but a bunch of well thought out non-ranty or hyperbole emails explaining your thoughts may just get passed on. I dont think it will make a difference in this specific instance about Cursed City coming back or getting a response, as the decisions about this will now be at the top level and concern on share prices will make them keep sweeping CC under the rug, so the only response we will get will be a statement in the end of year report about positives and negatives of the past operating period. BUT, knowing there is a person on the end of their actions, either through feedback or sales figures, will be considered in future actions.
  7. So as the person most impacted by this, has it changed your buying habits? as in actually. Money in your bank and not spending it on GW. Be good to get an actual opinion from an affected party. Cant speak for everyone obviously but most people seeming to think GW acted badly are still posting in other threads about GW games and what armies/units to buy for gaming. So while GW have acted very poorly, it has (as is often the case) made little difference to the bottom line.
  8. There have been numerous occasions where Azyr has been wrong, either points, not getting list building right, not uniformly updating FAQ (as you say most go in but people have reported errors in the past). Many arguments on here and facbook groups about are caused by people quoting what you can and cannot do on warscroll builder or Azyr, especially battleline, allegiance or artefect allotment. I cant quote anything here as ive not followed it for a while and they do update/correct the apps (if slowly), but we are currently talking about incorrect points for something that was changed in the GHB (6 months ago!) so there is one example. While it can obviously be used as an easy reference the definitive 'correct' rules are those in printed copy when used alongside Errata documents. Id love it if they switched to Azyr as the focus but thats not what they currently do sadly. So in summary, if there is any question about rules or how something works, dont use the apps as a reference, check the books and Errata. 😁
  9. Yes this is what made me ask the question, as i didnt have the GHB to hand. Its a shame GW cant keep the Azyr app up to date but people need to stop relying on it, even the best checked app can be wrong (admittedly so can the GHB but its hard copy so its what we use until a FAQ changes it).
  10. Hi all, does anyone know the current points of the Briar Queen and co. They are 180pts in Warscroll Builder , and 150pts in the AoS app and the GW download. I dont have my GHB to hand to check if it was changed.
  11. Most tournaments seem to allow random roll for each piece (so mix of old and new), or roll once for entire table to decide if it should be all old or all new. So yeah most seem to still use old scenery types.
  12. Looking forward to this, my first facehammer! Someone might want to check the event timings in the pack though. Game 1&2 have 3 hrs, 3 is listed as 2hrs (17:00-19:00). Pack still says rounds last 2.5hrs also.
  13. Source: Email to retailers from GW. 'For now' and 'current warbands' is very specific wording. Looks like others have speculated they dont want to keep 3+ seasons of warbands running at the same time. Expect for competitive play card ranges will be restricted. Doesnt affect me as just play with friends, but we all know how competitive rules drop into casual play against new people.
  14. I tired the cleansing phalanx for a while and struggled to get any benefit out of it other than reduced drops, CP and artefact (thats good enough though to be fair). With your list your drops are still high so I think for me 10 evocators is better than 2x5 and use the 120 points of the battalion on something else if you have it. Comet would be a good one, always fun in a SC list if you havent bought the model yet.
  15. Presumably youd just use it as Azyrite ruins? Since that is listed in the GHB and the Townscape kit just adds a few longer pieces and a floor, but is otherwise just some ruins.
  16. Look at what they have done with Kill Team, we have Heros and Elites, be unsurprising to have Warcry not include similar larger stronger models in the future (hopefully more new sculpts since we are on a chaos focus, and then of course AoS allegiances booster packs to add to the cards everyone can buy now 😉)
  17. Look like 2 medium plinth (shattered temple) pieces, a pair of dogs sprue, and a bridge/small plinth sprue. Cant see any pillars shown in the pic for this new set? Based on the current big set is £95, this new set would be minus the half round half square dias and pillars part of the set, say £40ish (round dias price separate), then add on £27 for another shattered temple plinth (and minus a bit for the pillars from that set). So maybe £70-80ish of value for the Shattered Stormvault set of estimate rrp £55-60. Yeah its not bad.
  18. How many prices rises did those models get in the last 5 years, thought this was the only one? Have their been any products that have had multiple increases, paints are only ones i can think of?
  19. A SIXTY SEVEN percent increase to... continue to be able to purchase a model that they would likely otherwise ditch from the range. There is a possible alternative for you.
  20. Metal models. Not something they make on a large volume at all and has always been labor intensive. They are obviously having to bump prices to cover costs, alternative would be to put up entire ranges to cover the loss on models 99% people wont buy.
  21. Its like World Series baseball, its essentially the US rankings 🤣 (no offence PJetski, you are a super ace player and community contributor, but ITC means nothing outside of US for AoS).
  22. Some way to add speed always adds benefits, like being able to block enemy movement or getting into combat when we need to. I dont do much shooting though, mobility for capturing objectives usually ties in with that (capping objectives youve cleared with shooting). Most of the time having the right stuff in the Celestial Realm is what ive done over points spent on relocation. Heraldor though is always worth a look, can pump out a serious amount of mortal wounds with his horn blast.
  23. Ran a 6 strong unit of Dracoline at the weekend with an Arcanum on Dracoline and a cheeky Heraldor for run and charge. They did well and lasted a good amount of time even when getting battered about, but perhaps that should be expected for 600pts. Struggled to make Pride Leader work on the unit as positioning was difficult to get the Lord tight against the unit for the wholly within 9", but when it worked it was amazing. I run as Tempest Lords (for my sins) so while I lose out elsewhere I am often lucky enough to have plenty of command points to spend, so was throwing 2 down at time on the Pack Alpha command ability to get 5 attacks from the mounts, my rolling was terrible so i think this saved me somewhat as I was always doing something with those attacks rather than a massive whiff. Looking forward to getting them stuck into tougher targets at a tournament next weekend.
  24. Ooo interesting. 4 haulers starts to get nasty. Think id rather have more wardens, 3 units of 3, instead of the second unit of thunderers. Lose the bonus CP though. Would put a lot of units spread across the board, could be hard to deal with.
