  1. 10-11 inches seems doable if that includes observation turrets, etc. to stretch it to that.
  2. I love the images of the actual miniatures on the new warscrolls - really helps out as model lines grow and names proliferate.
  3. I agree, knowing full well it's a lot of new code.
  4. Didn't cog forts come up first in a passing reference in the SOH story that set up the game? Or was it in City of Secrets?
  5. That is truly a sea of mean green. Amazing.
  6. If my choices are to live endlessly as a bag of rot under Nurgle, stumble around forever as an undead skeleton under Nagash, or be reformed by Sigmar until I forget where my car keys are, I'll take Sigmar.
  7. Simple to fix. Just don't let your good guys die on the tabletop. ;o)
  8. It's nice to hear the voice of other idiots like me.
  9. My wallet rage quits me every time I visit the game store.
  10. Getting into these airships has always intimidated me, but this is truly inspiring.
  11. Welcome to the clan. This is a great site and always inspiring and insightful.
  12. They must have some kind of distraction aura going on, because I didn't notice much armor.
  13. I just wonder how they're going to deal with the combat part of WARgaming... When you pull out a sword or axe, things tend to get messy.
  14. This all is precisely why GW leads the industry. They are constantly surprising us with fluff, minis, and gaming concepts I don't think anybody in this community anticipated. We had Cthulhu, fishman, and more pedestrian guesses, but nothing like this. As those in marketing know, 'new' catches attention, and 'new' sells. Consider me hooked.
  15. I find it really cool to see GW coming here to recruit. It's obvious this isn't a typical hobby site - TGA is filled with passionate supporters of creativity, modeling skills, helpful attitudes, insightful game play analysis, and ace painting skills. This is also a salute to Ben, Gaz, and everybody else who makes this site something special.
  16. Ben, have you approached GW? I had EA help with server costs for our most prolific blog hoster (he kickstarted 500), back when we ran Majestic online. You have a huge, positive, and growing community here that gives GW great PR and product exposure. It would be a shame to inhibit newcomers because you might see some that are turned off when money is involved (most people *expect* everything on the net to be free).
  17. I would go for a few banner ads and subs for those who want something extra, but I don't throw more regular charges on my charge card. Period.
  18. I don't know why people are so hung up on these psycho snake women being Order. +++ MOD EDIT ++ We do not need to refer to Historical References here. Do not do it again
  19. Imagine the damage a whole unit of Shards could do... I could also go for a unit of female Marauders. The old ones are very meh.
  20. RuneBrush, outstanding work like this (and the helpful army advice, the friendly atmosphere, and the superb modeling/painting) are why I come to TGA every day.
  21. There are lots of ways to kit bash one, but they get pricey. I'll give a shopping list in US dollars: Legs: a Soul Grinder or Defiler ($66) give big enough legs for a reasonable bastion (not a real fort). These are probably your best bet - the Skittari legs are too small for a big top part. Top: a lot of ways to go, but will often need the lower leg body be stretched. Imperial Bastion ($41.25) is cheapest, but probably needs some fake stone pieces glued on to break up the sleek modern look, and maybe the base removed to fit the legs. The Chaos Dreadhold - Skull Keep is more in the right style ($75) but will need to be painted to turn the brass bits to carved stone, and some spiked bits toned down. Fortress of Redemption ($115) has an imposing tower, but is a lot to spend unless you can use the rest of the kit for 40k, and might need two sets of legs to look balanced. There are older GW terrain kits that are out of print that you could also use, and their eBay prices will vary. The 40k Wall of Martyrs Vengeance Weapon Battery ($50) gives you 2 bastions you could glue base-to-base for a more oval top part, and the gun mounts look reasonable for a top turret. I also like the Da Vinci Tank Model kit ($15), but it's a funky rubber plastic so you'll need a pin solution to secure it to the legs. You'll also want to open up cannon ports. Guns: 2 Organ Guns ($25/ea.) and 2 Hellblaster Volly Guns ($25/ea.) give you bits for a free extra 2 cannons and 2 Hellstorm Rocket Batteries. Some can poke out of gun ports, and you can modify the gun carriages to suit on the top area. Bling: the Arkanaut Ironclad ($115) gives you a ton of extra parts for cockpits, pipes and gears, 3 extra weapons (Sky Cannon, Sky Hook, Volly Gun), flagpoles, and the extra cannons poking out of the hull mean you have all the weapons you need. The globes can be integrated too - perhaps in halves as boilers. You should have enough bits for a drawbridge, bombs you can drop in defense, and with some work the front of the hull could hang off the bottom of the leg body if you straighten the legs enough. Some of the railing could also be incorporated into top parapets. The Frigate ($80) also works, but if you're spending crazy money on this model, don't hold back now! Crew: between a mix of guns and/or Sky Doorfs, you got plenty to crew your mobile fortress. Happy glue sniffing!
  22. Bug Grot troops of even bug anything green and I'm there. Wacky is good.
