  1. So I guess it's all speculation, but what's the difference between this new offspring of Slaanesh and a Daemon, aren't they already made from parts of the chaos gods themselves? Or are they saying it's one of the elven souls that had previously been eaten, being birthed into a new form?
  2. I'd like to think the club is Ironjawz related. But they've only recently had a new Underworlds warband, therefore my guess would be Ogors of some kind.
  3. Possibility of a further lockdown for the GW HQ and Factory: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/28/nottinghamshire-expected-to-enter-tier-3-covid-restrictions-on-friday They may have some better procedures in place, with people working from home, but if staff cannot work in the factory it might start impacting production again. The Tier system confuses me though, so I might be wrong
  4. When Imperial Knights were released there was one kit that had two builds, but the different build was just a weapon option. That then grew through other options added in later (also through FW options). Early on it wasn't really a full army and a lot of people buying them were allying them into existing armies. I would imagine that in a few years there will be updated Gargant kits and (fingers crossed) some Forgeworld kits. For now i'm just enjoying an impressive new kit and they've provided me with the rules to use it alongside my existing armies. Couldn't really ask for more to be honest.
  5. I've got the basic body of my gargant assembled. Originally he was going to join my Ironjawz, so would only need a couple of tweaks to get him to fit. But I'll now be raiding my bits box as I'm sure I have some spare parts from the plastic knight kit (having a full 30k Knight army helps lol). A gargant sized http://www.sodemons.com/rhgiants2/forgeworld/fwsiegegiant/index.htm ? That would be perfect.
  6. Got my pre-order late (my fault, not the retailers) and so am only just starting to build and go through the book, but one line caught my eye: "Unfortunately for the alliance, the Chaos duardin have gargants of their own, ensorcelled and clad in blackiron plate" - Cool in their own right, but then they are defending a giant chaos dwarf oil rig type fortress I've now paused my build and as someone with some FW chaos dwarves already, I'm thinking how to go about making such a cool chaos gargant...
  7. Is GW really "the worst"? It's a UK based company, doing well, providing jobs, paying UK tax, investing in new manufacturing space in the UK. Yes they're a company that wants to make money for it's shareholders, but that hardly makes it the worst, it's no different to many other businesses.
  8. We've already seen the previews for the new Orcs and Human teams I think? Wanting the Orcs to convert into Ironjawz, so would be happy if they're released soon.
  9. Any chance the main kit will sell out in the morning?
  10. As excited as I am to get the new kit, I can't but help think about the future. Especially the potential for FW to produce some upgrade kits. The Siege Giant from FW (sadly OOP) is a good example of something they could do, either theming kits based on armies or even realms. Other examples are the Imperial Knights or Lord of Skulls upgrade kits. Look at how how the original Imperial Knight kickstarted a whole host of upgrades, variants and even new designs.
  11. Keeping an eye on ebay or trading forums can get you cheaper stuff. Especially if you're prepared to strip old paint jobs. Sometimes charity shops/garage sales can have cheap stuff, especially as most people don't know how to price it. Discount sellers, LFGS, etc can have around 20% off GW prices. Save up and spend more time painting what you have, until you can afford something new. Unless you're a superhuman, then I guess you'll have a pile of unfinished projects, I know I do. Or buy some shares in GW itself, then use the profits/dividends to buy more stuff!
  12. I'll be picking one up to go with my Ironjawz, but from looking at the kit, there doesn't seem to be any options for customizing it beyond picking your variant. So without heavy conversion, all Warstompers will look the same?
  13. I also miss the days of WFB where heros/etc were much more customizable with mounts and equipment. The closest we have now in AoS is the recent addition of the Anvil of Apotheosis which does allow quite a lot of freedom in creating your own rules to cover all sorts of custom heroes.
  14. Great work, got to imagine how fun it'd be to play on that board. The idea of hanging it up like a picture for storage is a great idea also. Do you know how heavy it is and what wall mounting you'll be using?
  15. That would make sense in terms of making it difficult to make it's sustainable business. I did look into it briefly as I know there is clearly a market for it, but it didn't work out viable for me. Some of the kitbases I've done are only possible due to bits sellers, I don't even want to think how much they'd cost if I bought the full kits used... Sometimes though I have bought a full kit for a specific part, then years down the line, you're going through your own bitsbox and find the other bits useful.
  16. I don't think the concept is dead, it's just a very time and energy consuming enterprise to do it well and so not many people who start, carry on with it. The upfront costs, the administration, storage and organization required. Ones I've used in the past include a few that focus mainly on 40k such as https://www.letthedicedecide.co.uk/ and https://www.bitzbox.co.uk/, which do have some AoS bits, although not a full range. There is also https://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/ which has the largest choice of AoS kits, but is also really popular and so sells out a lot of the most wanted bits minutes after their restock email goes out. I've seen their email come in and by the time I've loaded the site and checked the bit I was after, it was already sold out. If I'm patient, I've found I've been able to get most bits I've been after for conversions. Subscribing with the different sites for notifications / stock alerts, setting up ebay search alerts, etc. If you're still struggling, buy the full kit yourself, take what you want and sell off the rest of it on ebay to make the money back.
  17. Not sure how they work it out, i've had an offer of £6 if I spend £40, but have also seen £5 if spending £50.
  18. My AoS setup is a gaming mat and some pre-painted terrain from gamemat.eu - https://www.gamemat.eu/en/terrain/pre-painted-resin-terrain/badlands-set.html I also have a few pieces of the orc themed terrain from https://www.minimonsters.eu/
  19. This is a good call. The actual sculpt isn't too bad as a one off for it's time, but it doesn't really compare to the plastic Ogors, which aren't that new, but still are a nice kit. For an updated version see Creature Caster's Drakon I'd also mention the Ardboyz, they don't really fit the look of the Ironjawz, just being a re-boxed set of old Black Orcs, but rules wise are one of the best units.
  20. Can this work in reverse? Eg, I like the warscroll for Ardboyz but then you see the models and just think, yuck, I'll pass.
  21. Thanks guys, the painting will be the best way to make another stand out I think. Once I finish my current Megaboss on foot, I'll be ready to make another on a Maw Krusha. I'm a bit obsessed with Megabosses right now, currently have 3 on foot, 1 on MK and another on gigantic squiggoth in progress.
  22. So as GW likes to release dice for each faction and the recent non-d6-d6s for the Lumineth proved popular, I'm willing to bet the Sons of Behemat get a single large D6 as part of their release. So large it'll crush any infantry it rolls over. I'm calling it now.
  23. Quick question, for those who take 2x Maw Krushas, how are you guys making them look different? I'm thinking about getting a second, but the Maw Krusha part of the kit doesn't have any assembly options, beyond the head option or just painting him a different colour.
