  1. Gotrek is likely gonna be one of those models that are gonna be absolutely brutal in beginner/casual games, but fall off once you get to tournaments where players know exactly how to adapt/fight him.
  2. I'm getting more and more curious/hyped as days go by and the Warclan tome isn't announced. Surely if it was just a mashup of Ironjawz + Bonesplitterz, it wouldn't take them this long to release. After seeing the Gotrek rules, I'm curious if they would do a similar thing with Gordrakk. Allow him to be an ally in any Destruction army since all of them are worshippers of Gorkamorka, but with new rules. He's a pretty badass in lore, and according to the newest stuff, he's seeking a fight directly with Sigmar because he finds nobody else worthy. Right now his stats and rules are pretty lackluster, so a beefed up Gordrakk would be amazing. I'm obviously not expecting a profile like Gotrek, but an extra feel-no-pain save would be sick and overall damage output buffed. He is an avatar of Gork after all. I'm really hyped for the new tome, but also afraid all my dreams might be crushed.
  3. Is this a GW trend? Because I have personally I don't see why they couldn't have 40k and AoS go up at the same time. I have zero interest in 40k as an example.
  4. Well they obviously have something in store to show at Nova, I personally doubt it will only be Death. But lets wait and see. 😉
  5. I'm getting a little excited for Nova. They said more info in regards to "The Tithe" will be exposed there. I'm hoping they will have more info for us too.
  6. I dont think IP is broken or too strong. CPs are generally really important, and having to “waste” a CP sucks for a lot of armies. For armies with an abundance of CPs, it is probably a matter of balance. Too many benefits/buffs are passive/aura rather than CP for that army, or they simply have too many/too easy ways of generating them. Using a CP should be a decision with powerful effects.
  7. I bought a picture frame from IKEA and glued a sheet of fabric where you place the picture, then put it back. Works great. The fabrick removes a lot of noise from the dice hitting the tray. Super easy and fun to do.
  8. I watch battle reps and read up on the army. My friend also got like half the armies so sometimes I get to play his to try them.
  9. But is that a great mechanic? The issue with the double-turn isnt just being smashed, it is just as much smashing your opponent to the ground without them being able to do much. It feels bad winning like that IMO.
  10. Unfortunately their teasers/trailers etc are an indication of how big the release will be. The fact that Orruks only got shown a book kinda hints that there most likely wont be any new models. I dont think its unrealistic that all Orruks are getting, are new rules/stats/batallions/alligiance abilities etc. I was personally hoping for new Ardboyz. They look terrible compared to how many details the Brutes/Gore Gruntas have.
  11. This is honestly such a weird reply. Oh so you like the suspense and randomness? Why dont we introduce more! Lets roll off how many models you get to bring! How about Rolling for what models you get to put on the table! Etc. Pretty much same logic - Just because people want something done to the dobble turn doesnt mean they want ALL randomness gone. Just like you dont want everything being random either, right? Personally Im ok with the dobble turn, if they introduced more incentives to going second. Moving predatory Endless spells isnt enough. Most people I play with either dont bring any, or they bring non-predatory/spells that have no effect on their own army.
  12. I don't really believe in alternating activations for AoS. Reports from Warcry are already stating that horde forces have an advantage since you can out-activate your opponent. This could easily be the same for AoS where horde armies can activate random chaff units and force the enemy to move his key units, then capatalize on all of his units being deployed when you still miss doing yours. I really just think they need more incentives to going second even when you have a choice of a double turn.
  13. I haven't experienced that you can already win by turn 2 by having too many VPs. We played Gift of Heavens yesterday (I think that's what it is called - The 2 meteors in each zone) and the later the turn, the more VP you earn. This means being wiped early game is 100% a loss since 2 captured points at the end of turn 5 easily outweights all the previous turns really. I often times give my opponent the first turn in battle round 1, unless I can see that I can snipe something (playing Ironjawz). But it doesn't really matter, this just means that I might end up wrecking his face by getting 2 turns back-to-back without him responding. Again, with how punchy armies are, I feel this is not-so-enjoyable experience at times. In general I feel it is very rare our games go past turn 3 at my local gaming group. Maybe it is a result of us playing rather punchy armies/lists. I'll admit it can be lack of better play, I just don't really see it. We are not tournament-level players I'll admit as much.
  14. My issue with the double turn comes down to how punchy some armies are. Lets say a FEC player goes last. Buffs his dudes with 3+ attacks, then attacks twice ontop of that with Feeding Frenzy. The rolloff comes up and he wins. Im basically having to deal with him attacking 4 times between my 2 turns. Same with a Keeper getting to fight twice, 2 times in a row. From my experience very few games last until round 3/4 because of how hard hitting and volatile the armies are with fight double mechanics. At my local VPs are irrelevant, because an army is crushed way before VPs start to matter. Going second is therefore never a good choice, because by then a large chunck of your army is gone. Very few use meaningful Endless spells that are predatory.
  15. It really depends on what you aim for. You want to be super competitive? The current lists either go for Ungors + Bestigors from Beasts of Chaos, or 3 Keeper of Secrets with MSU Daemonettes. In more casual games almost anything works as long as you have a little more focus on heroes.
  16. The Keeper has the CA to fight twice and Locus on a 2+ is also very valuable.
  17. Good idea with this thread, but I feel like people often have a "buy this, buy that" attitude towards new players, instead of taking a step back and advicing the new player as to what faction they should start investing in. Nobody did this with me, and I happily invested in a faction due to the fluff. I didn't even think about how they played on the table, and it bit me in the ass later on when it came to actually playing the game. I think some of the important questions you have to ask a new player is: What is the goal? Do they want to just buy, collect and paint? Then fluff and "rule of cool" is king. Do they actually want to play the game? In which case, casual mode or semi competitive? If casual, fluff/rule of cool is still king. If semi competitive, power level of the army is super relevant. There is a HUGE difference between the old books and the newer ones, and it sucks having invested in an "abandoned" faction. If they want to play the game, what do they fancy? Aggressive melee army that rushes across the board to smash the enemy's face in? Some tanky army with good saves? Some army that stands back and shoots the enemy? Army that specializes in heavy magic? Do they want a horde army? My army "required" 150+ models to be competitive. If I had known this, I would never have spent a dime on that army. Maybe a semi elite - "normal" army is more interesting for them. Having to buy, assemble and paint 100+ models for a 2k point game can be very intimidating for new players. Pushing that many models across the table is also incredible annoying for some players. Etc. etc. The hobby is expensive, and personally I would've liked to not having spent that much cash on an army I will never play again.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if they released Free Cities and Orruks at the same time. Perhaps even make a box ala Looncurse. Orcs vs Humans is such a classic concept. Probably sometime around October to match their "Orktober" meme.
  19. @Malakree What is your equipment on the Ardboyz? Do you go full shield or 50/50 since its rare to get every model into base contact?
  20. Good job man! Was it the same list as the one you posted on page 97?
  21. It is absolutely important to talk about the best-case, but suggesting changes based on the very base-case isn't the solution when it will just ****** on your average game as a Slaanesh player. The worst-case is also important, but everyone seems to ignore it. Slaanesh summoning is so reliant on the army you face, where as most other summon abilities don't really care. I would much rather have the DP generation be somewhat normalized so it is reliable in all of my games, rather than the current situation where Im able to summon multiple Keepers in one game, and 10 Daemonettes max in the next game. This isn't enjoyable for me, and it is often not an ability I can rely on at all. I guess maybe my local is more dominated by 1 wound model armies, but it isn't often I get to generate the insane numbers you see people throwing around.
  22. From personal experience I have seen a fair few local Slaanesh players that calculate Depravity Points completely wrong, like ignoring the fact "abilities" on warscrolls don't contribute. This could lead to some insane games that aren't following the correct rules and will obviously result in way too many DP being generated. People also seem to only talk about the best-case-scenario for DP generation (fighting multiple wound models with little to no shooting/magic), and completely ignore the situations where the Slaanesh player is starved all game and almost all the DP is purely from taking damage (almost entirely 1 wound army with high shooting/magic). Simply increasing the amount of points needed to summon a Keeper etc. would just add to the already bad matchups.
  23. It sounds like you enjoy the casual aspect of Warcry, but OP specifically created this thread with the focus on the competitive aspect being dilluted by 6s creating too many swingy situations.
  24. Slaanesh already suffers a lot from super heavy shooting armies. The majority of the gamebreaking Depravity Point generation is from killing monsters or multiple wound models, not from taking damage in the shooting phase tbh.
  25. The Depravity Point mechanic should be reworked. It is kinda silly to have 150+ in a game vs FEC etc., but having near zero vs Seraphon (fighting screen after screen of Skinks) and Skaven. The outcome of the summoning is so swingy depending on the army you fight. I would rather have it somewhat "normalized" so you have somewhat same outcome regardless of what the enemy fields. FEC/Seraphon etc. doesn't care what they play against - They will have the same summon oppotunities, but that isn't the case for Slaanesh where it is either extremely broken or simply terrible.
