  1. I can't see them getting rid of CoS anytime soon. That would create a LOT of bad blood in the community.
  2. Well the options are a King on Gryph or the Lord and the Gryph is 400pts... I gave the Lord a Runeblade for -3 rend. Enchantress has the DAMSEL keyword so does that not work for the errants?
  3. My Lords and Ladies! Doing some list-bashing with the Brets I've come up with this, thoughts? Lord - Runeblade Enchantress Noble Champion Sacred Protector 2x8 Knights Errant 8 Knights of the Realm 5 Grail Knights 32 Bowmen Trebuchet Feels like it might at least have some legs. Archers and Treb put out nice damage at range and the 30 Knights that start on the table basically play aggressive with the Lord granting reroll charges. Enchantress buffs whoever needs it. Protector appears and makes a nuisance of himself, hopefully within range of the re-roll charges ability. Noble Champ babies the peasants.
  4. That's much better, thanks! I wanted to add them to my Cities of Sigmar army so was looking at what is the best option, are they viable as a fast but somewhat tough distraction etc
  5. Funnily enough I had this idea too. Maybe 2 to a base, it can be a wizard on Pegasus or something...
  6. Sorry but that's not very helpful at all. I'm asking about the units themselves and you've suggested playing entirely different ones?!
  7. Only with the living city Battalion sadly
  8. Hmm yeah, they seemed a little lack luster. Oh well, back to the drawing board...
  9. I'm looking at using some Prosecutors and an Azyros... Any tips my friends? Best loadouts/ other support?
  10. I've got some old Bret Pegasus Knights in storage and looking for a way to bring them into cities... Sadly flying units are few and far between in cities, I think my best bet might be Prosecutors and a Knight-Azyros... Thoughts?
  11. Legions of Nagash is an incredible book still, a little dated now but really cool in it's concept and execution. It perfectly sorted out the undead models in a coherent way! I think we may see a redo of this book in time, probably to clean up stuff, change Nagash and Arkhan go match their (presumably) coming changes in Bonereapers and also pop the NH units they can use in the book etc. At the same time we'll probably see things like Batswarms, Fellbats and other resin minis either get squatted or a new kit. The plastic bats in FEC Beastgrave give me hope! My dream would be a Soulblight book, with an AoS twist. "Fire" Slayers, "Undersea" Elves are the examples of this. Zombies are a very dated kit so honestly I don't see them sticking around and also fall into that "generic" trope that GW seemingly wants to avoid (see: squatted Dwarf Warriors/ Missile units) to keep them unique. I actually wonder if Dragons might be the theme with the Vampires. It's a natural progression of the Blood Dragons fluff, and links in with the plastic kit. Plus they recently squatted the Order dragon faction...!
  12. I'm fully expecting the 3" charge from deep strike to be nerfed or clarified as impossible in the "2 week" FAQ. It's very strong and is out of line with the rest of the game. Also no older battalions in the Cities, much in the way Legions of Nagash cannot take Nighthaunt battalions as they require Nighthaunt allegiance.
  13. Considering rend 1 they'll stop about 2/3 wounds coming their way if thats what you mean. They're insanely resilient!
  14. Sorc on black dragon is really tasty looking at it. Bladewind will absolutely murder hordes like you say... Which is very useful as other spells will want to go for tougher targets.
  15. @IzotzuhureI like the use of Gotrek, he's a great deterrant against would be invaders of the inner circle of wizards... However he and the comet are a whopping 620pts of your list... You also only have 40 bodies to fall back on. Sure you're immune to BS but I'd wonder if you wouldn't fold too quickly to some strong opposition. Then again the spells may well give you some decen control!
  16. So this was going to be my go-to combo, but I don't believe the artefact gives you the WIZARD key word, it just lets you cast a spell so you cannot use the Anointed as a target for Arcane Channeling.
  17. They are! I can't say them without speaking like a Dwarf from Total War either... "HAMMERERRRGGHHHS"
  18. I really like Living City, but the strongest gimmick seems to be the 3" charge from a naster character/ unit from Ambush. Honestly, I think i'll wait for an FAQ about that until I go in... As it feels inevitable that it will be changed!
  19. Sounds really promising @SwampHeart! A nice list with a solid mix of stuff; the real power of the cities book! Probably not a bad idea... However I think that would also necessitate the inclusion of a DISPOSSESED unit to go with him and make use of the prayers. Breakers/ Hammerers seem rather decent for the points too and a nice Anchor. Just a matter of Defence/ Offence.
  20. Rend is so prevalent that you are genuinely surprised when you fight something without it I find! 3+ saves re-rolling 1s from the Coven Throne was nasty. I'd also like to shout out Bat Swarms... They're silly fast and can really annoy your opponent if they make a mistake on an objective. I took a unit of 4 and the -1 to hit on shooting alone was worth it, however they tied up some Marauders and then retreated behind them onto an opponents objective to score at the end of the battleround! Whats even better is that unless your opponent deals wounds to them in brackets of 5, they just don't care (too much) as you only need to deal a single wound back to chaff to fully heal a base o' bats! I didn't have them near enough to a hero for the 6++ but if I did they'd be even harder to take down. With the advent of Cities of Sigmar and their dreaded gunlines, a simple unit of bats could cause untold mayhem to your opponents plans
  21. Not sure where you got allies being part of the city... 😅 No just they count towards the 1 in 4 like all others.
  22. Confirmed on stream today that yes, they all count towards it. So you could actually have four units in Tempest Eye be: One Cities Unit One SC Unit One KO Unit One Allies Unit As they all need to be "one in 4 units in your army"
  23. So i'm thinking of the best way to use channeling CA... It's either got to be: High wound count Wizard with Ignax Scales, which uses a relic slot... Like a Hurricanum or Mage on Griffin. This also has the bonus of a large base for the aura to reach other wizards. OR A Wizard with a decent number of wounds (6 or less) and a retinue of Phoenix Guard who you can pass the wounds onto. Again could combine with Ignax, for essentially 3 rolls to stop it. Lord-Arcanum seems pretty good having 6 wounds, plus with the bonus' to cast you're going to be getting off prime electids a lot for big D6 mortal wound Arcane Bolts. Even rolling a 6 on the channelling is seldom likely to kill them with a 4+ pass in addition to other defenses you may give them. I also like the Arcanum because of his CA to boost endless spells movement range by D6, which make a Purple Sun move 13"-18", which is utterly terrifying and also means your opponent cannot send it back to hurt you easily.
  24. Oh definitely. It certainly has for me. Even just a +1 to cast is so handy. I like combining with a Mortis Engine for +2. The Heal/ Damage bomb is also really good with Soulblight as it keeps the heroes topped off and hurts enemy MSU which we would struggle with. @Ignatius "Nate" T, that sounds AWESOME and you've really inspired me. I definitely agree with BKs on the charge, they're one of the hardest hitting units in the game. In my tussle against Nurgle I managed to get an extra CP from terrain so T1 I gave them an extra attack from a lord and re-roll 1s to save/hit/wound from a Coven Throne. It was savage, just so accurate and powerful. Their main weakness is anything with rend as it negates the Shields and pops them to a 5+ save which can get dicey. However my opponents blightkings (rend -) could hardly touch them.
