  1. Kind of a shame they do white boxes haha, for whatever reason I like getting branded boxes. Obviously I'd prefer AoS boxes, but honestly WFHB boxes might be preferable to plain white boxes (though I guess the AoS boxes are largely plain white)
  2. Do they just ship them in WHFB-branded boxes and like open them up and throw in some round bases in the box? EDIT: Oops responded too fast @bsharitt haha, thanks for the response
  3. Totally agree, their website isn't super clear about bases and new AoS-branded boxes. For example the Bestigors are shown on the website as square bases but someone told me their order came with both bases, and I'm not sure if they're in the original WFHB box or a new AoS-branded box. And then with CoS some of the units have gotten new pics with round bases but not all of them, but I'm sure they'll all at least have round bases thrown in.
  4. I dunno that seems a bit extreme to me: why bother having a setting if there's no nitty-gritty like trade or logistics? I'm all for knowing more and more stuff, but I certainly don't think we need to know EVERYTHING in order to have a valid setting
  5. That's certainly how I read it but I don't play Orruks so I wasn't super sure
  6. Eh don't really think they got announced too early, if they do legitimately get released in October that's at most 2 months between announcement and release for a brand new army. It was announced at NOVA which IMO seems like a perfect place to announce them. As soon as they start doing previews again the hype will pick back up
  7. Wonder what that means for Orruks since I can't imagine they'd get their own spells but also can't imagine they'd get the same "buff" as CoS is getting
  8. @Agent of Chaos Thanks so much for the list! I should've mentioned the Brass Despoilers as I was definitely using that battalion as a starting off point and building my army from there. The list seems a bit pricey so it'd definitely be something I have to build up to haha. But since I really am totally new to wargaming in general, I definitely wasn't looking for like a tournament-viable list or anything, definitely just something way more casual for like games at my local store or whatnot, like you said. I just wanted to see if like the idea of having such a mixed army was so off that it'd even be bad for a casual setting, but based on your post that doesn't seem to be the case!
  9. I'm a little bit iffy on the names of the leaders but all of these besides the Spirit Hosts come in the Soul Wars box, correct? So if you have that, a Nighthaunt warband for Warcry should be relatively cheap and easy to start right away?
  10. Hey all! New to the hobby, and thinking of what army to go with (I have Soul Wars but neither SCE nor Nighthaunt quite scratch the itch for me). After poking around with my limited understanding of the rules, it seems that you can get a fair amount of model flexibility with a Khorne army: naturally you get the mortals and daemons, but then StD can get the Khorne mark, and a BoC battalion can get the Khorne keyword. The idea of running a Khorne army with basically 4 separate "races" really appeals to me, and after poking through the various box sets for each (Start Collecting, Battleforces, Wrath and Rapture), I managed to cobble together a 2k list with all 4 "races." But since I'm not super knowledgeable about rules and haven't ever really played seriously, I have no idea how to evaluate it. Is the idea of having a mortals/daemons/StD/BoC Khorne army even viable at the outset? Or without even seeing an army list can you guys probably say that it just wouldn't work?
