  1. Could the Soul-thief be Slaanesh, do you think? I mean, Nagash regards anyone who stops him getting souls as a soul-thief, not just Sigmar.
  2. I have 30 Glade Guard, but if this is the end of the warscroll, they shall become 30 Sisters of the Watch. It may be just the sculpts going and a new version coming. I'm fairly confident Aelf archers will always find a place in the game. The important thing is that Wanderers are included in a battletome and this means that, even if no pure battletome appears, you know you'll be able to play Wanderers for several years to come. Anything more is gravy.
  3. The Katophranes were masters of science, alchemy and magic and had knowledge of them enough to use grave-sand to make themselves immortal. That was why Nagash placed his curse upon them - because they had denied him their souls. My speculation is that Sigmar will build a chamber of them to fight death magic with death magic to bring about the downfall, or ruination of, Nagash. Of course, this is just theory and yours is just as likely, or it could be something else entirely. I am, though, looking forward to seeing what each of the unopened chambers is for eventually.
  4. My own theory is that Sigmar has been sending Stormcast into the Underworld, not only to gather Shadeglass to help perfect the Stormcast remaking process, but also to rescue Katophrane souls from Nagash's imprisonment, and has been turning them into a new Chamber (Ruination?) ready to be his instrument to topple Nagash as the supreme God of Death and replace him with another death god that has so far eluded Nagash's grasp. Phew, just realised that was all one sentence. You may now breathe.
  5. The main thing that stands out for SotW are their magical flaming bows. Add some flame effect to the bows and they'd be instantly identifiable as SotW. I don't know any specific site, but if you type in sculpting flames with greenstuff, several videos come up. Hope that's helpful. If you find a good one, or work out a good method yourself, can you let us know as I suspect we may be needing to reassign our Glade Guard. I, for one, wouldn't mind turning my 30 into SotW if they are discontinued.
  6. You could use them as Wildwood Rangers quite easily, if you still wanted to use the models. The two units are both foresters of sorts, and wield two-handed weapons, so calling them "The White Lions" as their regimental name would fit fine. Not quite the same, I realise that, but at least you can continue to use the models going forward.
  7. It'll be interesting to see what changes are made to which warscrolls in the Cities battletome. Also be interesting to see how much change there is in city allegiance rules compared to Firestorm.
  8. They could be being repackaged with round bases.
  9. Well, we do only have the bare bones to go on.
  10. Well, you've got me there. But they have points and are allies in the Gloomspite Gitz battletome. I can only assume that, unless we hear otherwise, this year will be their last - in matched play at least.
  11. I agree that this is a possibility. Alarielle and the Sylvaneth do still remember that the Wanderers did retreat to Azyr during the Age of Chaos, leaving them to fight on alone. The Wanderers at that time were being wiped out by Nurgle's Rot and had no cure or protection from it, so really had no choice. As a Druidic/shamanistic culture, it is possible that some chose to remain behind and, as the Idoneth did for their soul-rot, looked to their magics to find resistance or cure to Nurgle's Rot. Through trial and experimentation, this may have ultimately led to a gradual change in shape over many generations (the Age of Chaos was a long time ago even for Aelves). So what we could be seeing is the re-emergence of more feral Wanderer Tribes descended from those who did not retreat to Azyr, but fought on in the Realms. Some have changed more dramatically than others, depending on their lineage.
  12. Greenskins as a faction have points in GHB 2019. They haven't gone away. Gitmob Grots, on the other hand ..........
  13. If the silhouette in the Beastgrave trailer is a Centaur, I'm wondering if some of the souls that have escaped from Slaanesh are Wanderer souls and have been resurrected by a God, possibly Kurnoth, by merging them with beasts, aka Morathi for the snake ladies and Khinerai. If so, I'd love to see some winged Wanderers; not like the Khinerai, but true Aelves with the feathered wings of an eagle.
  14. I have 2 Spire of Dawn sets waiting for the day I know the models have a long shelf-life in the game, so I'm with you on that one. May even re-base some of my old Dark elves.
  15. Do you know if, apart from Hammerhal, the Swifthawk agents were a faction for any of the Firestorm cities?
  16. Which picture do you mean? I can't see either of them on the community page pic, only WWR and EG for aelven infantry.
  17. Classic greek centaurs were famed archers, so they could fulfil the role of long range missile cavalry. If we got a mounted hero, an all cav army would be possible.
  18. There is a Spellweaver in resin available at the moment - 2nd row down under Aelves. I agree we need one hero with a bow, hopefully, it's the Waywatcher.
  19. In the Description of Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws in Malign Sorcery, Ravenak is purported to be a God-beast, given the name the mighty Fangmaw by Gutbusters. It was mentioned in ancient texts as having a voracious and endless appetite. Long ago Sigmar sealed it under a mountain. This endless spell originates from Ghur and bones are, as the core book says, "a common sight in the Realm of Beasts". This Realm has a large Gutbuster presence and controlled largely by Gorkamorka. ( coincidentally, it's also where the next Underworlds is set). You may be onto something.
  20. I've just had a thought. If we are getting centaurs, are they Wanderer souls that escaped from Slaanesh and, if so, which God was involved? Has Kurnoth been stealing souls from under the nose of the other four? It's unlikey to be Alarielle, given her grievances. I would love it to be Lileath's daughter, aided by Araloth, in some revelatory new lore, but that's just wishful thinking.
  21. So Hammerhal for the Hurricanum then. It will probably no longer be all of Order (except Seraphon) now though, but probably the only city to include all the factions rolled into the book. So looking forward to mixing it up a little and getting some conversions done. I have an Aelf bolt thrower chariot in box just waiting to be the base for a Hurricanum or Luminark. If we get a battletome on top of this, I will be penniless
  22. Thanks for that. I never bought Firestorm, so thought the 7 included the Death and Destruction allegiances that were included. Yes, the teaser for Underworlds looks pretty interesting from a Wanderers perspective. I hope it leads to a a new tome along the lines of DoK, with new sculpts alongside existing ones with specific clans - that would be awesome. Which cities, beside the Living City, included Wanderers?
  23. It looks like the time is coming to re-base all (well, some) of my old metal Greenskins to be Savage Orruks. It'll certainly be a lot cheaper. Probably start with 30 Arrerboyz as ranged support for my Ironjawz. Now I have to decide if I can afford both this tome and the Cities of Sigmar one, or will have to choose which comes first.
  24. They also said that the local electrical grid is having to be upgraded to allow capacity to be increased as well.
