  1. I hope whatever happens Arkhan's trip to the Realm's edge fixes his teeth. Gotta feel for the guy, bought back a gazillion times by Nagah with the same canonically awful teeth, and no lips to hide them behind.
  2. Thanks! Teclis was one of the few elf mages (he reckons about one in ten) skilled enough to see through the subtle glamours cast on the Everqueen compelling other elves to be nice to her. Really should get round to finishing that series. Work got in the way and I was sort of dreading having to politely make sense of Teclis and Lileath's motivations during the End Times.
  3. Just finished reading this, overall pretty good. Couple of observations: Some fairly niche details WFB about Teclis show up in his profile page - Teclis having walked the Paths of the Old Ones in the Gotrek and Felix novel Giantslayer (the only place they're named as that or Teclis is mentioned as having travelled them); and the Sword of Teclis having been described in Teclis' first 4th edition appearances (and never since) as being 'charged with celestial power', something I speculated in my really quite sad blog series on Teclis could be linked to Azyr, and is confirmed here, which is neat. Teclis' AoS 'Lunar Staff' is also confirmed to be the Moon Staff of Lileath by Alarielle, and while cba to check I'm fairly sure it ran out of juice around the time Lileath herself did during the End Times. The Lumineth show Teclis is nothing if not sentimental, so maybe he repaired/charged it back up himself. Nagash's whole Soul Wars storyline buildup getting unceremoniously smacked down by elves out of nowhere does feel a bit like if Craftworld Ulthwe had pulled up unprompted during the Siege of Terra and shot the Vengeful Spirit with Horus and all the traitor primarchs on it out of orbit, and feels like a big missed opportunity, but maybe it'll give the mortarchs a chance to shine without Nagash. WFB's undead characters were super compelling without Nagash around and chasing their own petty ambitions in his shadow, so bring it on I guess.
  4. I think you're forgetting Mr. Totally-not-a-Bloodthirster from OG Heroquest ๐Ÿ˜œ
  5. Quite like the idea of Glaurio (the duellist guy) as general made pretty survivable with -1 to hit and a 4+ bodyguard ward daring stuff to allocate attacks to to him and suffer mortal wounds in return, but he's not exactly worth the payoff of giving up a command trait for. Like you said, the wizard's not complete butt, but the rest really aren't worth sneezing at. If they didn't have the leader role like the Grimwrath Berzerker and other non buffy combat heroes I'd probably take all of them as I hate painting models like to run a lot of characters, but yeah, sad.
  6. You can always give a Freeguild hero the one Hysh artefact from the GHB 2020
  7. She's called a Kurnothi here, and her WHQ card has the Sylvaneth keyword on it here, so I wouldn't hold your breath. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  8. Going by the previous Kurnothi warband released for Underworlds, I reckon she'll be Sylvaneth instead, so CoS if you play Living City, which face it, you probably already do if you're in it for the Wood Elf types... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  9. https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/AoS_Warscrolls/Eng_Ellania_Ellathor.pdf These two can be taken as allies in any Order army, and are basically an extra adjutant command point farm, which is neat.
  10. I made a great big assumption that the five human heroes would be getting the CoS keyword, yep! The Warhammer Community article has since confirmed Jelsen Darrock being CoS, fingers crossed for the other four... ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž
  11. So it looks like we're getting another new city allegiance in the second Broken Realms book (anyone else hoping this continues for the entire series?), and unsurprisingly given who's name is on the cover, it's a 1 in 4 units may be Lumineth one. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/03/26/how-to-survive-a-godly-smackdown-between-teclis-and-nagash/ I'm sure there are some CoS keyword shenanigans someone better acquainted with point elves can probably explain. Teclis throwing out empowered endless spells anyone?
  12. Hey look, an article about it: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/03/19/you-can-use-all-of-the-cursed-city-models-in-warhammer-age-of-sigmar/ This looks like it could be crazy annoying cast on already slow units:
  13. Not quite! ๐Ÿค“ The Beastlord and Centigor BoC (oldest models still sold) came out in late summer/early autumn 2003, making them about six months shy of 18 (drinking age over here at least). The Beastman Chariot came out in spring 1998, but was rereleased with new crew in 2003, so I'm not sure if it counts or uses the older version of the kit's photo as a dodgy fake ID. I'll give you the Skaven stuff though. Lord Skrolk Plague Priest with Censer, the Gutter Runners, Rat Swarms, Jezzails, Poisoned Wind Globadiers, Warlock Engineers, Warpfire Thrower, Ratling Gun, and those atrocious monkey rat Night Runners are actually dead in Skaven years (Skaven natural life expectancy being about 20 years).
  14. Two Underworlds warbands (albeit one not-really-Sylvaneth-but-with-the-Sylvaneth-keyword one)
  15. LITTLE ELF BABY THINKS HIS ARMY IS BEING NEGLECTED BY GW ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ COME BACK WHEN YOU'VE BEEN LOCKED IN THE ATTIC FOR DECADES WITH ONLY YOUR OWN SPIT FOR SUTINENCE AND TWO RESIN SYMPATHY MODELS RELEASED FOR A SPECIALIST GAME FEEL LIKE SPACE MARINE LEVEL ATTENTION
  16. This US retailer seems to have a single copy still available, not sure how much the shipping would set you back though! https://ettingames.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/ghoulslayer-hardcover
  17. @Dejnar Oof! Off to a solid start, but I'd get some Gyrocopters or allied Kharadron Skywardens in there to grab objectives, and unless you prefer the Ironbreaker models (the best reason to use any unit), consider swapping them out for great weapon Longbeards. I've not played very many games of AoS in the last 12 months owing to the current situation in the UK, but have written guides on getting the most out of Dispossessed units and Greywater Fastness armies if they're of interest: https://www.doublemisfire.com/2020/02/the-lonely-realmsphere-guide.html https://www.doublemisfire.com/2020/02/the-lonely-realmsphere-guide-greywater.html
  18. So, Saturday's big Warhammer Quest: Cursed City reveal dropped the entire contents of the box, including all eight of the playable adventurers, and confirmed that in line with Warcry warbands and the Blackstone Fortress explorers and baddies that everything in the box will be getting full AoS rules. (If you've been living under a rock, check out the Cursed City website here) At least five of these guys (Jelsen Darrock, Emelda Braskov, Glaurio ven Alten III, Cleona Zeitenglae and Octren Grimscry) are all but guaranteed Cities of Sigmar keywords, with the Kurnothi and Kharadon representatives at least usable in Living City and Tempest Eye armies (and as allies to everybody else). The only Cursed City hero CoS players aren't likely to get to use is Brutogg Corpse-Eater, the ogor; which is a big shame, as he's just so cool and would look great stood next to a Freeguild General as a bodyguard. Holding out for some kind of battalion or mercenary rules that mean we can squeeze him in ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž It's awesome that CoS are gonna have five special characters to call their own, having previously had none (unless you count borrowed Stormcast/Kharadon/Slyvaneth ones and grognard proximity to Gotrek). What are your hopes/predictions for these guys? Going by Warscry Warscrolls and the Blackstone Fortress stuff I doubt they'll have any gamebreaking rules, and will probably be slightly overcosted just to stay safe, but it's always nice to have options/flavour. I'd wager Darrock will probably be something resembling the old Witch Hunter warscroll, though probably with a bit more ranged kick (really what you want in a squishy character hunter), Emelda and Glaurio will be Freeguild Generals with unique command abilities, and the two wizardy types will be Battlemage equivalents with a unique spell or prayer each.
  19. Dare to recommend the most prolific non Rick Priestley WFB and 40k background writer of all time, and the guy who set the template for Black Library's house style? Ok ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜‰
  20. These guys, both on their own and as part of Start Collecting Greenskinz turn up pretty frequently for fairly reasonable prices on ebay, so keep your eyes peeled if you're not already.
  21. Looks pretty solid. I've seen Pistoliers used in units of 10 to great effect, and that's without being able to run and charge via Aetherguard Windrunners, so yeah, I'd drop the guard for two 10 strong units.
  22. GW scalecreep trends indicate that if a new aelf faction's released anytime soon they'll be at least nipple height to a Mega-Gargant, sorry
  23. Kemmler's already active in AoS, he's just had a Malerion style rebrand
