  1. I went through recently and bought a few things that I don't need right now, but I'd feel bad if they took them off sale. I've missed out on things before and especially when i see how much stuff goes for on ebay. Things like the Chaos Mammoth and Incarnates of magic go for crazy money. As I had part of a chaos dwarf army from back when they came out, I got enough infantry and warmachines to round that out to a full playable force, as well as a few of the monsters like the Dreadmaw that I've always liked, but never had a specific use for. On the plus side, FW stuff tends to hold it's value well in the second hand market, so almost can be seen as an investment?
  2. Looking at the previews, is there no faction rules for just a warriors and knights list?
  3. While it was always made clear it was a team effort, losing Alan Bligh really did hurt the project as a whole which has since really lost steam and genuinely caused a sad time, even if some of us had only spoken to him at the open days or read his work. On the topic of the announcement, the fact they linked this to FW, via referring to 30k, gives me hope we might see the other 3 books that were meant to follow Tamurkhan. It's such a long shot, but that style campaign book would give them chance to focus on a different part of the old word for each book, give existing armies new units (land ship, plague trolls/toads/ogres) and entire new factions (chaos dwarfs) One interesting thing would be how they will cope with going back to the old (and hard to copyright) names like Elves or Dwarfs for everything.
  4. They're not part of the usual Chaos clique, but they do worship a minor chaos god in Hashut. Black orcs were replaced by Ardboyz and I've not seen anything about hobgoblins since AoS came along, although the previewed underworlds wold riders do seem to have that flavor. If I get round to making some slaves that the dwarfs have experimented on, like the way they did with black orcs, I'd be using some of the beastmen rules for them in game.
  5. Thanks, eyes are pretty simple. Base with Averland Sunset, then Yriel yellow and then use bloodletter glaze as a wash around the eye.
  6. Skin Wolves Really enjoyed painting these up, great sculpts.
  7. My WIP pile has just gotten bigger. Just had an order arrive containing 20 Infernal guard, 20 Fireglaives, Iron Daemon, Dreadquake Mortar, Deathshrieker Launcher and 3 Skin Wolves. Never sure when FW make stuff go OOP, so I thought better get anything I might need in the future. Will be posting up some WIP of them all soon.
  8. Hearing the rumor kicked me up the backside into getting round to buying the last few bits to finish off my LoA force. It was only started when Tamurkhan first came out in 2011, so it's not taken me long at all...
  9. From: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/age_of_sigmar_base_sizes_en.pdf I think they meant 170x105mm and that might be a squeeze.
  10. Thanks! I have a Mierce version as well, which does for a bigger sculpt (although the head isn't the best looking on the one I went for), but he's dwarfed by the creature caster version. I'm sure with GW's modern production and sculpting, they'd be able to do a really nice Shaggoth as a large scale beast.
  11. A new army here, I've always loved the Dragon Ogor kit and so have started off with them and the amazing Creature Castor giant 3 down and 6 to go to complete the battalion and then i've got some plans for some background and a theme for expanding the army that I'll get written up.
  12. I've got a mostly finished Ironjawwz army and when I saw the preview for this combined book, I went out and bought a box of Savage boys. I'm just after some advice on the best way to assemble them. I was thinking the Arrowboys won't add too much with just one unit, so was leaning towards boys or morboys, but am open to suggestions. The big stabbas look like such a cool idea, but then i'd only have 16 boys for the unit? Would I be better keeping it a full unit of 20?
  13. Looking forward to it! As I'm just rounding out my Ironjawz, this gives me the chance to get some savage orcs to go with it.
  14. I've started collecting a few pieces of Orruk themed scenery and got the first painted up to match the pre-painted scenery and gaming mat I got from https://www.gamemat.eu/ This is from https://www.minimonsters.eu/ and I have few other pieces from there that I'm working on. Then I have also received some reinforcements for the army:
  15. The Legion of Azgorh has some amazing models, I've got some from way back and have been adding to them slowly, but there is always the risk that FW just stop selling them at any time. I love some of the beasts and again have to weigh up buying them before they might just go out of sale. I missed out on the Chaos Mammoth and Incarnate of Beasts and regret that. I do wish they produce a Tamurkhan style campaign book with some background for the Legion of Azgorh and maybe some new models to go with Shar’tor the Executioner.
  16. Still working on this force, latest addition is another megaboss, this time on a maw-krusha: With the rest: Oh and this guy snuck in Got a few more things coming soon
  17. As a huge fan of Forgeworld (I have way too much 30k resin already), i've also got some bits for AoS and looking forward to getting some more. Originally started as Chaos Dwarves back in the World that was from the Tamurkhan book. Would love to see FW do a AoS campaign book in the style of Tamurkhan (which was the first and last, but was planned to be first of four) Troops and warmachine have been re-based and have added the bull centaurs, plus have some other stuff WIP for them: For my new IronJawz I already have a couple of squiggly beasts from Ghur to go along with them:
  18. More additions to the force, including another Megaboss with Ironclad and the Amberglaive: As the force is from the Ghur, Realm of Beasts, I thought I better have a beast to go with them: I've got something to go on the Squiggoth, but it's not finished yet. All in just shy of 1500pts: I am new to trying to get the hang of getting the photos look consistent and crisp. Still more to come as stuff is on the WIP bench..
  19. Gore-gruntas up next. Still got a few skulls to do and yes the joints on the heads are really visible ><
  20. Thanks, coming from 30k I prefer my forces with a grittier look than a bright style. I get that the purple isn't to everyone's taste, but wanted something different from the usual reds or yellows. The skins was done following a guide I found on Youtube: As for the bases, I tried a few things before settling on the following Vary thickness of Armageddon Dust over the base, using some bits of cork board to add in a different height Add on some different splodges of Agrellan Earth Drybrush with Averland Sunset Wash with Seraphim Sepia Drybrush with Averland Sunset again Final drybrush with Terminatus Stone Larger bases I add some bits such as skulls or more cork to raise it up before the texture paint. As well as some using cocktail sticks painted as wooden stakes. I finish it off with the edge using a matt black (black 3.0) and some Highland tufts from The Army Painter.
  21. I've been lurking awhile on this forum and have got plenty of good advice and inspirattion from everyone else, so I thought I'd post up my latest force, a new Ironjawz force that I'm doing as being from Ghur, Realm of Beasts. It started with the Underworld warband I got and enjoyed painting them, so ended up using them as the start for a small Ironjaws army. So starting with the Ironskull's Boyz that kicked it all off I then completed two units of Brutes, firstly with choppas The second unit with gore-hackas, led by a boss (big boss when running Ironfist) kitbashed from the warchanter. The idea being that i'll expand these to a unit of 10 in the future. The spare brute body was then used to make a standard bearer, which if I ever play with them may get used as an allied warboss with great Waaagh! banner Currently led by a Megaboss on foot And all of them together I've got some other bits that i'm working on, but only want to post up painted stuff to keep my motivation going.
  22. I had the same thoughts with my Ardboyz and seeing that I already have the Underworld warband, i'm looking to convert of the blood bowl orcs to make a unit of 10 overall. Depending how that goes and with enough heads and weapons, I might try the same again to make it upto 20. I'll be posting photos once I get started
