  1. Currently Blood Knights are comparable with Chaos Knights. Having them perform worse would be quite unsatisfying
  2. Can we btw please appreaciate the fact that the new Blood Knights look a lot like Dragon Knights which were the communities go-to-proxies for Blood Knights for the last years?
  3. That whole 'Teclis raids Shyish to weaken Nagash' plot is actually quite important from narrative perspective, ending the current Soul Wars that were started by the Necroquake. Actually a lot happened in the Narrative, especially concidering all started with the Malign Portents Campaign: The Necroquake enabled the manifestation of Endless Spells We had Sancrosanct Chambers beeing dispatched to face the Attack by the Legions of Nagash The Nighthaunt manifestation became more present, with Lady Olynder as Mortarch The Idoneth Deepkin were forced more and more into the open The Bad Moon manifested more and more (Gloomspite Release). Some Goblins got into fights with Sylvaneth. In the aftermath of the Necroquake we had several Stormvaults beeing opened. Most important one under the Lake Lethliss which resulted in the release of Katakross from his prison, as well as Lady Olynder beeing the first who slew the Celestant Prime, showing that Sigmars chosen can be defeated. Khorne Bloodbound were able to summon Skull Altars and Judgement of Khorne as his rage about endless spells manifested in the realms Dwarfs had a wild party, talking about reunion and stuff. Waking up next day all hangover not remembering talking 'bout anything important. Archaon called best champions of chaos for some sort of Allpoints-Olympics. It´s what we call Warcry now. Skaven manifested more and more due to holes beeing dug between realms Ogors now attack united as Mawtribes, no longer strict seperation between Beastclaws and Gluttons. Are no big players yet. Breyherd attacks increased here and there, often with big Herdstones appearing. Kurnoth stirs under Wald. Also some Kurnothian are spotted in Beastgrave. Hedonites of Slaanesh became more and more active around the realms. Syl'Essque made himself a name in the meantime. Seraphon manifestations seem to make more sense now. They are confirmed Star-Magic-Lizzards. But they are also Flesh-and-Blood-Dinosaurs now. It´s weird, don´t ask further. Still no meaning in the overall narrative...like...they don´t care. Lizzard lifestyle I guess. Godrak united the Orruk-Clans and started a big Waaagh which also seems to include other destruction factions that run alongside. It´s said that he aims for Azyr. Nagash reinforced his war-efforts with the Ossiarch Bonereapers which were led once again in full strength with Katakross at helm. Katakross attacks the All-Points. Archaon was all way off, taking actually care of releasing Slaanesh. Archaons breaks the first chain and then heads back to end Katakross Assault. Teclis and his armies slowly show up on the stage. We learn more about them and their background Sons of Behemat pop up. Morathi went full bit*h-mode, released Slaanesh after taking a good ammount of souls from him and ascending into goodhood. Then she assauled Anvilgaard which is HarKuron now. Idoneth were also into this conspiracy for reasons I don´t get yet. Slaanesh has born something. Also, Sigvald is back. FUTURE: Teclis gathered an army to finally stop Nagash's attacks which may end in the End of the Soul Wars. Manfred and other Soulblight meddle with some Nurgle-Stuff. We don´t know yet if he will manage to maybe break loose from Nagash or not. This could be the End of Legions of Nagash. Rise of Belakor Kragnos appears after beeing trapped under a mountain.
  4. Do you guys think Black Knights will make a transition as well? I concider the risk of getting a SC! Box of Skeletton Horde and Maligiants which would net 10 Black Knights, a Coven, Manfred or Neferata, some Hosts that can be used as additional details as well as 10 Skelettons.
  5. The current sculpt build as a Zombie Dragon is a darn Meme. It's sp derpy and almost toonish it may be an Clan Eshin Skaven as well. Also, including a second, updated rider for the FEC Build is no issue at all.
  6. It'S btw hilarious how GW becomes more of Book-Workshop with each release I assume the renaming for 2021. AoS 3.0 will propably have Model-Optional-Rules so it is enough to get your weekly Battletome-Rerelease as well as as the White-Dwarf-Garnison, the upcoming monthly hardcover hobby tome with all important contents to play the game as well as some articles and lore
  7. Concidering GW only commissions Artworks with actual units, we can also assume Direwolfs (next to the Vampire Lord) and Zombie Dragons to receive new kits
  8. Artwortk looks quite Ghur-ish from the colors and the theme. Also the tribesman-look without the scent of chaos looks like GA:Destruction. The recent squat of Chaos Dwarfs released the design-space of centaurs for AoS again (GW typically does anything possible to keep factions quite distinct). This could be the first non-whfb-Carryover-themed Destuction Alligience. As for Soulblight: It looks like a simple rebranding and cleanup of Legions of Nagash with some model updates. They don´t reinvent the wheel but instead clean up the Legions as the release of other Death Factions made them quite obsolete. I like what they are doing. Btw, the Direwolf on the book cover may be a hint for more models incoming Edit: Btw, last time I´ve heard Kurnoth beeing mentioned was the Dark Harvest by Josh Reynolds. In it, Kurnoth is described as beeing in a state between dormand and awakening, with his cults increasing in power. He is mentioned to be in Ghyran, somewhere near of Greywater Fastness
  9. I had the chance for my first game since a long time I played against a Troggoth/Squig-Gloomspite list. Usually I play an Eurlbad with Husskard, 1x Beastriders, 2x4 Mournfangs, a Frostlord and a Thundertusk Beastrider with some basic artifacts and traits. This time I went for 2x2 Mournfangs with handweapons in the Eurlbad, the Frostlord, a Butcher, 6 Gluttons and an Ironblaster, all as Bloodgullet. The update to the list was awesome. The smaller mournfang units were way easier to handle and still did a good job on the charge. The Butcher with the Wizzard-Skin-Skirt was able to rock some spells, althrough the missing mawpot made it a little bit fickle to cast reliably. The ironblaster was a little disappointment as it didn´t do much during the game. We played for 2 turns, I was able to charge and kill a lot of his squigs including his Squig-mangler turn 1. His counterattack was a little bit unfocused and allowed me to kill some more troggoth including his hag. Game ended turn 2 because there wasn´t much gloomspite left. Especially turn 2 was dominated by awesome save rolls on my side and awfull ones on my buddies rolls.
  10. The issue for casual play power balance is that the difference between broken and useless is enormous and hard to see especially to casual players. By minor changes in listbuilding or even selection of factions, a quite hard rock-paper-scissors-effect occurs. People win as they favorite units are accidencially more powerfull than the enemies one. By simple faction selection a player can have a huge advantage over the others. Janky rules that can be easy outplayed on competetive level can dominate a whole casual meta as well. Concider many beginners also beeing tied to a certain list as they play often all models they own. In addition, in casual meta people tend to pick models they like or that follow a theme, which is wonderfull, but also can make the game experience more awfull. I had already many casual games that were decided due to listbuilding and rolling for the battleplan. Khorne Mortals against Bonereapers with a single ballista? Set up models, call it a good game and shake hands as your important stuff is faster dead than you can charge anyway. Ogors or Nurgle StD vs Coalescend Seraphon? Don´t even bother putting models on the table. It is even hard to balance out when both agree on a casual list. GW's lacking FAQ doesn´t improve this.
  11. I never got myself to use cultists, althrough I see some perks they bring. Thoose are all ultra-light units that have certain perks which make them quite usefull for several tasks (well, despite spire tyrants which are the worst and most useless ones). The snake ones for example seem reasonable for a cabalist list, beeing able to replenish some models over time. Also their mortal wounds come in handy. The ulgu corax guys are fast and are great as summoned unit to take some objectives in later turns. Untamed beasts are great to charge and contest some objectives in situations your opponent only had few models to tap on the objective. I don´t know much about the hysh and fire guys and what purpose they could serve.
  12. Nah, not AoS-y enough. It will be a giant mosquito lizzard with a tomb on it´s back and a ballista on it's tail. As for new factions: I sometimes wonder if some factions are "shallow" by design so people jump around more. Of whether it was a sole marketing experiment what sells more kits: Many small factions or few bigger ones. Althrough for this I wonder that we didn´t received more community feedback forms to fill. We have several teased factions by GW but I wonder how many of them will really be released. Kurnothi as well as Shadow-Aelves (which in my opinion differ from DoK aesthetics so it is quite clear they are supposed to be Malerion-Aelves) are both potential factions, althrough we should keep in mind both are Specialist Games ranges which could have been designed on their own, or beeing reused models from some pitch-meetings for new ranges. Keep in mind at GW HQ noone knows what the others are doing to prevent leaks. Rules writers receive finished lore and models and so on. Should GW decide to release more Aelves I would tend to rename the game into Age of Aelves btw. Cities of Sigmar are in a weird but yet interesting spot. They started as a lovechild of a ruleswriter who pitched an almost finished work product and provided an opportunity to sell more dated kits longer with only low invest (print 1 book). In the end, the sales numbers will decide whether GW will flesh them out into a solid faction with it´s own sculpts, or if they drop them together with the remaining old kits and call it a day. But even when GW should decide to keep the faction around, I don´t see many of the old kits staying for too long. It´s all a single business decision. I see ton's of design potential here to upgrade them to a more unique AOS-typical design. The cursed city miniatures are a good hint how this might look. As for other potential factions: Dwarfs reunited is a thing in the lore that is often requested but I would assume to see it beeing fed off as a alligience within a BrokenRealms book. It's more appealing to sell 3 tomes+BR (CoS, Fyreslayers and KO) instead of a single tome. Same pattern is why I wouldn´t expect the Belakor book beeing followed by a Daemons Tome. The current way the rules are split on 5 factions and by owning models of each of them you can be potentially lured to flesh each of them out ('huh, when I already own 1000k of Khorne Daemons I could buy that Bloodsecrator as well as some Wrathmongers').
  13. This would be neat for 3.0, that's right
  14. Running costs are quite openly announced at 5k GBP a year. We can even see the progress on how far donations go. I can fully understand that Ben don´t have the urge to pay from his private money so we might use his page for free. TGA is a neat community and by far one of the most positive around with a fair share of active and supportive community members.
  15. Dmg3 -2 Rend Profile would be the juiciest StD Weapon Profile I guess Some sort of "Sacrifice a Model, to X" rule to make the base less weird More Wounds Maybe some more bravery affecting rules? Would fit thematically. Best imaginable would be "Positive Bravery modifiers as well as rules that allow units to automatically pass bravery checks don´t apply within 12/18" of Belakor" whioh would make bravery bombs finally valid.
  16. Gosh this sculpt is sexy! My bets for the BR:Belakor Book: More refined Daemon Alligience Belakor new rules Belakor still in StD Belakor gets a "Sacrifice a Model to do stuff" rule to keep the base thematicaly less of an issue while beeing a StD unit
  17. Why mirror matches are no issue to me, I tend to avoid collecting factions I know beeing already played in my group
  18. That sounds...not fun But yeah, concidering it is a legacy army i shouldn't wonder
  19. Celestant Prime is in my opinion a very underplayed model. He does serious damage and has an autocharge in his rules, so he can always hit where it hurts most. Ballistas are quite common, although I never did much with them Evocators do serious damage in the army. Sequitors are insane Battleline
  20. I would rather expect that we receive 1-2 new sub-alligiences. New Marauders would be great, thats something I am expecting for a longer time concidering that the sculpts are so dated gw should have removed them with the tomes release. But what I really hope for is a cool Story-Ark. BR:Moriathi has shacken up the mortal realms with Morathis Ritual, Slaanesh's child and Har Kuron/ Anvilgaard. BR: Teclis meanwhile seems quite boring, especially compared to Wrath of the Everchosen which had a similar plot. Therefore I hope that Belakor has some real impact on the world. Let him kill Archaon, I would be fine with it. Reveal that during all the time in the shadows he gained controll over Malerion an absorbed/killed him in order to gain power for his own plans. Whatever, but make it impact the world more than "yeah, a battle"
  21. As the recent pages were all on the topic of models going OOP, I would like to ask some help for armybuildung. I concider to build a proxy/conversation heavy army of chaos dwarfs. Reading into the rules I see there is the option to build a wartrain or rather playing a mix together with bulls. But..what are your experiences? Is the army fun to play? What works? And is it fun playing against 2.0 tomes?
  22. Lyrior Uthralle and Horrek Venzai sound like 2 new named heroes for LRL and Death
