  1. Sadly you cannot take the lore of the dead in a Soulblight army, only Lore of the Vampires. As for the 20pts, pallisade is great but it's more than 20pts right? Do you mean Gravetide?
  2. Living City seems VERY powerful with l it's buffs combined with an incredible spell lore/ traits/ artefacts. The biggest boon to the cities is that anything in the book can be in any city (+ 1/4 Stormcast, + others depending on city) so you get a lot of flexibility. Really liking Hallowheart as it has the magical focus I desire!
  3. Scourgerunner chariots changed. Harpoon now deals D3 MW on an unmodified 6 to hit, sequence ends.
  4. 2x10 Knights is BRAVE. I use 3x5 and still struggle to get them all in striking range on terrain heavy (read: correct) boards!
  5. You guys do realize that a PHOENICIUM unit isn't just the high elf stuff? It's anything in the army...
  6. Phoeneccium preview is up. Add 1 to hit and to wound rolls of all PHOENICIUM units melee weapons for the rest of the phase if any PHOENICIUM units were destoryed this phase. Not bad and certainly has some tactical applications and will play with your opponents game plan however I think it's quite hard to apply.
  7. I mean, you can do a lot worse than a VL for a hero! Very interested to see how this fares as I've got a lot of vampire models and the endless spells 😂
  8. Taking the Vamps out later today against some Nurgle Mortals. I'll be running Necromantic as that's what I have experience with! 1500 pts so my list is: Vampire Lord on nightmare; saccarine goblet, pinions, mistform Vampire lord; winged, orb Coven Throne; vile transferrance 5 Blood Knights 5 Blood Knights 5 Blood Knights 3 Vargheists 4 Batswarms Pendulum I could double up a unit of BK to ten, but I think I'll need the board control of 3 units.
  9. We don't know the full extent of the Cities stuff yet, but it looks to be LARGE. Pure DC is a really cool army with some nice themes (unit synergy, ranks of infantry, immune to battleshock, strong casting) but it does at least feel like Cities will offer just too much extra to pass up, let alone adding in Shadow Warriors, Order Serpentis and Corsairs all usable in a combined force with shared rules. ...Plus you can always bring in other units as Count-as from the myriad of city stuff! But with DC having a set of rules in the GHB, it does make me wonder if they are destined for more somewhere down the line... OR if even they retain something akin to those abilities within a city list?!
  10. So i bought a BUNCH of undead to play Legions of Nagash but I think i'm more leaning to keep that to just Soulblight (and allies).. Bonereapers aren't doing to for me overall and I'm wondering if there are the beginnings of a custom Undead City? The Lore has mentions of the dead existing with harmony with the living in Shyish, so these could be dead loyal to Sigmar - maybe blessed to be protected from Nagash's influence. Plus "The Unliving City" is too good a name to pass up Thoughts?
  11. Looks almost similar to an up-gunned (read: more spikes) Fimir mace!
  12. Dawii going 7" turn one makes them a real threat. They have heavy armour anyway so will be shrugging off all but the hardiest opposition in turn one. Even something like an Empire General on Griffin is suuuuper beneficial with these rules, moving faster and getting some tankiness against ranged threats. I'm really ecited to see the Living City. They'll no doubt be updated a fair bit, maybe patch out the danger wyld woods pose to unit's from there? Or let them take one?!
  13. Seems the same as it was but +1" extra movement iirc? However no distinction for Flying units getting +4", so a mixed update. +1 Save roll remains the same. With Swifthawk gone though there aren't MANY units that can fly (outside of Stormcast/ Kharadron) so not a huge loss. Obviously the real kicker with these things will be the spells/ artefacts/ command traits/ how everything interacts with army building. A big factor though is HOW many rules wil leach city have? For example Anvilgard now has the Illicit Dealings rule previewed yesterday, but did it lose it's previous Implable March rule?
  14. Aye I think it'll be: Cities of Sigmar Generic abilities (retinues etc) Internal synergy with keywords on similar units Allegiance abilities for the specific cities Lots of BATTLELINE IF, but only in specific cities too (you probably won't have dark elves in the Phoenneccium for example).
  15. "What’s more, any endless spells you cast with a Cities of Sigmar wizard will immediately count as being empowered by their associated Realm, meaning your Purple Suns, Burning Heads and Suffocating Gravetides are even stronger than those used by other armies. " WOAH.

  17. I think that will be exactly what it is. Vampire lords on Zombie Dragons be sad... Where are THEIR traits?!
  18. I mean, lets not hope this is the extent of taking an Anvilgard army but merely one of the overall set of perks. SUPER hyped though as that's felxible and awesome.
  19. Sadly the Mortarch's are a touch overpriced IMO, though they do certainly give one thing to Soul Blight: Options. Each of them is a two cast Wizard with unique and powerful buffs. However I think Nef is more geared to letting your Heroes shine and Mannfred is all about buffing the troops. While Nef is in my list I plan to try (two Etheral Dragons say HELLO!) I think Mannfred certainly has his perks with a stellar aura and some mighty powerful attacks (easy to buff with his spells) and a non-degrading profile (where it matters) plus he's got some awesome internal synergy with Necromantic where he'll often have +2 to cast, thus activating his buffed sword, thus meaning he kills things to keep up the +2 to cast...! I actually wonder if there is an army build focusing on the two named Vamps, leaving the generic VLoZD at home?!
  20. How do Darkwalkers fare? Movement is important and redeploying / ambushing the chunkier beast units seems like it could be powerful, if anything just to make your opponent deal with that large monster 9.1" away. Could also be done with a unit of Chariots as they re-roll charges. The artefact is decent too, especially against castles of heroes stood on terrain for protection. Maybe good combo with Brass Despoilers for fighty or Pestulent Throng for more chances to mortal wound bomb and also reducing drops.
