Duke of Mousillon
@elfheadJust rules for now as far as i know and yes it is an annoyance with vague times. I would accept those "soon" things if it is a secret. For example if we dont know the whole Lumineth selection and they suddenly suprise us with 2 more units. I would take being so vague then but we know whats coming. There are no secrets anymore. For some people it would be just more comfortable to be able to plan their spendings ahead since we know how expensive this hobby can get. On another note. Am i still correct that we have to allocate wounds one after another? That if going by normal rules for example if a unit with 1 wound per model take 5 wounds you allocate 1 wound. Then remove the first model. Then allocate the second wound. Remove the second model. etc. Is that still how the rules work? I remember it like this since there were janky shield mechanics in other factions.
Schulzy
Not really sure whats going on with Eltharion not having the wizard keyword, I'm sure one of the many Warhammer Community articles mentioned him as a spell caster. Another minor annoyance with the range is, now that we have the full 3D images on the GW website for the Wardens, they all appear to have a sheathed sword on their backs, yet the warscroll only allows the unit champion to use a sword. Duke of Mousillon
@Schulzyit is just aethetics since a Pike formation needs swords. I love this little detail. You cant fight in a Pike formation without the sword backup. Pikes are horendously horrible weapons when out of formation. And now Eltharion is definetly not a caster as per warscroll and with him being named we also have no opportunity to make him a caster via artifacts if that possibility should exist in the book. Though that would be odd too since all our heroes allowed to bear artifacts. 2. that is 2 may i remind you. are level 1 wizards by default. Duke of Mousillon
That is hopefully only a problem in the German version. I dunno the real proces involved in creating these books but i can imagine that there was a rules change and warscroll overhaul for Eltharion but the German version forgot to edit him out of the spellist as already guessed by @LuminethMage
LuminethMage
Yeah, let's hope it's just a problem in the German version. We'll know in a while. I mean I wouldn't mind him being a caster, but for 220 points and all the other things he brings to the table, I just can't see it. Anyway, got my pre-order done, yay. Really happy. I totally agree though with everyone about the "soon" thing. I think GW does a lot of great things, also during the Covid 19, keeping people engaged etc., but this kind of weird dancing around about when new products will be available is really annoying. Probably they have some data that suggest it's the way to go to maximize sales, but still, it's a bummer. What does "not too long" mean? 1 month? 2? 4? Who knows? But for now I keep in my happy spot : )
Duke of Mousillon
I decided against preordering. I am still struggling if I wanna play them so i decided if i would need to wait for the actual release to at least play 1000 points then i can wait for it since no unit is exclusive.
LuminethMage
Sure, for me they just fit super well. Always been a fan of the magic side of High Elves, so this army is Basically custom made for me. I like Teclis, and all the additional things like the dice, cards, gauge etc. But if you are not looking to get those, no harm to wait until everything is out, before that you can’t do much anyway (besides painting).

Duke of Mousillon
That is sad. I mean balancing is another story but just typos and obviousloy wrong written rules is meh. That should not go through prove reading that easily.
fenriswolf2003
I pre-ordered. But I didn't get the art-cards because I was too slow
Sin_ozono
Is there any way to know if the battletome included in the localized boxes is the same lenght that in the english one? Thanks!
Duke of Mousillon
@Sin_ozono i dont know what you mean with "length" but if you refer to the content within the battletome then yes. Every battletome has the same content only in different languages.

Sleepers
Would love some feedback or thoughts on the lists I’ve made.. I would also love to see your Teclis lists, I’m struggling to fit him in. ive not decided on sub-faction per list yet, will probably swap and change as my mood dictates for each list. Im also not sold on the battalions even though they are easy to fill, they don’t seem to bring that much to the table when I could bring another unit instead. Only benefit is to reduce drops. List 1: Teclis 660 Cathaller 140 Eltharion 220 20 wardens 240 20 wardens 240 10 sentinels 140 10 sentinels 140 endless spells up to 100 points Auralan legion 120 List 2 Cathaller 140 Eltharion 220 Stone mage 130 Avalenor 360 20 wardens 240 20 wardens 240 10 sentinels 140 10 sentinels 140 Dawnriders 130 Dawnriders 130 Auralan legion 120 List 3 Cathaller 140 Eltharion 220 Stone mage 130 Avalenor 360 20 wardens 240 20 wardens 240 10 sentinels 140 10 sentinels 140 Stoneguard 100 Stoneguard 100 Auralan legion 120 Endless spells up to 70

E.g the recent Adepta Sororitas battletome had 112 pages in inglish, 80 in Spanish (It'ss cheaper tough). I'm not exactly sure whats missing but I think is mainly lore. Paul Buckler
Guys, Ben recorded a podcast last night, with some insights from the playtest team into RealmLords. Duke of Mousillon
@Sin_ozonowell i just looked at the battletomes since Ossiarch Bonereapers. Ossiarch had the same number of pages for Spanish and English. So did Mawtribes. But after that all Battletomes had less pages in it in the Spanish edition. Meaning Disciples of Tzeentch, Karadron Overlords and Lizardmen. I dont know what this is about. I mean GW does weird things sometimes but i coudnt imagine them cutting pages for a different language? You could maybe argue that spanish needs less words so it falls short a couple of pages with the same content in it but the Disciples book had 88 pages in Spanish but 120 in English. Thats more then just falling short a couple. I am afraid considering that trend that it will be the same for this book then? but I would really not know why it should have less pages. ArchaicArc
Thé pre-orders are gone already? Yikes! I was lucky enough to get mine and was surprised to see the free art cards in my order as I hadn’t expected them. cant speak for everybody, but I’m so on-board for this army. I like forces made up of regulars, and not named heroes or crazy elite warriors etc. So having a force made up of just spear men, archers and cavalry makes me happy, especially seeing how pretty these ones are. I like eltharion as a centre piece but can’t see myself using him too often. I know the current release is a little limited but it’s enough for me. If an expansion gets added down the road with some specialists that I like the aesthetic of (cow guard guys are alright but I’m not totally in love with the horns) and maybe a nameless combat general, GREAT. But I like what I see enough to be happy to be patient. 3

Tiberius501
Yeah each unit individually looks alright but not super, but they definitely seem like each unit shares the load and that together it’ll all unite to do quite a lot across the army. Interesting looking stuff. I was initially disappointed in the rules but after mulling it over And thinking on it I’m into it again.
PrimeElectrid
The Evocator warscroll states they can only cast Empower, but the Battletome states they can take a lore spell too and this was confirmed in FAQ so there is precedent. The only oddity is that Eltharion doesn’t have any rules saying he is a wizard on the scroll 🤷♂️ Edited June 20, 2020 by PrimeElectrid
