  1. Tzaangors got 2inch reach on all weapons now! Get ready for the 30-man-unit-Tzaangor adventures.
  2. Played a 2000 point game against Khorne. Was a blind match up. My list was Host Arcanum so that did nothing. Game was a slaughter because of dreadfully unlucky roles on my part but to be fair my list was too dependent on magic for fighting Khorne. Maybe a list Of Tzaangors or Flamers would do better. The spell safe every Khorne unit has that can get better over the game is already rough but the auto unbind map wide for 2 points is terrifying. Why is it map wide? Jesus. I can at least say -3 rend on 10 Tzaangors from Hoarfrost is literaly killing anything you throw them at. Maybe not morathi. But yes. Go Tzaangors.
  3. I am still wondering about foot Enlightened as utility. They could be cheap second lines for the frontline Tzaangors. They are so cheap, they have to be good at something. Though I heard that people have been using Cockatrice as allies to function as that second line, not necessarily for Tzaangors but generally speaking.
  4. Ai. That pains indeed. And I am almost done converting my first 10 Tzaangors. A tragedy. But at least tzaangors can still fight in this pseudo 2 rank line where you set them off a little. Should work if you only run a unit of 10.
  5. Tzaangors. I see a spell that gives -3 rend to the Tzaangors 33 Blade attacks and I say that that is not ok. Still only go with units of 10. Maybe Curseling? Depending on what wizards will be running around. He still will not beat the Elfs or Lizardmen but I suppose if I run no WizardChicken I run him. Even with the point cost cuts idk if generic wizardchickens are still not always overshadowed by Kairos. They are probably still overpriced for a two cast wizard? But 60 points might be enough to not always choose Kairos. The points cut on flamers and exalted flamers look more interesting to me then the wizardchicken ones.
  6. Fair enough I suppose. For those who have played Tzaangors. Do you bother with giving your unit champion a Greatblade? I am aware that paired blades are maximum damage for normal Tzaangors but as far as I can see the Savage Greatblade with the bonus attack from the champion theoretically outperforms giving him dual blades. But does it even matter really?
  7. Well any healing spell is obvious now is it but at least it works then i suppose. The thing is if your enemy is able to wipe the whole flamer unit they will do it if you have fold reality or not. Even if you do not bring fold reality your opponent will try to kill the 9 man flamer unit completely. Its not like they would decide to leave them be at 1-2 models just because you did not bring fold reality. Nevertheless I would be curious about that list if you still have it floating around.
  8. Do you think you can pull off smth with 9 man units of Screamers for Folding Reality on them? I really want to use fold reality but I am not sure what a 9 man unit of screamers could accomplishe appart from being a worse meatshield then pinks. I suppose at least a more mobile one at that. I suppose I could also use fold reality on a 9 man flamer unit but I do not have the miniatures to built that list really yet and I do not even know if that'd be more reasonable then doing it on screamers. 9 flamers are quite a bit more squishy then screamers. I'd probably have to invest in a gaunt summoner? Probably on Disc even? And only God knows if they are actually worth their points cost. I dont think so but might aswell be wrong.
  9. Did you also gather experience with foot enlightened or just the disc version? Maybe then our 20 melee weapon artifact will make sense at last.
  10. Oh yeah. He would not be great without his command traits. Definetly not. But if his heroic action ability with the spell would work in our army he would be able to cast Binding Damnation. So he would be interesting to put next to a 30 man Tzaangor unit. He gives out an immune to battleshock aura and would have a strike last spell. Would at least be interesting to try out in that case. Furthermore i just love Daemon Princes. Having one Daemon Prince in an army just feels so thematic.
  11. There is a reason why Krondspine showed up in every list. 5 Knights buffed and striking first would most likely reduce the Incarnates level by 1. Thats all they can do. I would probably agree that summoning that monster would be flavourful for a wizard faction but with the goal in mind to have a mortal side to our army list Krondspine does not help that effort.
  12. @RocketPropelledGrenade smth I could see is having cav from StD in tzeentch as a fast hitting unit? You take Knights. A Chaos Sorcerer on foot to buff them and a Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount to give them Strike first. That is something I could see myself playing around with that. Would be a reasonable alternative to using Enlgihtened on Disc. They would be a fast unit that does not explode. I would love to use a Tzeentch Daemon Prince but as long as he does not get his full heroic action I dont know about that. (Edit: In addition to the aesthetics of a daemon prince I would like to try out his battleshock immunity on large tzaangor blobs) I just do not see myself using Chaos Warriors. Maybe someday but right now if I want a slow tanky unit sitting on an objective? Pink Horrors. 30 points more but they fill a battleline slot.
  13. The most laughable thing is after us losing proper coalition rules and not giving us mortal tzeentch units in our book, they added insult to injury: The new daemon prince. The one you can get into your mono god armies over the coalition rules as marked. Who now gets his own command ability depending on his mark. Yeah. Tzeentch can theoretically take him. His tzeentch command ability inside of the tzeenrch army is borderline useless because it refers to a spell lore in the StD book and thus its part of allegiance abilities we are not allowed to use. Bloody shame.
  14. Anyone gotten around to try those Tzaangors with a second row of Enlightened behind to discourage charging them with the Enlightened ability of turning off commands?
  15. His warscroll spell is big damage and he gives an AoE +1 to cast to your other wizards as long as you gave them the Tzeentch Mark of Chaos. It is probably not the best choice. Allies are most times underwhelming. But i tjink Lord of Change is not flat out bad as an ally if you have other wizards to buff.
  16. They do not get access to spells. They are only with their warscroll spell plus generics. No spell lore allies. And no the StD endless spells have to be cast by StD wizards. Lord of Change does not count if I remember correct.
  17. But I would totally play that all tzeentch coloured scheme in StD. My initial thought before the new tzeentch tome was "If we do not finally get proper mortal tzeentch units i will just play StD. Every chaos god army has a proper mortal roster. We have to get one too". We did no get any mortal tzeentch units. Then i saw what they did to our boy the Tzeentch Chaos Mark in the new StD book. So I am debating if I will do it or not.
  18. Yes. Disciples of tzeentch is an ally option for StD. And Lord of Change is 400 points. So in a 2000 point game he would fit perfectly into the ally slot. Just remember my warning about the tzeentch mark rules wise.
  19. What? How do you come to thst specific number? And I am not sold on that idea. The rend should do a lot of work because it basically makes everything -2 rend. Remember we want the 10 Hailshot from an Ironblaster not just the 2 Cannonballs. Making the 10 hailshots and the leadbelcher shots -2 rend is big.
  20. Me too. I prayed for mortal tzeentch models but never got any. So coalition it is. Problem. They do not fill battleline slots anymore. And as my lists are right now, between battleline and Heroes I am often short on points already. Most interesting would be I guess the warshrine with the -1 to wound prayer? If you want to play an army that looks like Tzeentch from Total War, which I can respect because it looks awesome. Not like the sorry acolyte model. But if you wanna play that you should be playing Slaves to Darkness, paint your army in a tzeentch colour scheme and ally in 1 Lord of Change. And maybe do a tiny bit of conversion to make like the helmets look more tzeentchy or smth. The sad part about that option is they killed the tzeentch keyword for most units. Its basically only worth for wizards now. Which forces you to give at least one other unit the tzeentch keyword too. And even then I would not be 100% sold on having to make wizards tzeentch marked. The buff non-wizard units get from the tzeentch keyword looks sad compared to the other marks. I guess tzeentch has one good banner at least. So literally bringing an all tzeentch marked force in Slaves to darkness would probably feel bad to play but you can still make the colour scheme all tzeentch.
  21. I myself think about piloting smth like -Butcher -Firebelly -Frostlord on Stonehorn 4× -Ironblaster 3x - 4 Leadbelcher - Gorger Theoretically the Gorger is just left over points. Could I play Gnoblar instead? Yes. Will I ever desire playing Goblins in an Oger army? No. Could also change one leadbelcher to a Gluttons instead of adding the Gorger.
  22. Your thoughts on a single gorger? I really don't see gorgers doing much but maybe I am wrong.
  23. Well I am for one even more concerned about the Gaunt Summoner still not being a mortal but staying a demon. They removed the monster keywords from the heralds but are stoic about their mistake on making Gaunt a demon? Really? Yes I know. I still refer to it as a mistake and will keep doing so. He is leeding the mortal warscrolls in the book and not where demon heroes should be.
