  1. Yeah forgeworld has tumbled a fair bit from their peak these days, most of their models dont even really take advantage of the resin material, so they are just worse than a plastic version for more money And i bought a looot of stuff of them over the years.
  2. I mean, its entirely possible to have e-rules without a crappy app and subscription model, one of my biggest problems with the current app is it not running on PCs!
  3. The obvious difference being they had announced the 40k books in a road map that immediately got derailed, which I'm pretty sure immediately put them off doing more, again. The did cop to the maggotkin book being delayed post announcement too AFAIK. Which I guess is why the preview was completely devoid of any books for anyone.
  4. I mean the last few 40k codexes got delayed, apparently more than once in the case of Custodes and ended upcoming put in a clump presumably as they arrived but sure whatever helps you feel aggrieved
  5. Dwarf soup would be fine, Kharadons and Dispossessed sailing shiny and chrome. Just dont sully it with those Unbaraki who sully Grimnirs name.
  6. I mean, pretty obviously they leak stuff like this for some mix of self satisfaction and making folks happy* given thats it not the traditional other reasons for leaks IE Personal fame (Anonymous) and making changes (Books already printed) though i guess it might speed up faq answers slightly. Afaik the external playtesters all have day jobs of some description so its hardly a career ender Honestly though, i think a lot could be stopped by just having a coming soon section that just names the next three books for the main systems, no dates, no order, possibly even no other hints (But some hints would be nice!) so there is some idea out there already, lord knows the howling wastes of AoS future arent great right now and roadmaps are apparently a terrible idea with our current logistics mayhem, so aim for the middle ground? That said, as mentioned, the Eldar leaks are wiiiild. *Some will ofc never be happy but most can be, for a little while
  7. Ech, i really enjoy leaks myself. Gives me some Warhammer too oogle at and talk about for the whole week, not just a couple of hours on Friday, plus that one model gets a whole day or two to itself rather than overshadowing or getting lost in the pile. Someone is DEFINITELY getting fired over the Eldar leaks though, as they have been pouring out for months!
  8. Yeah they really suffer against the modern sculpts, but rest assured they looked really cool when they were new! Bait and switch is definitely my plan for Night runners at the mo, currently our PtG is at the 600pt stage though, so no Verminlord and i continue to hamper myself running pure Eshin despite PtG not actually needing battleline units lol Its fun though! I am looking forward to our PtG stuff actually, am hoping for limitless leader backstabbing and hopefully limitless replacement mook rats!
  9. Mine have the double distinction of being metal and, due to how i rebased em, slightly taller but if i was using the same models id probably go for different weapon looks, rusty for nightrunners, "clean" or possibly a green wash for gutter runners, dripping poison for deathmasters In my small pure Eshin lists so far ive found Gutter runners are about the only thing that actually does damage but they are soooo fragile!
  10. Malerion revealed to be a Chaos Dwarf, Silent people are a Skaven front for tax purposes, no actual Chaos Dwarves revealed. Idoneth and FS souped to get all the soulless models in one book
  11. Good to hear This hobby has certainly helped me through some dark times too. Made some great friends and when support couldn't always be there i could lose myself in a bit of modelling.
  12. Eshin really badly need the update, nearly all their models are from the 90's and they have net only lost unit options over time unlike the other clans
  13. The main reason they will keep OW and AoS separate officially would be licensing, same reason they stopped the kinda jokey Warhammer is in 40k and space marines in necromunda type stuff because a cheeky licensee can go beyond their mandate and thats not good for GWs bottom line. Its a big part of why LoTR is a slightly different scale/style too. So we might see an individual's Kislev style City of Sigmar army online but not an official heres how to make one in WD. (Some details may be wrong, not a lawyer)
  14. FW do have priors for going out of their way to avoid overlap with AoD in the past with vehicles and units that exist in 40k too so its not unprecedented but given the "failures" of previous resin fantasy lines im sure they wont be trying to repeat that on a large scale. Whole Resin armies work for marines because of the huge playerbase, bigger than everything else gw makes combined at times and it works with Imperial Guard because Guard collectors are odd and neglected by main GW Chaos Dwarves are a distant third, but the Empire and Chaos lines from FW apparently barely sold despite being awesome and got relatively quickly discontinued
  15. Lexicanum usually cites its sources so check there? Its not something i recognise.
  16. Its likely a playtester or GW themselves (Given how some of it has gone, id normally discount the idea that GW did their own leaks) so they may not even have AoS leaks
  17. There is a a fairly big difference between GW killing off support for a game and it actually dying though (Though arguably PP executed Warmahordes i dont think that was intentional...) as the former tends to still have substantial communities playing and supporting them, to the extent that it encourages GW to actually come back again (Lotr, BB and Necro being the big ones) while most other games just fade away despite their manufacturers efforts, never to be seen again until i sell them for pennies on ebay/fb. Historicals are different but then id argue historicals are a different hobby in many ways, like re-enactment and larp.
  18. My current PtG Warlord is a Deathmaster named (imaginatively) Noserenda known for his love of shiny things and lethal traps. He has yet to survive a battle Though i am sure he will have a long career ahead of him and definitely wont suffer a terrible accident when we go up to 1000pts and i can take a Verminlord (Side bar, the Skaven definitely need a mechanic for different warlords backstabbing and seizing command )
  19. Yeah complain about the product, not the team of a dozen or so people who typically do work on every book afaik, who do the best work they can under some sometimes weird and arbitrary outside forces. That and they have an odd bubble at HQ where they are suuuper rarely playing the same game as the rest of us.
  20. Hehe i did consider a null deploy eshin list for 600pt PtG but i think the points drop meant i couldnt spend all my points, damn cheap troops Just to check btw, the claw weapon for deathmasters is just pure jank without a magic weapon or something right?
  21. I spark dozens of ideas based on fluff and novels but the ones that get off the ground are always model based. Rules are essentially irrelevant in my middle age, if they are great or suck alike, they are still increasingly temporary.
  22. I...actually quite like this design, well, except the lantern axe, but he could almost pass for a real slayer priest.
  23. I do get the feeling we might see a Khornegor box with the Khorne book, if nothing else, to give the World Eaters some custom fodder.
