  1. Okay, let's see... Orcs&Goblins (my old 5E WHFB army, from memory) Orc warlord on boar Orc warlord (converted) Orc big boss Orc shaman Night goblin shaman 9 boar boyz (+unassembled musician I never bothered with, musicians were pretty worthless in 5e) 20 black orcs (plastic monopose with metal command) 23 orc boyz with spears and shields (plastic regiment) 29 night goblins with spears and shields (plastic regiment) Handful of other night goblins and boyz, most of which I was going to use for Mordheim but never did 3 night goblin fanatics (metal) Goblin wolf chariot 3 river trolls (metal) Manticore (came with some necromancer rider, but manticores were on the generic monster list any army could take back then) 4 monopose orc boyz and 4 monopose arrer boyz (first greenskin box I bought, first minis I painted) Brayherd 2 Beastlords (Avatars of War metal one, and unassembled GW resin one) Great bray shaman Ungor shaman (converted) 20 gors (+10 unassembled) 10 bestigors (+20 unassembled) 20 ungor raiders 3 bullgors Ghorgon Misc Silver Tower box 10 chaos warriors Lord of Chaos Lord of Slaanesh (converted from the Knight-Questor from Silver Tower) Mounted chaos sorcerer lord (conversion, still WIP) 1 converted marauder (+19 unassembled - the first one was a "proof of concept") 5 blood reavers High elf archmage High elf prince on griffon Dark elf executioners command group (metal) Dwarf runemaster 2 Empire battlemages 3 Stormcast Secrators 6 skinks (+6 unassembled) Apprentice wizard (metal, from recent Red Box Games kickstarter) 4 Tau fire warriors, 2 drones, 1 stealth suit (+6 unassembled FWs - my Rogue Stars team) Unassembled Start Collecting Beastclaw Raiders (conversions planned) Unassembled Doom Lords Bloodbowl team (for converting and/or cannibalising beastman bits) In addition to that, I have two Battlefleet Gothic fleets (~2500p Tau and 3000-3500p Slaanesh) and the minis from the Banner Saga Warbands boardgame. I think that's about it?
  2. Would be easy to offer, say, an alternate head and a staff. Even the easy build sequitors have an alternate head for the prime.
  3. I just remembered... my FLGS got an original copy of Gorbad a few months ago as a return. They might even still have it... Found it! Also discovered that the Lord-Arcanum on Dracoline apparently builds out of the mounted Evocator kit (weird - why not make him an alternate build of Solbright instead?) and finally found pictures of a Sequitor with a sword and an Evocator with a grandstave.
  4. Oh my lord this whole project is amazing.
  5. Hey-o! Been a while since I posted here. I have been meaning to take proper pictures of the Kairic Acolytes I finished a couple of weeks ago (and posted in the WIP Wednesday thread), but have been lazy (and busy painting minotaurs, see: my brayherd thread). Here they finally are! The shield is upside down, I know. I only realised after the plastic cement had dried. It's fine, none of the people I play Silver Tower with know what the Tzeentch symbol looks like! I am particularly happy with the colours on this one, the pink/purple and emerald green feathers together with the blue and gold looks really striking. These colours could be a great base for a whole army's colour scheme. Got some more green in on the bird! Another thing I've been tinkering with for a while, I finally finished assembling and priming yesterday. It's a Lord of Slaanesh conversion made from the Knight-Questor. (the lumps on his shield arm and around his neck are poster putty) Other kits that contributed pieces to this: Chaos Chariot (head), Chaos Knights (shield), Chaos Marauder Horsemen (belt buckle), Empire Battlemages (flaming sword), Gors (horns on the shoulderpad). Would love to hear some opinions on this! Finally, I've had an urge lately. An urge to paint Stormcast, specifically the new Sacrosanct models. I gave in yesterday and bought a pack of easy-build secrators to do some colour tests... but first, headswaps. Because I really don't like their masks. Heads contributed by the chaos warriors kit. This guy got the Knight-Questor's sword. I prefer swords to the mauls most of them wield, and supposedly the multipart kit will have swords, so I wanted to see how that would look. No need to headswap the prime, she looks great with the bareheaded option. I'll probably start painting them tonight! The main colours I have in mind are either gold or bronze armour, red cloth with some white to break it up, jade shields, weapons and pauldrons, but I have several options on how to paint each colour that I want to test on these guys.
  6. As an ex-O&G player, I can appreciate Grom and Gorbad, I just figured the TK stuff would attract more attention. ? Regarding the new releases though... I must say I'm not a fan of this new trend of building heroes from the same kit as regular units. It tends to make the heroes stand less out from the troops and leaves us with uneven unit sizes. I would much rather have them release the Knight-Incantor from Soul Wars in a blister pack, which I guess they won't do now...
  7. Lots of interesting stuff coming to preorder next week. Three boxes of each for SCE and Nighthaunt (interesting point: Knight Incantors can be built out of the Evocator multi-part kit apparently?), all the new getting started boxes including the two halves of the old core box and... oh what's this, Made to Order including two Tomb Kings heroes? This should make some people very happy.
  8. Love this in particular. Where's the crest you used from, if you don't mind me asking?
  9. This is true for Slaaneshi daemons, but the few mortal models we have (Hellstriders and a few character models) all have very ornate gear. Much more ornate than this, actually, the shape of the "blade" is quite crude I would say. Makes me think more of grots than Slaanesh or elves. I don't think it's a harp, either, the strings are slightly slanted rather than parallel. Regarding the Slaanesh narrative, I think the best option might be to keep Slaanesh imprisoned ("the chained god" is a nice trope), but the secret getting out. This would put his followers up against all the elven factions keeping him captive, trying to set their god free.
  10. Have they showed the Sequitors assembled with swords anywhere?
  11. I didn't dislike the tauralon as strongly as some posters here, but I do think it looks a lot better in this dark colour scheme. I gotta admit, the new Stormcast models are fantastic all around - and I say that as someone who usually dislikes Stormcast. I'm severely tempted to buy a box of Sequitors just to paint them (doesn't hurt that I already have a great idea for a unique colour scheme).
  12. Got a couple of WIP shots of my minotaurs for you. They're in the highlighting stage currently, also need to smooth the blending a little bit in some spots and do a little detail work before adding war paint and finishing the bases. I'm happy with how they're turning out for the most part, but I'm considering adding either Seraphim Sepia or Reikland Fleshshade to the musician's skin to warm up the tone a bit, what do you think?
  13. Are we pretending it's still Wednesday? Cool, here are a couple of lightly converted minotaurs I've been working on. Hands and axes not pictured, they're separate for chest access purposes. Got some more highlighting and detail work to do before applying war paint and finishing up the bases. Also need to smooth out the skin highlights on the standard bearer, the Tuskgor Fur is a little too stark in some areas.
  14. The more I think about it, the more convinced I become that the Mistweaver was an early concept for the Idoneth Deepkin. She was released with ST as a teaser, but they ended up going in a different direction with the faction and couldn't really include her any more so she's forever left without a faction. I'd be happy to be wrong on this, but it's my current personal theory.
  15. I've been away from this forum for a few weeks and don't really feel like reading through 40 pages of this thread to catch up... Have there been any major believable rumours lately? Would really appreciate a TL;DR summary if anyone's up for it! ?
  16. Thanks guys! I've been in a bit of a painting slump lately, getting feedback like this really helps! Think I'm mostly over the hill now, just need to finish some Acolytes for Silver Tower and then I can tackle the two converted minotaurs next!
  17. That was terribly disappointing. Still doesn't seem to be any reason to play Everchosen. Was hoping they'd just go ahead and merge these two factions, but that doesn't seem to be their plan. Maybe some warscroll changes (marks for Varanguard?) and point reductions will make them easier to use together?
  18. I must say, I really like these new mounts. Gorgeous models. Same goes for pretty much all the new Nighthaunt stuff, though that doesn't appeal to me personally as much as the liondrakethings (was never an undead kind of guy).
  19. I've never heard any of those. Maybe it's just your group...?
  20. I mean, it's not like we know the actual name of the things yet, and we needed some way to refer to them? It's like how people have been referring to "wizcast" for the past couple of months, because we didn't know they were of the Sacrosanct Chamber until today, and how Idoneth Deepkin were known as "Cthulhu elves" until they were revealed officially. People stop using the made up names once the official ones are revealed.
  21. I don't think anyone else caught that, well spotted!
  22. Another batch of ungors ready! I timed myself while painting them, came out to about 12 hours in total. A better shot of the banner. I kind of realise now that I see the pictures that maybe I should have painted the blue all the way up to the skulls, so that it looks like the pattern also exists behind them... hmm, might go back and fix that actually. The bottom half is intentionally skewed a little bit, since the banner was apparently torn and sewn back together. All ten ungors together!
  23. Quick question regarding the Made to Order stuff... I just ordered the two cold one riders, and the delivery estimate was that they'd be dispatched within 35 days! Does anyone know how wide a margin they're giving there? Is there a chance it'll be dispatched in say, two weeks, since I'm ordering on the first day of the MtO, or is it pretty much guaranteed to not land until mid June? Asking because I ordered it to a London-based friend's address and he's coming to visit at the end of the month, hoping it can reach him in time.
