  1. @PlayerJ I like it, but command entourage needs 3 heroes, so no battle regiment for Gorslav and most units. edit: nevermind, just saw that battalions were listed below… I like it, but unsure if you need that many wolves from the start with the abilities to bring extra.
  2. I still struggle to grasp why the writers set 10 hoppers as baseline, but stick to 5 boingrots … the whole box size argument is dead in this case and hoppers in 5s was much easier in list building and usage on the table. Especially with the smaller size and more enforced terrain.
  3. I get why everyone is hyped for BKs, but I look for something different. I consider this Vyrkos list: No Mortarchs, no blood knights, yet maxed out the heroes, especially double necromancer for their great lore and vanhels redundancy. gets me a double warlord battalion, too. To make good use of Vyrkos' re-rolls, I took as many wizards as I could fit and added Chronomatic Cogs. Soulsnare Shackles as tool of area denial and method to only get the fights I want. Fells Bats for Anti-Unleash Hell. Corpse Cart would be nice, but dunno how to get it in. Vampire Lord and Necromancers' job is to keep the two blobs going. Radukar and Granny play with the wolves, go kill stuff. Ofc I hope to add lots of wolves. I kinda count on the magic getting a few wounds in, otherwise the beast and Vengorian just have to be on a roll. Endless Spells could be swapped for 20 Zombies and the Ulfenkarnian Phylactery could be changed for an Arcane Tome and go to a Necromancer or the Vengorian. Looking forward to your thoughts. 4. You sir, are an angel. Also: i came to the same conclusion regarding belladamma. That stuff is fun!
  5. With the GHB 2021 Radukar the Wolf is an extra hero, so you can replace him with the Beast. Then you take 20 skeletons instead of 30 and 2x 20 Zombies instead of Wolves and just summon the wolves to the table with the CA. rest as you had put it.
  6. just saw this online via facehammer. might get them out again!
  7. while I understand where you are coming from, we yet have to see the point changes in comparison with other armies. I had rather hoped for GSG to become more viable, off, so rather keep point increase low. but this is something to be analyzed, since everything went up really. A good point of reference might be the LBoMS going up 30 pts. edit: Yndrasta might be a popular/unpopular comparison, but obviously an unfair example for she is pointed for poster girl reasons.
  8. squig herds minimum size 12 makes sense, but hoppers were a bit easier to move around in the old size of 5 for the boingboingboing ability, especially with a tighter table. cannot comment on pts changes, obviously hard to compare at this point.
  9. @Nezzhil sorry, my bad. the answer to all list building questions should be: add a loonboss on a mangler and an extra mangler. regarding squig lists: it would be crazy if our Battelines remained 5 herds or 5 jumpers. One does not want more than 5 light cavalry in one unit anyways given more terrain and less table space. Yet poor squiggies cost two reinforcements... for what?!
  10. Isn’t that Five reinforcements? double plus single for stabbas and single reinforcements for boingrots and troggoths...
  11. Why matches play? Just play ‘open’ and leave out the new army building constraints.
  12. Also, mildly interesting, your list works with the new rule on maxing unit size: you have exactly four reinforcements!
  13. @Elmir Fantastic stuff! I especially like the zombies and the skeletons. You mentioned that you paint contrast over a greyscale. Could you elaborate on that, please? Rattlecan or airbrush? What spectrum of tones (or even colors) do you use for this? Do you do extra highlights, before layering the (probably thinned down) contrast colors on top?
  14. With the latest white Dwarf rule set you choose to bring back squigs instead of grots. So a mix Would take away some opportunities to reanimate wounds. unless you have a very specific idea for either a unit of grots or squigs you might be better of with either or for both typical armies are rather different.
  15. Ambush is great and all, but with that base size it is not that easy to get it in there and then if my math is correct it is just so weak compared to the mangler squigs.
  16. Depending on how much you enjoy painting consider the detail level of the Model Range as well as size of the minis and number of Models in a usual army. It sucks to have an army you could enjoy playing, but hate to paint for one reason or another.
  17. ‚Fantasy perfection’ is something that Is changed quite a bit in the last years. Mattel‘s barbies are not realistic, but things got toned down quite a bit. Superhumans are shown to be less and less super is the last years In cinema. In my opinion this is not only a challenge for more diversity, but something closer to reality, with more greys and way more interesting narratives. But then again some people prefer the perfect unscratched gold and silver supermen over the shells of Warriors made supernatural And being reforged again and again. Tastes are different of course, I enjoy The 30k grimdark over 40k for example and I would applaud GW for evolving Warhammer and explore various possible narratives. Fierce female goblins and all.
  18. Where is all that hate coming from? At least act as if you reply to my post. My argument ist’s clear, but let me rephrase it for you: large breast are not a main feature of a female warrior. Equivalent would be Exaggerated large ball bowls between the legs. why do you want to push people away? I collect vanguard, so there is a female heroin, but no female Line soldiers. Would be rather nice to have in my opinion. edit: dear mods, I am very sorry for the multiple posts. An issue with my mobile. Please delete earlier posts.
  19. Female physical prowess of a female warrior emphasized with big boob plate? Common man! Big b00b5 may signal a different kind of prowess that is connected to a form of bio-politics that has to hammer every Boy into the shape of a Demi-god warrior for he won‘t ever be able to feed children with his abs (big or small), like Sparta for example. If Spartans has the ability to create warriors the way Sigmar Does it Double-d breast plate would never have been a factor for their society. No need for large breast plates then... only ‚male‘ and ‚female‘ warriors and everything in between.
  20. Maybe my read of the warscroll is too limiting, but to me it looks like there are 0 casts remaining. the warscroll says: ‚A Wizard on a Balewind Vortex can attempt to cast an additional spell in each of their hero phases...‘ ‚an additional spell‘ Alone would mean you could create an additional spell with the method you describe. But it says this happens per ‚each‘ of your hero phases. This is the limiter. It does not say ‚per set-up bale wind vortex‘.
  21. Kitbash for more variety among the Squig hoppers: they are just juiced up herders really...
  22. still working on a pure squig-list with a little bit of help from the magic friends. won't have a game anytime soon though, will have to bring up some numbers. thoughts? 23. The double madcap looks sure looks unusual. The answer to your question is connected to the issue of having no real counters or any defense really for the heroes. The Manglers are damage dealers, but also a carnifex distraction, the squigs are unbuffed and with the new rules make more sense in an offense is your best defense approach, as long as you go squigs-only. In a grot list you would have spore-fanatics as defense+buff, buffing snufflers, stabbers as block, loon-fanatics as counter-chargers. You can put them all in a squig list to keep the squishy wizards alive ofc. With the double madcap I buy a hand of gork backup and through forward the herds for example, unbind, etc. it is just one extra wizard instead of investing in a (mostly) defensive unit. But I am far from an expert. probably a mixed approach with the jumper battalion alone is the better approach.
  24. these are nice with smaller models, you can fit a few on a 25 mm base with a squig from the herds. often mushrooms are way too big to go on their small bases. then there are also these large ones that are similarly designed like the ones on the loon boss on a giant cave squid model. they are between 11 and 25 mm. maxmini.eu had some fun mushrooms models, but that company is out of business sadly. maybe you can still find these on ebay or you use them as inspiration to green stuff mushrooms it is not hard, but i am too lazy for that really so I won't split ways with my last set of these. edit: I just bought these (below) and received them within 24h (via nanostrategie, also based in Germany). sculpts are wonderful, the are also small (like the mushrooms from tabletop-art, but due to the built-in base are not such an easy addition to an otherwise finished base. If you just started the project, they are a great starting point together with a few cork-bits or something. I will use a mix of everything via the various units anyway ging on from here. edit 2: also I have ordered these mushrooms… no idea how big they are, but while they look detailed and well sculpted the large bar of resin makes them look more on the smallish side. I assume most are below 15 mm. edit 3: I'll be happy to do a comparison, if that is helpful to anyone here.
  25. so... the JoM keyword is a free addition that gives us the movement re-roll from the SRJ aka no need for it (+140 pts) it also enforces the use of the new command trait and artifact (as a first selection at least) which is not too bad, because the the command trait can be used to enhance the chance to fail battleshock tests with suicidal squid herds that also double their damage with the new battalion (-140 pts), but is helpful with more regular use like ALL THE TIME (at least when away from the shrine ofc ), okay no herds in the moon jumper stampede, sorry, no extra fun for you! You cannot fail deliberately, well, the rules departments missed out big time here the command ability favors 'circling' through manglers, which is nice, because the battalions' 0–x manglers finally make some sense at least. the super-battalion ability is not super strong, but also it is rather flexible and only enforces one regular mangler. you do not have to take at least 40 grots to finally enjoy the loon shrine! quite interesting! edit 1: you could run the super-battalion bare-bone for as little as … 110+90+90+240+140+90=760 edit 2: sadly, I had to correct myself edit 3: list idea. went rather pure plus quite some shamans. I think this could be better with sporesplatta screen + stabbas. thoughts?
