  1. That's essentially my last 1000 point list, except I only had 20 Clanrats, 1 Warpfire Thrower team, different weapons on the Stormfiends (gotta work with whatcha got) and a Doomwheel. My Acolytes and Warpfire Thrower did nothing except die and the rest of the army killed 1000 points of Slaaneshi daemons, whilst almost dying to the last rat at the same time. Make of that what you will.
  2. Hold on, hold on, what rumoured Everchosen stuff?
  3. @MaypleI'm gonna have to get some more from you on splitting the Acolytes up. In my experience they don't achieve much and die easily in units of 5, can you expand?
  4. Yargh! That there be a fine model ye've got yerself!
  5. Well you'll need either another unit of Stormfriends or a unit of Acolytes to meet Battleline requirements first I suppose. Assuming Stormfriends, that gets you to 800 points, leaving you a mighty 200 points (assuming we're talking about a 1000 point game). You need some bodies, as otherwise this is a nine model army, so we could ally in 20 Clanrats with 80 points left for another weapons team, or 40 Clanrats to bring us to a nice round 1k. I can't in good conscience recommend Acolytes given that the models are, as I have exasperatedly noted on several occasions, €10 each, which is aggravating when they're the only possible unit in the army that can use one of its allegiance abilities! However, if you fancy converting your own, they may be a handy alternative to Stormfriends. My access to Acolytes has just improved immensely with the realisation that the Warp Lightning Cannon comes with not one, not two, but three of the gasmask heads! ?
  6. You make a good point about where to utilise your own heavy hitters- depending on which enemy you're facing, using your mighty Stormfriends to mow down a horde of bubblewrapping Namarti Thralls while the Morsarr Guard murder everything else would be a waste of your elite cuddly bois. I find it hard to want to use Ratling Guns- the dream is all Warpfire Throwers, all the time, but without conversions this is expensive (even with conversions, it's tricky). As comfortable as we ought to be playing dirty and seizing every advantage we can get, I would be leery of claiming the warpstone token doubles the damage for the rest of the game. The other uses are limited to one particular action, so I doubt it's intended to be used as postulated, but I could easily be wrong!
  7. Oh! Just remembered my favourite bit- the anecdote about playing the guy who used paper cutouts for models, who had put a Skaven wizard in a scenery feature. "...and he's just got a f**kin' rat, with a staff, on a toilet!!!" ? Oh, and, "various mustards" cracked me up again on the second time round.
  8. Very interesting Morathi post, @swarmofseals, thanks for writing it.
  9. Has anyone used the Mierce Miniatures Krokodar models as Kroxigor? They look sooooooo much better, much more like the redesign Kroxigor got in Total War: Warhammer 2...
  10. Of all six options, poison wind launchers are absolutely the least popular, and unless you really like the design of them (in which case no reasonable person will fault you), I doubt you will find anyone who recommends them. There seems to be a bit of debate about shock gauntlets vs doomflayers but I think generally shock gauntlets are preferred. Warp grinder fists are very useful utility-wise if you want to get your Stormfriends where they need to be, and are fine enough in combat on top of that. When it comes to ratling guns vs warpfire throwers, personally I like the warpfire throwers better, though it depends what you're fighting. Ratling guns are better vs hordes, while the (almost) guaranteed damage of the warpfire throwers will get that irritating monster off the board, quick-fast! I don't think anyone really enjoys being mortal wounded to death though, so bear that in mind when it comes to making friends and influencing people. By all means give it a shot in one game (I'm going to) and see how it goes, but you don't wanna be That Guy!
  11. I lost it at the whole, 'Germans in the Mortal Realms' bit.
  12. Unfortunately there's nothing in there that clarifies this situation, as @rokapoke wondered.
  13. The way I'm reading the FAQ, Ripperdactyls can indeed do infinity hits- Kroak's "cast three spells" thing on his warscroll is used as an example of a warscroll overriding the core rules, so presumably Ripperdactyls are the same?
  14. Agreed on the heads of the two new mounts. They're... repulsive.
  15. By Sigmar that is an incredible-looking model. God dammit GW, my wallet can't take this much sustained assault!
  16. I feel like I can personally relate to Kirgo and his procrastination/'buying new stuff before he's finished the old stuff' habits
  17. A cool 40 points left over for an endless spell for your Arch Warlock into the bargain!
  18. Kept me sane through some insomnia last night!
  19. I would be willing to put a small amount of money on either the Idoneth or Daughters being one of the Battleforces.
  20. I'm no hero. People call me a hero, but personally I don't say that about myself. Brilliant Skaven 101 post!
