My first Matorean Knight Excelsior Chamber hero. This model is the one that put the Stormcast hooks into me. Loved the model and the fluff. Very much the same way the 40K Librarian started my whole 40k adventure. I still need to touch him up and base him but I am very happy to see him battleworthy. Next up is the Lord Arcanum.

Well, here we go. 1st model in a year and 4 months. I haven’t got to my basing materials yet (not that that helps much regardless) This character fluff and model were my first inspiration to AoS and I decided come hell or high water, I would have this model and he would herald the new Stormcast army. He’s supposed to be in Knights Excelsior colours although I couldn’t find an example to paint from. The first of the Matorean Knights Excelsior Chamber. Next up the lord Arcanum.

So I’ve dragged out the Cities of Sigmar Greywater Fastness army 2430 pts. I figured with Stormcast like the Knights Exclesior sharing their city, there are no shades of grey so a Sigmar dedicated army would fit there judging eyes. I only have to convert the steamtank with commander to a more dedicated look. As the Matorean Chamber grows, they will augment their army with worthy cannon fodder with these fanatics. I really cheaped out on the basing for most of this army so now I have to go thru the horrible job of redoing them. Protagonist- Stormcast antagonist - Gloomspite 😺 The old night gobbo’s have come out. I used to have 20 spider riders and 4 boss spiders but seem to have lost 1/2 in the move. 2 old squig herd to be converted and 2 units of hoppers to be converted plus some rokguts and an old giant. I rounded up 40 scuttled which I will use as shootas. The Looncurse box will fill out the bounders another herd and the boss on the giant squig . Plus an old shaman. These guys should annoy my Stormcast. My missing spiders. 😹

Unfortunately it’s a rental so I will not be upgrading the walls. We’re only here for 3 years otherwise I would put in the effort. I might have to do something with it as it’s pretty bleak 😺

Finally after a year and 4 months, the stars have aligned and I have a place to paint again. I tribute this thread to my last burst of painting and hope to do the same. As the fledgling Stormcast I’ve been collecting Are ligning up, I will start with the one who inspired my Knights Exclesior chamber. The Lord Relictor. The only difference will be orange tassels instead of red to suit the Matorean colour scheme. Extended goals will be the Lord Exorcist, Lord Aquilor, Lord Arcanum

Cause I like them 3 Liberators x 5 1 castigators x 5 The Looncurse will fill out my gloomspite and add a few allies from the woods near the city. Krasbog’s Gitz are most of my old night gobbo’s repurposed plus the looncurse will give me a gobbo army of 2480 points Shivertooth’s HeadBangers are my old ork army repurposed to the big waagh. 2480 points of green hell to be unleashed And the Matorean Disciples of Sigmar my Greywater Fastness City of 2430 points of zealots, hellblasters and steam tanks These army’s are made up of what I want legally but will never play in a tournament. They are totally fluff inspired and thanks to AoS, I can actually field them as real armies. I think my playing games with other gamersis over for now anyways. I’ll put up a pic of my zealot tank as well. Have another one that needs to be brought over to proper colours with a commander.

This is my second round with AoS and also my first AoS blog. I hope I can match the greatness that exists here. Not that I wanted to stop but my hobby adventures came to an abrupt halt a year and a few months ago. Im starting with the continuation of my idea of a state called Matorea in Ghyran. The realease of CoS has allowed me to expand the idea to a proper Greywater Fastness affiliated city state and surrounding areas. A Stormcast chamber will be present as well. A start in the right direction I hope. So we will start with a new hobby area and the first addition is the work table. Hopefully to be followed quickly by a set of shelving. 2 tables as well if I can get there.

This probably has been seen to but I’m looking for the place where you can find out what units become Battleline when you have certain leaders or allegiance’s. quick examples - where does it say steam tanks become Battleline for a steam tank with commander or flaggelant’s are Battleline with greywater fastness or whatever. I thought maybe the warscroll would say if this is the general, these become Battleline etc. hopefully this isn’t to embarrassingly obvious to everyone but me lol

Matorea The peninsula of Matorea is located in the northwest area of the realm of Ghyran . It is a large area and filled with a diverse population of duardin, aelf kin and humans. A city state formed around a realm gate that leads to Hyshon the southern point of the peninsula. It’s become an affluent port and important enough to have a chamber of Knights Exclesior permanently stationed to coordinate defence and expansion. The city-state loves its powder weapons and holds a Graywater Fastness affiliation. In and under any paradise, there are things that don’t want you to live and prosper. That despise any grip or rationality that you can master over your domain. Greenskins in unwavering numbers, gitz and squigs galore, skaven and beastmen to reek havoc cause they can, and of course, when you think walls can always keep them out, there’s Tzeentch to change the game plan. Against this is the Matorean League. Aelves, duardin, humans and Stormcast in an effort against the ceaseless desire to destroy. This is the backdrop for my AoS world. The Matorean world was borrowed from the Border Princes land from WFB. All the above armies exist in AoS style except the tzeentch. I will add maw tribes and the new Aelven from Hysh as it goes on. Havnt has time to read through enough. I have a quick question. The anew azyr does not have heralds in the leader list anymore. have they been done away with?

I have been unable to paint, play or assemble stuff for the last year and 3 months. That will change. I now have a place to set up everything I need and will get back to josh’s paint thread. I’m not a competitive player at all although I’ve done the tourney scene with wfb. Loved it. Lost more games than I can remember but I’m sure of one thing. I didn’t win and 1st,2nd3rd place at all. 2017-18 I converted lots of my old armies. 2019 I collected SC, looncurse so that is what I’ll concentrate on. Convert a CoS army as well. on the horizon, maw tribes and Tzeentch. I tried to handle a few game systems (lots 40k) but will now be handling AoS completely. The new 40k looks awesome but another system is just out of reach so I’m not even gonna try. We will see what happens 😸

A big regret in my hobby buying was to not buy the tuetogens and the mighty empires when they were available. I have 1 hex of the mighty empire that came with white dwarf I think. ....,sorrow......

I’ve been in the warhammer hobby for almost 15 years. Started with wfb and then included 40k. Took a hiatus for a few years gamewise (not bookwise) and jumped back fully in with AoS (2016 about). I tried very briefly to read up on KoW and 9th age ( and had no feeling for them) and gave up completely on 8th Ed fantasy only because I found out I only like a system that is supported. I now find I have barely enough time for 1 system ( AoS) and have given up trying to work back into 40k (black library aside). While I love the old world, I also love the Mortal Realms and will stick with this only. I just don’t have time to worry about a new system. I’ll see when I get there. In the meantime, I have to deal with the Gloomspite, Stormcast and as yet only an idea - Mawtribe. Years at the rate I go by. 😸

I just updated the azyr app and greenskins are included in the warclans faction. Not sure for the long run but very happy at the moment 😺

Never mind. Update came last night. All is well with the world again. Wrong thread anyways. Meant to be in CoS discussion lol

Just adding to above. I have all the updated warscrolls now but in the army list area the app still shows the old factions and nothing for CoS. I’ve updated as much as I can but can’t find the Cities faction. Is there still another upgrade to come? sorry to be a pain but tech and me don’t go well together most of the time lol

I can’t believe it!!!! This series finally mentioned. I read the entire series 10000 or so pages and loved it completely. Way off topic, sorry for this but you can’t let something like this go by and not mention it 😸

As most games I play are home games, this is a positive way to look at this. Most of my unhappiness at loosing the greenskins and high elf/ warrior priests is disappearing. Thanks for this post and not sure why I was getting so down.

That is a bit crazy. In the 14 years of war hammer life, the warrior priest then excelsior warpriest where my all time favourite models/fluff. When the warpriest came out, I though brilliant transition. I felt good that that would survive. I have to say, I am sorry of this oversite. A real downer. I do hold out hope it will come back.
