  1. Would you like to tell your ideas behind that list? Like your idea! Not that I do think it´s the most competetive list ever, but I was about to start an all deepstrike army (Grand Alliance Order) shortly before 3rd edition were released (it´s not possible any mor due to the fact that there is no Grand Alliance Allegiance any longer). And now I can execute that evil plan in Maggotkin of Nurgle – didn´t even notice before your post.
  2. IMO the best chaff unit you can get is a Chaos Warhounds. 10 for 80 points is a steal! They are fast, provide big bases and auto run 6". Really, they are great! LoAffkictions always was one of the best units in faction. Fast and able to use as a summon rod. Good attacks too. I think that we NEED low drops because of our slow movement. Nothing is worse that being pinned in our deployment zone / half of the board first turn.
  3. You can also get a more diverse army by using the SC Nurgle Daemons in tandem with a start collecting Maggotkin (if you can still get one) and/or one of the new Nurgle Vanguard boxed sets. —----------- From what I heard so far, things I like about the new book: 1) Really it's the first time my model collection becomes more expensive points wise. 2) similar to 1) my beloved army is now an elite force, something I wanted to possess for years. 3) GUOs and other big guys are way more offensive, meaning there is a chance to at least do some damage. 4) maggot lords seem to be playable now. 5) There is at least a chance to play the magic game right now. That's about it. Everything else is a bummer for me. A) why coalition units if they can't benefit from the armies special rules? Big bummer here for long time model collectors. B) Speed4 really? C) Low model count always has been the Bane of my Nurgle existence. Can't see how to win the objective game right now. D) That 5+ ward seems to be part of the allegiance abilities and not part of the war scrolls, meaning my Plague bearers are no more suited for the Legion of the First Prince. WAIT! There is still that 5+ ward command trait in LotfP, isn't it? Nevertheless I can't wait to get my copy of the book and play some games.
  4. Well, the preview vid "this week in warhammer" or what it is called shows the table of contents: So every single unit entry is well known. It´s rather interesting that Lord of Afflictions as well as the Maggot Lords all fill a whole page with their warscrolls which is not mandatory with the recent scrolls. Does it mean we will see enhanced rules? Oh, and 3 pages for battle traits?!?
  5. Hi, warscroll builder tells me that Blissbarb Archers are part of the Legion of the Forst Prince. Is that right? Do they have the Demon keyword? Can´t really believe that...
  6. Thanks! What a great deal. Love that model and just recently started Kruleboyz.
  7. How can you play a Rogue Idol in Kruleboyz Allegiance? The official rules sheet from FW does not include the KRUELBOYZ keyword, therefore your army is not Allegiance Kruleboyz. What do I overlook here?
  8. Can´t see this happen. The reason for those SCE units is – IMO – the fact taht the boxed set offers 2 models and when you build one as a hero, the other one is (was to be precise) wasted. Varanguard build a full unit out of the box with no models unused – therefore it is a differnt case.
  9. None. Have a look at the recent FAQ for core rules, second last page, right column, near the bottom: every roll that prevents a wound is a ward and only one ward can be rolled per caused wound.
  10. Hi all, can I get a short overview of Slaanesh armies these days? 1. What about the shooty aspect of Slaanesh – any good? 2. What are the base tactics with Slaanesh? 3. What are the commonly seen models / units and why? Thanks in advance! HTG
  11. Is there a big difference between Libs with hammers and Libs with swords? I much more prefer the sword bearing ones due to modelling reasons.
  12. the 2x Liberators; 1x Vindictors as battleline is based on tight points, isn´t it? Or is there any advantage of using Liberators instead of Vindictors?
  13. I hope that they manage to run it that way: horde style = (lesser) daemons, ie Plaguebearers and Nurglings (especially Nurglings need a role in that army) elite style = mortals. I do not want more models / units that bear paper-weapons. I like to get some hard hitters. Make them ressilient and hard hitting and I´d love them.
  14. Hi all, anyone ever thought about the inclusion of a Chimera in Khorne forces? It gains the KHORNE Keyword (coalition rules), has plenty of attacks (Bloodsecrator), a good shooting attack and is well maneuverable. Or is a Bloodthirster just overall better?
  15. I´d say you should have a look on Fleshhounds which are now battleline, in fact these are the least expensive battleline you can bring. In addition due to their large bases they´re good screens and their speed is something the army usually lacks. But I do not have any play experience with that unit, it´s just a matter of theory crafting (and, well, a comparison to chaos warhounds which I regularly use). That being said IMO if you like to be as competetive as you are able to, maybe you shouldn´t run an unknown army. On the other hand, if you enter the tourny to have some fun, just grab what you think is cool. I´m running LotfP due to the possibility to use all my daemons (mainly Nurgle) in one force with a different set of rules. I regularly use 20 Plaguebearers supported by a Bilepiper. That´s quite a good unit to use, but it already comes to 350 points. For fun I´d run the following or something similar: Allegiance: Legion of the First Prince - Grand Strategy: None Chosen - Triumphs: Leaders Sloppity Bilepiper Herald of Nurgle (130) Be'Lakor, the Dark Master (360) Battleline 20 x Plaguebearers (220) - Reinforced x 1 5 x Flesh Hounds (105) Units 3 x Flamers of Tzeentch (175) Total: 990 / 2000 Reinforced Units: 1 / 4 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 55 Drops: 5
  16. Hi guys, today in my LGS I somewhat fell in love with LRL. Well, I ´ve been liking the models for some months now but never had a deeper look at them. So today I took the army builder and created that list that I almost bought: Allegiance: Lumineth Realm Lords - Great Nation: Ymetrica - Grand Strategy: - Triumphs: Leaders Avalenor, the Stoneheart King (415) Vanari Lord Regent (155) - General Battleline 5 x Alarith Stoneguard (120) - Stone Mallets 5 x Alarith Stoneguard (120) - Stone Mallets Units 10 x Vanari Auralan Sentinels (150) (just for some shooting support, could also be a ballista) Total: 960 / 1000 Reinforced Units: 0 / 2 Allies: 0 / 200 Wounds: 50 Drops: 5 Do you think it´s a good list to start with the faction? I really don´t like the wardens nor the Dawnriders. I could also live with a Helon list based on Windchargers, but I absolutely want to include one of those Stone Spirits. Any ideas / advice?
  17. Congrats, @VonSmall! Never thought about running the Bridge with Daemons, yet Belakors Legion. I have to think about it. In what situation do you usually use the Kairos "super die", ie the ability to change one die in your favour.
  18. Why no Witherstave? For the remaining points I highly recomment the use of some Chaos Warhounds (screening), a min unit of Pusgoyle Blightlords (objective stealing) or a 2nd Sloppity (one can´t be everywhere). I can even see a second Lord of Afflictions because he is fast and offers some good offensive capabilities.
  19. Hi guys, I´m contemplating the use of some BEASTS OF CHAOS in my NURGLE forces. In fact I absolutely fell in love with both, the Bullgors and the Ghorgon (well modelwise). But I can´t decide wether I should buy some Bullgors or some Ghorgons. What do you think is better as a damage dealer unit in NURGLE forces?
  20. Hello Guys, I couldn´t resist and started with Stormcasts and that´s the models I own right now: Knight Judicator 205 Stormstrike Chariot 165 2 Fulminators 230 5 Judicators with Skybolt Bows 200 ---------- Comes to 800. Now I wonder what do I need to round out that force. We regularly play 1000 to 1250 points. What is your advice for additional models? I couldnßt get my hands on a Battletome right now, therefore I can´t search for synergies or units that fit my collection. Thanks in advance.
  21. Hi all, what do you think. is it possible to run a rather elite SBGL army? Which models / units should I consider then? Is any kind of summoning mandatory? Thanks in advance! HTG
  22. Hi everybody, I´ve seen some love for Lord Arcanum on Tauralon in this thread. I just wonder why. In AoS 2.0 nobody seemed to use this model. What changed that LAoT is suddenly a piece to consider?
  23. I thought about it but haven´t ordered them yet. Well, there are still a few... The thing is: Bilepiper is such a great support tool it can enhance the drones to insanity (well, almost) but it doesn´t have to. There are still other units that will get good benefits from a bilepiper making all your units potentionally dangerous and therefore the oppenent can´t choose their targets that easy. Right now I think they are pretty underwhelming due to low numbers and almost no damage output that isn´t even reliable! Low number of attacks with 4+ to hit make them unreliable. Unfortunately. They look great though! Varanguard? Is Belakor included as a coalition unit? He lacks the appropriate keyword, doesn´t he? If I correctly understand the rules, Belakor can only be an ally. Am I wrong here?
