  1. I love love love all of these developments. Death actually suffering a catastrophic defeat, Order triumphing thoroughly, rather than (another) pyric victory is a great swerve from what I would have expected, and people, let's all keep in mind that this book is focused on the Aelves, and the previous book had two very big W's for evil, with Morathi ****** over Sigmar and seizing both her own fortress and her long-dreamed of divinity, while simultaneously Chaos saw a huge development in Slaanesh breaking free from it's constraints. I'm super excited to see the story develop further for AO
  2. Hey all - Don't know if anyone commented on this yet, but if you go to the youtube video for the new "Steampunk" dwarves, there is another piece of art at the start of the video. It shows a dwarf fleet engaging some kind of multi-tentacled entity rising from the clouds/water. Nothing much to go on, but with all the rumors of "Deep-One" style elves, this could be another sign of their imminent release.
  3. So, since jumping into Age of Sigmar, I've been a pretty big fan of the Destruction faction. Recently, I've jumped around between Beastclaw Raiders, mixed ogors, and Ironjawz, after running a fairly successful mixed army of goblins, orruks, and ogors. Given the new year, I'd like to ideally pick up a Chaos army at some point (preferably Skaven, once they get their shiny new battletome). That being the case, it means I will need to reduce my Destruction forces somewhat. Currently, I'm torn between my three armies, so I'd like some community input on which to carry forward. Ironj

Just as the title says, what do people think is generally stronger ~ faction-specific armies, backed up with the special artifacts, traits, and such, from the newer tomes, or taking a general army of the cream of the crop from across the breadth of one of the four Grand Alliances? I've (so far) gravitated towards Grand Alliances over faction specific forces with both Destruction and Order, but now with the new Chaos Battletome coming out, I can't decide whether I want to go faction-specific for my next 3k points, or to stick to my theme of pulling the best from each race.

The army is supposed to represent three different tribes, brought together under the command of my Megaboss on his ferocious Maw-crusha.   6. 1. Completely overhaul Path to Glory - perhaps even use Bottle's template for Hinterlands campaign. Make this the definitive "Beginners Format". Keep to small model count (again, Bottle's campaign rarely goes beyond 10 models per side, which is perfect for learning each individual model's abilities, usefulness, etc.). 2. Add artifacts/command traits/bonuses for playing the Grand Alliances. Make them less competitive overall than individual Battletome - focus on these should be to differentiate the four Grand Alliances (i.e. Death should have recyling, Destruction speed, Chaos and Order b
  7. I'm just finishing up about 3k points of "Mixed Destruction" after wavering between various subfactions for the better part of the last year. I can field a couple formations and a good number of different strategies (depending on scenario/opponent). All in all, a very fun army. So my biggest change (aside from adjusting points and working on tweaking some of the points values/adding points for newer warscroll battalions) would be seeing an overhaul of the "Allies System". In my humble oppinion, there should be two sets of allegiance/artifact/traits - one for "general allegiance" (i.e. mixed order, destruction, etc) and one for "single faction" (bonesplitterz, Bloodbound, etc). I believe that mixed alliance spells and such should be added, but they should be toned down to offer less overall power than single alliance abilities. In other words -
