  1. Now I think I'll rebase my old metal Gotrek miniature and paint up the accompanying Felix model as a ghost standing behind him.
  2. We do know Ogors are at least getting a new hero model. And what are dual boxes usually composed of? A handful of old stuff and a new hero. In addition, I don't think Maw Tribes would have had their own unique trailer just for a single model if there wasn't something special about this "Feast of Bones." With so much bone business going on with the Ossiarch BONEreapers, and the hype GW are laying in front of it (aka., how much they want to focus on it so you'll buy into it), this brand new death faction would be the most logical bet assuming a dual box did exist. The last big box we had for AoS (Looncurse) was in May, and we know they like doing the dual boxes because they sell pretty darn well. The other alternative is an Ogor/Bonesplitterz box; however, this feels way less likely, even with the Orruk Tribes coming out because 1) That would mean a dual box with two factions from the same grand allegiance, which is incredibly rare, with Wrath & Rapture being the only one I can think of right now, 2) Boneplitterz don't really have much to do with bones in reality, except believe spirits exist within big monster skeletons, and 3) I doubt they'd want to create naming confusion with their fresh Death army-darling if it really is called the "Feast of Bones." What better way to get people buying into their new army of Ossiarchs than to bust out a few of them in an almost-always in demand battle box. Give people 10 or so foot bones, 5 horse bones, and one of the mighty foot bones. BAM, now people are invested and will want to spend dosh on all of the other awesome boxes. Doesn't matter if the Ogors are older models, many people are gonna want the NEW. But then again, maybe we won't see this kind of dual box until November or December...well after the Ossiarch Oct. release. If Mawtribes does include Beastclaw, what better time to unleash it than the beginning of (Ever)Winter? We have all of the pieces, we just don't know where they fit exactly. And there's my pointless speculation that's no more valid than anyone else's.
  3. Relax, the battletomes will come out and we'll likely hear about them either next week or the following. Try not to get caught up in the foibles of the marketing machine.
  4. People are saying that Katakros was the one freed from the underwater prison beneath Lethis. Now if that's true, then what is the gigantic demon creature we saw in the artwork? Nothing else we've seen from the Ossiarch looks like that creature. I find it hard to believe that pivotal narrative artwork was simply the artist taking liberties on something that looked completely different or didn't exist at all.
  5. After pages of comments I can only suggest we change the faction name from Bonereapers to Schrodinger's Tomb Kings.
  6. Agreed. Age of Sigmar has long since been grounded in any kind of logic or reality. That's what the Old World was. But the Mortal Realms are a universe of bonkers magic and unpredictability. It's mythical fantasy where anything goes. If anyone expects otherwise, it might not be the setting for them (or at least accept that "realism" is not a thing here).
  7. Here's some speculation: 1) We see the Ossiarch release October. Then, in November or December (because it's Everwinter, ya see?) we get the Mawtribes (maybe boxed with the new faction, but maybe not...maybe Feast of Bones didn't mean anything after all). 2) The October release for the Ossiarch IS this year's boxed set with Mawtribes, with additional models, tome, etc., sold separately (how they did it with Nighthaunt). Because they didn't have a second brand-new army to pair with the Ossiarch (like Sancrosanct previously), that may be a reason to box them with old Ogor stuff.
  8. I'm a fan of this aesthetic. It's the unnatural formed from the natural---it's bizarre and unpredictable. From what we've read and heard so far it also sounds like their units might have more interesting rules than we're normally used to.
  9. The problem with Battleshock is twofold. Firstly, CP is too abundant in some armies, often armies that don't need them. Armies like Gitz NEED a CP machine to keep any of their units on the battlefield for more than a turn, but other armies, like Slaanesh, can harvest absurd amounts of CP, so even when they do need to worry about battleshock, it's no biggy to throw a handful of Inspiring Presence around. I really don't like how battalions give you an extra CP, it only adds to the inflation problem. And speaking of daemons, there are a wide number of armies and units that simply don't care much or at all about battleshock. Daemons, Undead, Lizards...all with standardized Bravery 10 makes it nigh impossible for it to be a concern for them. Then you have units like Skaven where, bizarrely, most of their units are immune to battleshock because of numerous abilities from heroes. Skaven...the most cowardly race in the universe, rarely worry about bravery. So we have an abundance of CP's and a plethora of factions that ignore battleshock for most intents and purposes. Changing Inspiring Presence to not auto-pass Bravery tests would only hurt the factions that need it the most and wouldn't affect the armies who already have no issues with it.
  10. That's a weird, almost cartoony design. It looks like it's just a big tombstone with arms and a head.
  11. Does anyone recognize the artwork in the new Forbidden Power story Method of Madness? If they're new, I'd reckon that'd be a pretty good indicator of a fresh tome sometime soon.
  12. Also the explanation that these rumors come from "whiteboard pics" is hilarious. Did they really write down "happy with KO and Fyreslayers" on a board along with "phasing out Seraphon" and all of that other stuff. They're obviously fake leaks mixed with real theories people have been floating around for awhile. But hey, it gives us something to do.
  13. Any kind of rumors are nice to read in The Rumour Thread.
  14. Now that's a rumor I can sink my teeth into.
  15. The best leaks are the ones secretly posted by GW themselves. No one gets hurt and we get to revel in the hype machine.
  16. He's "Fantasy blind." Which means he can see BETTER THAN EVER.
  17. This should be the case with every summoning faction.
  18. I think most people agree their summoning is skewed. There's no real counter to it and Slaanesh gains so much Depravity from doing very little; the only real limitation is physically not having enough models to fill up the board with more KoS and Daemonettes. Heaven help you if you play armies with 2-4 wound models.
  19. I'd go one step further and say we allow people to use their old models in Cities armies as "proxies." Let Thunderers be Guild Gunners. Let Swordmasters be Greatswords. I say we band together and give people the chance to use their armies without having to resort to outdated, soon to be legacy rules.
  20. I'm shocked about the Cannon and Organ Gun. Everything else I kind of expected; but we just had a whole mercenary company dedicated to the ironweld arsenal. Hopefully people will find equivalencies to use in the new Cities book, like using Thunderers as Gunners, etc.
  21. Lovely models, but did they have to call them "Kurnothi"? We already have Kurnoth Hunters and Kurnoth himself. People who aren't intimately familiar with all of this will be confused whether you're talking about giant tree people, a woodland god, or beast-elves. That aside, I just don't think it's an interesting name.
  22. Looks like the preview on Saturday is for 40k, as expected.
  23. Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth for every Seraphon player---if all of these scaly rumor engines were Eldar.
  24. I'd be all in on that. They'd be like the Ogors of spooky town.
  25. Hasn't been long enough to tell much about the state of the meta. But there are two things I do know for certain: Skaven units are still grossly undercosted. Slaanesh's summoning is broken.
