  1. I'm just mentioning this to uh, mention it. but if you take a unit of chariots... not wait hear me out! It's the only way to get a command model in there so you won't have to spend a CA from a Leader on them for buffs. So there's that, a teensy weenzy reason to take a unit of more than one chariot because you don't want to waste using a leader to give them a CA when you have good stuff around that needs it more. edit: also I woulnd't call the chariots good just better off than before. (pending pts changes)
  2. I'm actually doing a Cavalry Ravagers army, it probably won't be super good, but the meta seems to be shifting in its favour, with min units. Just think of chariots as missiles that can assist your knights. I'm thinking of adding maybe two units of furies to the list as screens, because knights and chariots both need to charge to be the most effective (at least with the lances). I'm running two Lords on daemonic mounts and a Manticore sorcerer lord. the Karkadrak seems good, and looks amazing. But I only have the older chaos knights so I don't want to mix in the new, much better looking models haha 😜 anyway, it's gonna be a low model count list, helped out somewhat by summoning in marauder horsemen.
  3. It is interesting that skeleton spears lost their 2" reach, and zombies have a better pile in, as the Gravelord book was written with 3.0 in mind. There might be more to it than shown as well. But from what I'm reading it's the same knee-****** gloom and doom as always when we get a tiny preview of a rule without the entire context. It's such a repeating pattern edit: haha, the word that starts with J and rhymes with twerk got censored, making it look so much worse
  4. That is a good way of putting it actually
  5. I don't think Grave Guard are that comparable to HGB's. maybe with broadaxes but honestly, getting hit by the flamestrike poleaxes is insane, because they deal 2 MW's on the hit roll. And I've never had any trouble getting every model in range with that 2" reach.. Grave guard will very rarely get their full numbers in to swing despite smaller bases. But more than that they get insanely tough really easily with Duty unto Death and having 2 wounds. Let's not even mention some of the insane murder dorf things you can get into if you apply more buffs than having a hero nearby. Yes Grave guard hit pretty hard, and is almost like having a watered down version both broadaxe+flamestrike in one. But if anything gets to them they'll die (and then stand back up again later, hopefully). Not saying they are bad, they're really great now. But Hearthguard Berzerkers are freaking nuts, man.
  6. Well... before giving them +1 attack and vanhels was an expensive (in the way of putting buffs on a mediocre unit) way of launching a fast moving unit to charge in and do quite a bit of damage... and then probably die as they were only good on the charge. Now with that rend and damage on the charge buff gone... I have no idea except for a tax on a battalion. If they would only get something of a grave guard on horse statline I'd be pretty happy.
  7. Played a 1250 game with my list being mostly knights and chariots in a ravager subfaction with the nurgle keyword. I had two lords on daemon pony and boy did they carry my army. My 5 knights with lances did like 3 wounds on the charge even with the +1 to hit CA and then 3 of them died. Getting two 5man extra marauder horsemen in evened it out if anything. And I used my chariots to tie up units and managed to win (just barely) on pts, but I had sooo little left that some bad dice rolling would probably see me tabled quickly. I think I just got lucky and managed to position well, for once 😆
  8. Bummer, that would otherwise have maybe seen some use
  9. Does the Great drake asterism add 1 attack to the hero's mount as well? 🤔
  10. We actually did it that way too but it was pretty much a coin toss 😅
  11. We played our first campaign game yesterday and drew the Isolation victory card. It has one player be the attacker and one the defender. But the defender just gets to use one of their groups (dagger, shield or hammer). And the rest are removed from play and from reinforcements, but do not count as taken out of action/slain. Now that's all clear and fine but when it came to gaining glory points we couldn't figure out if the attacker (who had slain 2 of my 3 models in the group that remained in play) would get glory points for taking out 2/3 of my warband or if he simply couldn't because the ones that were removed but not counted as taken out of action still would count towards my warband or not? I had 8 models total but only 3 in the group. Anyone got any clarification on how this would work?
  12. The Flayed don't do much for reavers. Except maybe the command ability. 20 reavers will never all get to swing due to their 32mm bases.
  13. I actually didn't like having a roadmap for Necromunda. Takes away some of the mystique. And now I can clearly see how long the wait will be until my Cawdor gets a book 😅😭
  14. I've always liked the dameon prince, I always gave him an artefact before but now? Holy smokes, he got sooo much better! I always keep hin just behind my lines and then fly him out after the lines are met. Sometimes to kill a nasty enemy leader, or to double team some unit. He's sooo good!
  15. Well those aren't impressive 😄 Dangit, I was kinda hoping they'd make up for it somewhat. It's like, I want to like it because it's new and more options but it's super situational and chances are when a unit finally triggers it it will be pretty duffed up already.
  16. Has anyone run The Flayed from wrath of the everchosen? From what I've read it seems really bad, but getting a better save on some of our tankier units + bronzed flesh might be good.. maybe? Also I don't know what the artefact and command trait does so I feel like I don't have the entire picture 😄
  17. I was honestly hoping for something more chaos warrior focused 😅😔
  18. Did the new campaign book add anything for s2d?
  19. But those are on 32mm in the pictures, right? They do look good with black helmets and sheilds though
  20. As someone who only has chaos warriors and knights... ouch I love the Knights though. Except when a single unit of tzaangor enlightened deleted them in one go once ,haha... I refuse to get the ugly as balls maraudermodels. I might wait for the bigbox of Spire tyrants and get some 25mm bases. I've looked through the entire aos range and as far as I can see it's either bloof reavers or kairic acolytes that fits the bill. But they'll look very cramped on 25mm bases
  21. Yeah I think we were all hoping for new models, but I think most of us suspected there wouldn't be any, Still a bit surprised they didn't show any endless spells. Excited for the book though! my hopes are a healthy dose of updated warscrolls and some fun subfactions!
  22. I totally agree that they are the most down to earth looking proper aos army. Still I'm a bit dissapointed by regular horses. They could have made something a bit more aos and showcased more of the animals of Hysh with it. Heck horse-looking creatures with that creepy mask/face thing that teclis mount has would have been awesome and unsettling
  23. I really like the model and will get it just too have it. And I'll try him out in my ravagers lists I think, but that command ability will go unused which is a shame.
