  1. Localy we play as written in GHB - so you need to have models in your army based "properly", at the same time you can and proabably should consult with TO if it's okay to have transparent acrylic base.
  2. For everyone who talks smack about phoenicium - get a knight incantor, get a single gryphhound (either through SCE hero or Warpriest) and then nuke the doggo with Spirit Flasks on the turn you want the bonus (that is clearly intended as defensive boost) Profit! Army-wide CC bonus at the cost of bringing 2 support heroes and causing yourself problems with animal protectionists.
  3. It's a good bonus, if you're all about running huge blocks of 4+ ward phoenix guard just pick another city - Hammerhall will provide you with great damage amplifier.
  4. Those were a thing, yes, but not in matched play
  5. Rules are rules and store manager is just a dude. 1 to hit, wound or save is ALWAYS a fail.
  6. Yeah, that's fun, but you missed one part - extra artillery piece have to be IRONWELD ARSENAL
  7. Dark Elf Sorceress for sure, she's almost an auto-cast with her +2 to cast spells, Wanderers' Spellweawer if she won't be discarded is good for her utility (1 auto-unbind per game)
  8. His buff is already rather useless for most spells because the spell have to be within 12" to benefit, that is less than most usefull spells you'd bring, whille empowered spells usually have increased range, so it gets worse. His buff is a CA that adds D6 to spells move and it seems to be stackable. EDIT. Alright, I might have been somewhat wrong, here is a list of spells that would benefit from LA on foot CA: Purple Sun of Shyish Aethervoid Pendulum Quicksilver Swords Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws The Burning Head Suffocating Gravetide Lauchon the Soulseeker (though empowered he will travel 18" and will deploy troops outside of 9" of the enemy) Horrorghast ANOTHER EDIT! There are also 3 faction endless spells that would benefit: Celestial Vortex (SCE) Vengefull Skullroot (Sylvaneth) Gladewyrm (Sylvaneth)
  9. Must agree with @Myrdin, Tempest Eye maybe lacks versatility of Anvilguard, but it's pretty good for your first turn positioning, you can be more agressive if opponent gives you first turn or build an alpha strike list, also it's really good for shooting units.
  10. With alternate activations you will have to make decisions based on what your opponent is doing right now instead of having an entire turn to think it through, you don't have much to do during move and charge phases - so that is plenty of time to build a strategy, so for the most part alternate activations will most certanly increase time required to play a game. A 3 turn Infinity game of 300 points takes just as much as a game of 2000 points of aos because of it's extensive reaction mechanics, though you only have around 30 models on the table between both players. Apoc rules would be interesting to look at though, also when we played AoS "apoc" organisators found somewhere rules that I believe are official GW stuff - that units fight at the same time and all models are automaticaly in range to attack. I will check if that is actually official later.
  11. So far so good, I'm already polishing my artillery and wait for opportunities to grab some handgunners for my Greywater army, but also whille taking a bus to work today I read how Stormkeeps where established around realmgates and that made me think about also building a force of brave Azyrheim...ians?, who first went into re-couqered realms and they fought and laboured alongside Stormcast to rebuild Sigmar's domain.
  12. Well yes, but it's not that hard to slap Desolators with 5 MWs and every model left drops 1 attack. So on average 5 Desolators will hit with 10 attacks against the same amount from Concussors, but the later will also deal a couple of MWs, stun enemy unit so they will retaliate with less models and benefit more from rerolls to hit. So it's an important question - is that worth 120 points or not?
  13. After release of Nightvault I gave up the idea of truly commiting to competetive WU, and with only 2 seasons rotation there is also no point in doing that because my main game is AoS and just 2 years is not nearly enough to me to paint warbands and practice, so I'll just play casually with all the cards buying warbands that I like. EDIT: Also it just happens that I like Wild Hunt warband so no problems with buying starter set
  14. How Desolators compare to Concussors in such dracoth heavy lists? Do Concussors not worth extra 40 points per 2?
  15. On the note of Flesh-Eaters I wonder what a Varghulf is in AoS setting, are they devolved vampires like in Fantasy? Or will they be explained as something different? Yet there is no clue in battletomes.
  16. Thats a bummer, I guess you have to wait until new GHB/SCE battletome
  17. I find it hillarious that (presumably) grown up people need other people to police them to enjoy playing plastic soldiers.
  18. That was to represent what BoC vs SCE really is on power level, Ash is an entertainer and even though I'd prefer to see more competetive games, he does his job well and he has his audience, I don't blame him for bringing weak lists. In my book competetive gaming is not about balance and fun (in broad sense) some people enjoy cracking a tough list eventually, after beign crushed many times over, some don't.
  19. It can be about their diet if anything, can't imagine munching raw flesh, bone and marrow being good for developing child or reproducting function.
  20. I only expect people to find what they like about the hobby and enjoy it, it just happened that I enjoy competetive play just as much as all other aspects of the hobby, which makes me look like a ******
  21. Works like a charm, thanks for asking. What should have happened is: Anvilstrike list killing all fast/dd units turn 1 There were Learn possitioning They kicked me out for actually trying to win SCE already were capable of it and than it got scraged
  22. That was the case in 40k previously (you could only kill those models you have LoS to), that would be a game changer, there is so much shenanigans that can be done with such a rule It's called silhouettes and is used in Infiniti (only instead of domes it is a rectangle), this is by far the best solution to both los and conversions you can have in a wargame with 3D terrain.
