  1. Finally a wargame for me!* *and only me lol
  2. I thought the issue with the cart was that it could be taken over it's starting size by the heroic action but since the cart doesnt have "summonable" it's no longer a valid target for the effect.
  3. I'm cautiously and stupidly optimistic that beasts of chaos can be the bridge faction for TOW the way chaos daemons is between AoS/40k/HH but that's because I'm so desperate for any beast releases.
  4. I thought unreasonable battlefield grooming standards was a distinctly british officer speciality lol
  5. Face 10 Hair 0 Who designed those do's? The relic envoy is maybe blowing in the wind but the white guy marshal's head looks like he just rolled out of bed after slathering on a ton of pig grease the night before* *not a personal anecdote.
  6. Quick question about Arkhan the blacks spell range buff. Does it turn soul release into an 18" bubble of no deepstrike?
  7. Seems pretty safe to say that anyone who gets a new model can expect they're in the front half of the queue for a new book. Just because they sure do like to consolidate their warscrolls. I hope I'm wrong though because Beasts of Chaos could really use any new models and they definitely won't be getting a new book any time soon for obvious reasons.
  8. Hopefully a beasts of chaos team because they often provide wonderful conversion fodder but I don't know if bloodbowl even has specific beasts teams or not.
  9. @Dolomedes Thanks for the write up and congratulations on what sounds like some good games. Happy to hear enlightened + beastlord worked for you as I'm very eager to try mine. Sad to hear that about the bulls though. Have you considered dropping one group of spawn for something else? Tuskgor chariots are a nice 7 wound 4+ save screen (with their big bases) that also does suprising damage on the charge against 1-2 wound models. Can help with screens themselves.
  10. Even King Brodd forgot us between one post and the next and it was a double post! (This is a joke everyone)
  11. All the "chaos has enough warbands time to move on!" Just reminds beasts of chaos how forgotten we are T_T
  12. The particularly astute among you may have noticed it has been more than 4 days but I can finally present my battle ready painting contract! (only one month late hah). The doombull and a few gor as well as half of grashrak who's filling in as a third bray shaman were already painted. Maybe the cockatrice? Either way enjoy the photo dump!
  13. I'll definitely be paying attention to whether my axe bulls are over killing their targets and try it out. I appreciate the long and thought out replies. Edit: Just wanted to shamelessly plug my finally battle ready skullfray! https://www.tga.community/forums/topic/34704-the-painting-contract-april-2023/?do=findComment&comment=617330
  14. @Dolomedes I do get what you're saying and I certainly do want to try them but I wonder what I'm entering wrong because when I look at thekr averages in statshammer I am not getting the same averages. I can test out a few real world roll scenarios but that feels less scientific. If you're running them competitively then I have to trust they are working for you (I'm also on the 9 bulls train btw, I like the better potential for killing something on the charge combined with a doombull to charge again because they really need all the help they can get making their points back).
  15. I promise I don't just come here to poo poo on other peoples ideas like it seems lol Idk, the damage difference between shields and great axes is 7-9 wounds depending on the enemy save and that's not a negligible number. I'm really tempted to try shields and probably will because I'd love to have a 3+ save. Ultimately I dont feel they're strong enough to give up any killing power because for their cost in both points and list building they NEED to remove what they hit when they hit it. The real deciding factor for me is that my list already has enlightened who really need all out attack and Gor who really need all out attack (if you want to deal damage) so bullgor having the option to hit on 3's is worth more than just being +1 to hit imo. More and more I want to try to fit Grashrak into my lists for his spell. I might have to test it and get back.
  16. I haven't tested them so maybe its just a case of "mathhammer versus actual" but the damage output from 230 points of ungor raiders on average won't wipe a screen of 10 wounds with even a 6+ save with their hero phase shooting unless you also dedicate a warping curse and roll high enough. Yes they can shoot again in the shooting phase but by then the screen has already pushed out your ambushers. It feels like the blood taunt is "almost" always going to open the gap better without costing over 200 points. But again, maybe people in their games are just rolling better than averages.
  17. I personally don't care for the cygor or ungor raiders but they can easily have a place if you like them or your meta is good for them. I fully agree on enlightened being a great pick and have considered double giants myself. Worth noting that one unit of raiders can be battleline since you have one unit of gors. No reason not to just to protect your GC's more. If you're not going to use bullgor or the slitherhelm combo then I don't see much reason to include a doombull, his output for points is always going to be better spent on say 6 more enlightened. When using a bunch of enlightened you can contemplate things that help them that might not usually see use. A beastlord aura, skullfray general trait, grashrak's warscroll spell, just things to think about. Considering all your brayherd are min size units you might be better served with gavespawn but if you took everything I said I think you'd have a different list entirely so just pick and choose what thoughts sound good to you and I'm glad to hear you've been having a good time with the new book!
  18. I wish I don't even have the bases to proxy it yet, but I promise to report back if I get the chance.
  19. I personally can't stomach Desecrating Brayherd just because of the Jaws of Gallet mission being an auto fail with only 1 objective at the end of the game. The multiple missions with only 2 objectives on the board are bad enough but auto failing before the game starts is my limit. I still have a hard time with Bestigor because they don't really look any tankier than gor with shields while dealing less damage. I know you can pack more wounds into a smaller area (40-60 as opposed to 20-30) but that's also less bodies on objectives and in allherd I expect you will get more than the 10 wounds back over the game. That said theres nothing that compares to a 30 block with 60 4+ wounds as far as anvils are concerned. I think they can be the better pick in a 20 man unit and are incomparable in a 30 but I'd rather run that in gavespawn to really make that tar into a pit the enemy will never get out of. I can't speak to the centigor and dogors. I assume they're overpriced but I thought that incorrectly about bestigor too. The centigor dont seem far off the mark in either case. What benefit are you finding in a 15 squad as opposed to 3 5's for more benefit from drunken revelry? Assuming your doombull gives out his fights last as intended of course.
  20. I promise all these text posts will eventually include an actual army pic but after slight changes I'm now pushing myself to finish the whole army to a battle ready standard by this weekend for a local tournament. I paint zenithal-contrast-base[battle ready]-drybrush-contrast-highlight[parade] and the army is literally 2 coats away from battle ready except I changed the list to now have to paint 6 tzaangor enlightened from scratch rather than the 20 almost completed ungor. So now my goal is finish 24 gor (so close) 3 tuskgor chariot (I can almost) 9 bullgor (taste it*) 6 tzaangor enlightened (from primed) All the bases In... 4 days lol Wish me luck * warning do not taste the bullgor.
  21. Strike and fade happens on their turn. So he was able to fight first and then teleport away through the trees meaning charging just gave him a free fight phase into my bulls.
  22. Huge congratulations! Judging from the response here it's almost as if GW's sales would really benefit from letting the community interact with people who make things for the company lol
  23. I cant believe they thought a minor points drop on Bestigor was worth a nerf to a unit that is generally considered to be not worth it. Cockatrice nerf was inevitable and I'm just glad they did it before they started getting allied into every other chaos army. Bullgor do pretty good damage so I'm mostly neutral about that change. Though I'd contend many people considered the points too high for the beasts so I'm a bit surprised to see more hikes for an army that's ostensibly already in the sweet spot for win rate.
  24. Quick question. Are tzaangor enlightened and tzaangor really the same exact body size? I want to be sure for some conversions. Thanks ahead of time.
  25. I believe it is once per game per "friendly unit on the battlefield with this ability." What's unclear to me is if you can bring say 3 and pick them one after the other to activate all on the same turn. It seems like you would pick 1 to activate then pick 1 to activate then pick 1 to activate since simultaneous effects are just carried out in an order of the controlling players choosing.
